Spotify and other services' success has fostered a new interdisciplinary ecosystem of tech-forward music companies.
Many of the music industry’s most influential executives -- Guy Oseary, Troy Carter, Scooter Braun, Lyor Cohen, Jimmy Iovine -- have dabbled in or even fled entirely to the worlds of tech, finance and VC, sensing both higher profits and a stronger affinity for innovation. But now, thanks in part to the growth of streaming, the moves are increasingly happening in the other direction as well.
