1989 is going to be a bloodbath. Let me start. Whoever ranks All You Had To Do Was Stay outside their top 10 is dead to me. Don't kill your host!

Oh thank God. I literally would have boardicided and never come back if the utter trash that is "Red" beat out the masterpiece that is "All Too Well". Never had such polar opposite taste for a top 2 in a rankdown ever.

why do people like all too well so much I didn't participate in this game, but "All Too Well" is my favorite song by Swift. I love it. The lyrics are so specific, yet still very relatable. Couplets like "You call me up again just to break my like a promise/So casually cruel in the name of being honest" and "Time won't fly it's like I'm paralyzed by it/I'd like to be my old self again but I'm still trying to find it" are among her best to me. It's just a phenomenal song.

I agree. I am an avid Taylor Swift hater, but I can't even deny how phenomenal of a song "All Too Well" is. The songwriting is stellar and the build in the song gives you all the feels. You can really feel the story here and the heartache. My favorite line is "You told me about your past thinking your future was me" and that whole verse really. Its incredible, unlike the broken record that is re-e-e-e-e-d, r-e-e-e-e-d

I love "I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to" as well. "Red" is catchy enough, but other people have explored that concept in a better way lyrically (I think of Fiona Apple's "Red, Red, Red"), and then other songs on Red pack more of a punch in their production to me (like the great "I Knew You Were Trouble" where the production matches the shifts of the emotions described in the lyric).

I just had a look at the last.fm stats for Red to see which tracks had the most longevity.
I looked at the ratio of listens to listeners - ie if you hear the song, how often do you replay it.
And ratio of all time listeners to listeners this week - how many people are still listening to the song today compared to the past?
There's a couple tracks that had issues with different versions so the stats can't be combined, like the album and Spotify version of IKWYT and The Last Time being labelled as "ft. Gary Lightbody" in one case and not in the other.
But out of the remaining songs, these are the ones that have done best in terms of repeated listens and aging (compared to ranking here in brackets)
1. All Too Well (1) 2. Red (1) 3. Begin Again (3) 4. State of Grace (4) 5. 22 (8) 6. Treacherous (9) 7. Holy Ground (6) 8. I Almost Do (10) 9. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (5) 10. Starlight (7) 11. The Lucky One (11) 12. Stay Stay Stay (12) 13. Sad Beautiful Tragic (13)
Well I do agree with last.fm listeners that you guys over-ranked WANEGBT and Starlight and under-ranked Treacherous and 22. However it seems like I'm the only one that thinks Sad Beautiful Tragic deserved better. Oh well, the gap between All Too Well and Sad Beautiful Tragic is still smaller than between Sad Beautiful Tragic and Party Rock Anthem.
