Let's change things up a bit! Y'all have seen mostly low SDs so far right? Well, this time, we'll see one with a high SD. Consisting of four top 40s and the exact same number of bottom tens, I also lose my very. first. TOP 20!

I'm happy/indifferent to most of teh reveals so far, but we've also lost two great songs.
I agree that its melody isn't "My Strongest Weakness"'s strong suit, but hearing those lyrics sang by that voice more than make up for it, imo. The keeper of the gates of wisdom, please let me in. I just can't go through another heartache again has to be one of the most memorable opening lyrics from the early 1990s. Great stuff.
I also really like "Somewhere Other Than The Night". It doesn't feel as huge now as it was then, especially since it was excluded from some of his earlier greatest hits albums, but that one was pretty big back in the day. I really like the lyrics, and appreciate the fact that it was a different sound for Garth at the time.

I really like Garth Brooks and used to LOVE "Somewhere Other Than The Night" but listening to it for this I realized how much I just don't care for it at all.

Finally Garth is out! I actually like his 90's material but this one was always bottom of the barrel for me. Bleh.
Some very unnecessary hate for "In The Heart Of A Woman" that song is great! Though BRC always gets too much hate so not surprised.
My jaw did drop though for "Let Go Of The Stone" and "Looking Out For Number One" those are classics to me and while only in my 40's I was really hoping they'd make it much further.
None of the other songs shock me really, though I didn't think Wynonna would be out yet but it's not shocking either.
Hoping my top 30 remains intact a lot longer now.

The best things seldom come along twice... 92. Alabama - Once Upon a LifetimeBillboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 3 Billboard Hot Country Songs of 1993: 54 Total Points: 1095 Average Rank: 73 Standard Deviation: 33.83995947 ( 19th highest!) I should've known more people would find this boring! :'( This is such a beautiful song imo and so underrated. Way too many bottom twenty rankings sunk this gem real low and there weren't enough supporters to keep this out of the bottom twenty here! I'll be right back so I can start grieving again! :'(

there are honestly very few songs on this list that I actually don't care for so those ones are very low. Sorry for those that like that song but it is one of my least favorite songs from Alabama.

You know I liked Ricky right up until this single. There were some good songs he put out afterwards but somewhere in there he lost his magic.

The last few reveals really went in my favor. Glad to see at least one Garth song went out in the bottom 20, and the Albama and Ricky Van Shelton songs were unmemorable losses as well. Good set.

"Queen of Memphis" - I probably underranked this one (I'll be saying that a lot as the rankdown progresses) but I don't nearly like this one as much now as I used to; that said I still really enjoy most of Confederate Railroad's material especially everything from their debut album (well...mostly lol) "If I Didn't Love You" - I agree with CoJoFan that most of Steve Wariner's best work was from the mid to late 80's including "The Weekend" (one of all time favorites!), "Some Fools Never Learn," and "Small Town Girl" just to name a few. He's definitely an overlooked artist on Pulse who overall has a great repertoire of music. "I Want You Bad (And That Ain't Good)" - I remember seeing the video for this on CMT all the time back in '93 but it's yet another song I don't like quite as much as I used to. Looking back on Collin's discography now this one just doesn't hold up well to some of his better material in the 90's. "Love on the Loose, Heart on the Run" - This is probably my favorite song by McBride & the Ride but not surprised to see them out so soon (albeit disappointed for sure). "Somewhere Other Than the Night" - I figured this would likely be the first of Garth's song to go but almost expected it to come sooner lol. I agree with castleoblivion26 that this is a song I used to love but coming back around to it for the rankdown I don't like it near as much as I remember. "Once Upon a Lifetime" - WHAT?!? How is this song deserving of not one but three bottom 5 rankings??? I've always really loved this song and has long been one of my favorites by Alabama. Again I ask how is "Trashy Women" still in over a song like this "Wild Man" - I'm a longtime fan of RVS and feel like I likely underranked this one as well, but given how '93 was such a strong year it was hard to rank this song amongst so many other great ones. I likely should've placed this within my top 50 though. Keep 'em coming Cody Wants Out... !

Speaking again of Steve Wariner, I also loved “Holes In The Floor Of Heaven” from the late 90’s. Should’ve been a #1 hit for him.

I'll go ahead and reveal a few more songs tonight, even though I'll lose another top 20 just as we get this going. Keep in mind that I'm working on quite a few rankdowns at the moment so you may not get a lot.

"Wild Man" deserved better.
Otherwise, things are still goin' fine.
I don't expect that to last tho lol. I can't imagine "Money In The Bank" making it much farther and that one is in my top 10 lmao so I am expecting a big loss soon.

Up next is an artist we haven't seen yet...
Someone else also loses a top 15 while two others lose a top 30!

Honestly wasn't expecting much out of this in regards to where it would end up in this rankdown. I am a little sad to see it leaving this soon though. Such a powerfully heartbreaking ballad. Makes you count your blessings if you ask me. :'(

This is the first time I've been the last person to submit in a rankdown and it's fun seeing my rankings make a difference like this lol.
