I hope not, I ranked it very high. But JMM and Suzy are the two artists that stick out.

I wanted to get us to the top ten tonight, but unfortunately, I stumbled across a mess that needed to be cleaned up on the home front. As a consequence, I got incredibly exhausted. On top of that, I have relatives coming down for the weekend and I'll be spending quite a bit of time with them (early birthday present!), so there went my plan of getting this thing done this weekend.
I'll try to get us to the top ten tomorrow evening and possibly finish up the next day.

Finally. For an upbeat song "Chatahoochee" is sure annoying. It's catchy I guess, but blech.

Truth be told I used to love this song and video as a kid...but then after years and years and years of being subjected to this song I literally can't stand it anymore. It's an instant radio changer for me. The funny thing is I actually don't mind the extended version of the song (3:56 mins vs. 2:29 mins) but radio never plays that version and was only made available on his first Greatest Hits Collection.

14. Reba McEntire and Linda Davis - Does He Love YouBillboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 1 Billboard Hot Country Songs of 1993: 40 Total Points: 559 Average Rank: 37.266666666667 Standard Deviation: 29.74286629 austin - 1 someguy - 3 Glove Slap - 3 LBTrocks - 8 bboat11 - 18 .indulgecountry - 22 castleoblivion26 - 29 tim - 32 Kanenrá:ke - 33 rgreen0625 - 50 sabre14 - 59 Jrod82 - 63 George Strait Junkie - 67 Cody Wants Out... - 73 kw9461 - 98
Now it's Reba's turn to leave us as she loses her final song and collaboration a few spots shy of the top ten. austin's #1 also leaves us along with three other top tens, including a pair of #3s. I also lose my final bottom 40 and kw9461 is now down to only one bottom 20. Honestly, I think this one's a little overrated (doesn't mean I don't like it nor does it mean I think it's a bad song) and it didn't help that Prime Country plays this one into the ground a lot.

Up next is yet another departure, with a whopping SEVEN top 20s, including three top tens (one of them is mine)!
Two others will lose their final bottom ten.
Just found a great hint!

The Forester Sisters and the Bellamy Brothers teamed up on "Too Much is Not Enough" (which I actually considered for my country groups RD), which got both parties another #1 on radio. Both of them also covered this and barely made the charts in 1990. 13. Suzy Bogguss - Drive SouthBillboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 2 Billboard Hot Country Songs of 1993: 49 Total Points: 556 Average Rank: 37.066666666667 Standard Deviation: 33.95893879 ( 17th highest!) Kanenrá:ke - 5 Cody Wants Out... - 6 someguy - 10 castleoblivion26 - 13 kw9461 - 15 tim - 19 sabre14 - 20 .indulgecountry - 21 Glove Slap - 23 bboat11 - 35 austin - 46 Jrod82 - 53 LBTrocks - 83 George Strait Junkie - 102 rgreen0625 - 105
Oh me oh my! That video is SO. CUTE!!! Despite me geeking out over the time where Suzy does that little air guitar thing (again ), Kanenrá:ke loses his final top 5. :'( I also lose a near top five and five others lose another top 20. Not only did the two bottom tens push this back several spots along the way, they also most likely made this more polarizing (than it needed to be imo). Such a fun song that'd sound PERFECT on a road trip!

The next two songs to miss out on the top ten are tied in points; the winner of this tie is another song with multiple #1 rankings.
What are the next two songs to miss the top ten?

12. Mary Chapin Carpenter - Passionate KissesBillboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 4 Billboard Hot 100 Peak: 57 Billboard Adult Contemporary Peak: 11 Billboard Hot Country Songs of 1993: 67 Total Points: 552 Average Rank: 36.8 Standard Deviation: 24.88028479 austin - 5 tim - 8 Kanenrá:ke - 8 Glove Slap - 11 someguy - 13 bboat11 - 28 kw9461 - 34 rgreen0625 - 43 castleoblivion26 - 44 Jrod82 - 45 .indulgecountry - 49 LBTrocks - 51 sabre14 - 60 Cody Wants Out... - 61 George Strait Junkie - 92
Another crossover hit leaves as Mary Chapin Carpenter loses one of her most successful country singles to date, which peaked in the 50s on the all-genre Hot 100 and almost hit the top ten on the AC format. Five top fifteens, which also include two top tens and a top five from austin, are shown here and George Strait Junkie loses his final bottom 20. This is a great song, but I sadly couldn't justify ranking this higher on my end. Plus, a little over-exposure might've done this in for me as well.

11. George Strait - I Cross My HeartBillboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 1 Total Points: 552 Average Rank: 36.8 Standard Deviation: 33.31494731 bboat11 - 1 Jrod82 - 1 tim - 3 George Strait Junkie - 6 austin - 7 LBTrocks - 12 rgreen0625 - 19 Cody Wants Out... - 32 .indulgecountry - 43 Glove Slap - 56 kw9461 - 59 someguy - 61 castleoblivion26 - 70 sabre14 - 74 Kanenrá:ke - 108
We now dip back into the Pure Country soundtrack as the most successful ballad from the album leaves us just short of the top ten. Here we see another song with multiple #1s and five other top 20s! Two of our mods also had the utter gall to put this in their bottom 40, with Kanenrá:ke becoming the last person to lose his final bottom five of the entire rankdown. From this point forward, there are NO MORE bottom tens. However, five people still have a bottom 20! :o

Took us long enough, but we've FINALLY MADE IT TO THE TOP TEN!!!
George Strait - Easy Come, Easy Go Patty Loveless - Blame It On Your Heart Wynonna - Tell Me Why Toby Keith - Should've Been a Cowboy George Strait - Heartland Vince Gill - Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away Trisha Yearwood - Walkaway Joe John Michael Montgomery - Life's a Dance Alabama - I'm In a Hurry (and Don't Know Why) Martina McBride - My Baby Loves Me
Gimme your top ten predictions; I'd really like to finish this up by the end of the month!

"Passionate Kisses" definitely overstayed. I like it but the repeated 'passionate kisses' in the chorus is hella annoying.
"I Cross My Heart" went out at the right time IMO. Love it, but it's far from being one of my favorites from George.

Super happy to see Wynonna, Patty, Martina, and Trisha all make the Top 10 here!
John Michael Velveeta can leave anytime now though.

I think Patty or Martina will win. I think George, JMM and Wynonna go out right away.

Oh crap! I have more songs to highlight!
I'm still kicking myself for not including this one! (which probably would've done better here I think) So bad that I'm starting to see a few bruises! (Help me! ) As I make an attempt to provide a segue into a sneak-peak of the '94 Country rankdown, let's take a brief pause and bring up this lady again: With regret, I must announce that there's a pretty big chance that Lorrie Morgan will NOT be a part of the 1994 country rankdown as I'm trying to make it more hits-based (about top 20-ish). Maybe I could include "My Night to Howl" to break the monotony despite it missing the top 30 on radio back then? I know quite a few of y'all love her, though, so I may be singing a different tune by the time it comes around. Now, let's see some artists that will make an appearance in the '94 (and possibly '95) rankdowns! (from yours truly ) Here's some more songs from artists we've already seen (and I just feel like showcasing them )! *volume will need to be turned up* Thank you tim and Kanenrá:ke for the recommendations! Keep up the good work! bboat11 .indulgecountry Kanenrá:ke LBTrocks Glove Slap Jrod82 sabre14 George Strait Junkie austin rgreen0625 someguy castleoblivion26 tim kw9461

I'm pleasantly surprised to see Vince Gill make the top 10 in a rankdown for a change but I suspect we'll see him leave within the next few reveals; "Life's A Dance" will probably make it close to the top 5 before bowing out. Other songs I see leaving before the top 5 are "Easy Come, Easy Go," "Should've Been a Cowboy," and maybe "Tell Me Why." That would leave "I'm In a Hurry," "Walkaway Joe," "My Baby Loves Me," "Blame It On Your Heart," and "Heartland" gunning for a top 5 appearance.

Hopefully George Strait will be out #10 and #9. Surprised in an off year he still managed three songs in the top 11.

How I'm feeling with y'all seeing my top three already! 10. Wynonna - Tell Me WhyBillboard Hot Country Songs Peak: 3 Billboard Hot 100 Peak: 77 Billboard Adult Contemporary Peak: 24 Billboard Hot Country Songs of 1993: 27 Total Points: 536 Average Rank: 35.73333333 Standard Deviation: 28.02923644 Cody Wants Out... - 3 .indulgecountry - 5 someguy - 6 Glove Slap - 8 kw9461 - 17 bboat11 - 22 LBTrocks - 25 Kanenrá:ke - 29 castleoblivion26 - 35 tim - 38 austin - 45 Jrod82 - 70 sabre14 - 70 George Strait Junkie - 81 rgreen0625 - 82
That "ay-yi-yi" is also a part of the hook/chorus from Wynonna's second minor crossover hit and title track from her sophomore album. :kii: As ya'll can see, five top 20s are shown here, including my #3, meaning that I only have one top five left! For the most part, this was a relatively easy top 20 contender throughout submissions, despite a few mild bottom-half placements.

Hands down Wynonna's best song. She completely ate the vocal on this and that melody is so strong. This song sounds like it's cut from the same cloth as the bulk of Jo Dee Messina's 90s hits. Love it.

Happy to see “Easy Come, Easy Go” make the top 10! I likely would’ve placed this in my top 10 but tbh I’ve personally played this song to death lol. I remember George saying he had to put up a fight with Dean Dillon to allow him to record it because Dean really wanted to use it as the lead single for his 1993 album. Dean relented and George went on to score his 25th #1 song.
