Lordeftones 2: ""Indie"" (REVEALING)

Oh hey, didn't see you come in there. Welcome back to another Lordeftones rankdown. This time the updates are quicker and the music even less popular!

Nah, I just but with everyone doing indie rankdowns I thought I would do one of my own. I put the quotations there because of how broad I cast the Indie genre net.

This rankdown is based solely on my Discovered Weekly playlist on Spotify. Each one of these songs I discovered through Spotify and most of these are artists I have never heard of before. My hope with this rankdown is to hook a lot of you guys onto some new music by some artists that maybe aren't as well known. I'm sure a lot of these I have tried to put in tournament games to little success (except Black Mire) but rankdowns definitely call for more intimate opinions when it comes to listening.

So here is the list. I'm not putting the playlist up until I tag people and I'm not gonna tag people until I finish this opening post lol. The deadline is current set for May 15th . That gives everyone a month and gives me time to get through my first two festivals of the year.

Woah you weren’t familiar with Daylight until recently?

Anyways I haven’t been too into rankdowns recently and I know literally 0 of the songs on here (I may recognize that EDEN song when I hear it though) but I *may* actually do this since it’s not too long and you have generally have pretty good taste in music (although you somehow don’t like One Armed Scissor or Modest Mouse...)

I don't know everything on there, but I'm rooting for "Darker" as it is an absolutely fantastic song

"Typical" is the only song in the rankdown to not cross 100 points. #29 is tied for 4th Highest SD and features our third top five loss. We also see a few more #30s leave.

Sure, I like every song in this rankdown. But this one has definitely burned on me a lot. You guys made find it easy to hate on Matt and Kim, but I don't, they're just so fun. This was one of the first songs I discovered from Spotify in late 2015 and it was infectious for a while but burned on me hard.

Certainly didn't burn on Albie though. (unless it did now it has been a year)

For our #28 we have our 10th highest SD and the only song in the rankdown with no top tens. This song struggled early on and throughout the rankdown, even spending time at the bottom. We relinquish two bottom fives with this reveal.

Call me crazy but this might be my favorite version of this song. I might like the Robert Plant version better, but something about the live recording of this really captures the vibe and I think John Grouplove sounds better over this type of music, though tbf I don't think Dylan or Jack White have particularly great voices either.

Already two of our most radio successful bands have left, leaving Banks.

We come to our 12th highest SD at 27, a song that managed one top ten but for the most part stuck around the middle of most lists. Only two bottom fives leave us.

This song impacted in a group of a few others around the turn of Autumn 2016. Something about this song just invokes the falls of Wilmington for me, a very wistful melancholy that this song carries with it. 

First top ten loss for our only viewer currently.
