Why did they give her that body type in the video? I see what they were going for, but not getting Dua vibes from it. Wonder how this song is going to do? Not sure how much of a push they'll give it, don't see too much hype so far but it's just starting. BMH still has about a month or 2 left in the US so I'm assuming we'll get the next worldwide single by September, whether that's "Levitating" or a new release.

Dua already has a good bunch of followers in Latin America, but this collaboration is going to do wonders to her, independently if the song is good or not, I guess.

Brazil and Mexico are among her biggest supporters. But Argentina, Chile, etc.. have also been countries where the FN era has been doing really great. If the song is good, this could really be huge.

Dua was interviewed by Capital FM and she mentioned that it was always going to be "Hallucinate" to be released as the next single after "Break My Heart".

Just my opinion. *shrug* People are dying, the worldUSA's in shambles and it just seemed like a distasteful time to promote your elite island getaway. Reminds me of David Geffen sharing his "social distancing" pics on his resplendent yacht. I guess it didn't sit well with me. That being said, I like her and hope she's enjoying her vacation. As an American living in Europe (Spain), we couldn't leave our houses for 3 months or see literally anyone, so this is the first week we can go on vacation! We deserve it! Sorry to Americans but you guys still saw friends and family, left your house to go out, and a lot of people still don't wear masks. I hope it changes! late response is late but I feel like this meme is Americans watching the rest of the world get to move on with their lives now lol

ugh dua. she was obviously just standing up for her home but her team really needs to control what she posts cause obviously it could be seen as something very negative. same thing happened with the pro Palestine post where people interpreted it as anti semitic.

She actually didn't post this on Twitter. I mean, just to clarify, it's her post because she posted that on Instagram, but what I'm trying to say is that it's been known that Dua rarely tweets nowadays and it's her team who does that instead. The exceptions, of course, are if the device of the tweets are from an iPhone, which she uses, and not from an Android, which is used by her team and they could have simply avoided posting that there.
Regarding that post, I can't give any proper opinion because I'm not truly informed about the matter. However, as far as I've checked, it's been seen as something negative because it implies that she's supporting the Greater Albania movement in the Balkans and every Greater [insert country] movement in Southeastern Europe is a form of nationalism, which lead to tons of awful conflict and genocide in the past, so it's not something good of course. As a side note, the tweet below points out that the aforementioned is a misinterpretation of what Dua wanted to say with that picture though.

Adding to that, I found this tweet from an Albanian user explaining the underlying tones of her tweet. I interpreted it as a way of her saying "Albanians do belong in this corner of the world" rather than a militarist/irredentist tone of "Albania should annex this territory." But I do understand why it is controversial.

I find chart data always tweet Spotify milestones a day or two early but it's close enough. Congrats Dua 4 songs over 1B streams is massive.

ugh dua. she was obviously just standing up for her home but her team really needs to control what she posts cause obviously it could be seen as something very negative. same thing happened with the pro Palestine post where people interpreted it as anti semitic. It comes out as negative because it is negative. If she just posted this with a NORMAL borders of Albania everything whould be fine.
The picture is the problem.
The picture has territorry of today's countries: (North-West & West)Greece, almost whole(North, South & West) Macedonia, (South) Serbia, whole Kosovo(which isn't as big of a deal as the other counties - because of ethnic similarity), a small part of (South & East) Montenegro, and a tiny tiny bit of Bulgaria (like 2%).
This is the exact same as saying you support George Floyd protests while posting a NAZI picture.
FUCК Dua Lipa until she apologizes Juan Carlos Her message was on point, but the picture is not. I would like to believe that she is just miseducated on the matter, and posted the picture without knowing what it means (hopefully). because there isn't anything bad in the words she said, and the picture doesn't seem to corelate to the words. Maybe she was looking for a picture to prove that Albanians were always part of the Balcan ( they are/were) and posted this picture without knowing what it means (at least that is what i would like to belive coz i like her). But posting a picture from Greater Albania is a NO NO.
Her name means LOVE so hopefully this is just a missundertanding from her part.

I understand what she means by that and she's kind of right, but her posting that nationalistic propaganda picture including the island of Corfu is not a good look. It is super funny though. Calling her nazi is a bit much imo. Wish she would've made a text post, it wouldn't have stirred up this nationalistic shitstorm.

Yup posting text only wouldn't be problematic (because she is right), but that picture is not. Calling her nazi may be too much, but she is causing hatred (weather knowingly or unknowingly remains to be seen - 99% the later). And it is NOT ONLY Corfu. Here you go:

If she was a Greek-Albanian popstar with a local career in Greece and posted that, she'd get annihilated and cancelled by everyone. Actually there have been quite a few Greek-Albanian popstars who got heat for expressing far less controversial opinions on the matter. That picture is NOT it but I don't think her message was meant to be taken in the nationalistic idea of Greater Albania either.

I saw this in other forums as well
Her post is as politically correct as if she wrote that black people in US deserved to be slaves and should have remained slaves
And to justify that You can find a tweet or post from TeamWhiteSupremacy and post it as a valid justification of her words
So sad... all her songs were # 1 in Serbia And currently she is #2 & #9
I guess the same is in Greece, Macedonia and Montenegro
I know that Serbian radio will not stop playing her songs... but ... to play songs of someone who wish you evil...

Calling someone a Nazi just because she expressed her opinion on a subject is extreme and damaging. I get that artists should be extra careful with what they post but this might be mistake on her part, we shouldn't condemn or judge someone without letting her explain herself. This cancel culture is so toxic, wouldn't it be better if we let people learn from their mistakes and educate themselves? Of course not everyone can or will do that but imo while we should let people know that they make mistakes, we should give them time to correct them.

Not familiar enough with the subject to have an opinion tbh. I have to do some reading.
Still gonna bop to FN tho.

honestly i really think she should clear the air but it’s obvious that she won’t. obviously i’m not fully educated on the subject but i still don’t see anything she clearly did wrong. isn’t the picture just “old albania” or the ethnic borders? correct me if i’m wrong. also this isn’t the first time where she was cancelled by serbs if i remember correctly.

Who, for those that don't know, had previously claimed Brazilian and Mexican heritage because she feared that admitting she was of Albanian origin would be career-ending in Greece. But yes, it's Dua Lipa, the child of refugees, who is an ethno-nationalist.

Apple erasing Kosovo from its maps prompted Dua to post an IG story, calling for them to correct this and the erasure of Palestine. The reaction she got from Serb nationalists was swift, as it usually is whenever she draws awareness to the issue of international Kosovo recognition. In fact, Dua Lipa is *constantly* the target of Serb nationalists who find her existence and now fame so threatening. Don't believe me? Look in the comments for just about every f**king Instagram post she has made. This time, she chose to fire back and remind them that, yes, we do belong and their racist race science arguments and various tinfoil hat origin stories about us will never change that. Albanians do not have a history of genocidal expansionism. The same is not true for their regional neighbors. Albanians are not active in fascist parties or organizations. The same is also not true for their neighbors. The idea that Dua Lipa or any Albanian for that matter is a neo-Nazi is preposterous for any credible Balkan watcher. Why? Because neo-Nazis across the west are commonly inspired by Serbian genocidaires who've organized pogroms on their Muslim neighbors on the premise that they are "foreigners," "Turks," or "Arab invaders." Let me reiterate: massacres in the Balkans against native (that is, autochthonous) populations, be they Albanians or Bosniaks, have been carried out under the assumption that they do not belong there. But of course I had wake up to dumb f**king stan twitter boosting brain dead leftists who mourn the dissolution of Yugoslavia and Serbian nationalists who are openly arguing that Albanians are not native to the Balkans. I swear to God, stans, the Yugoslav Wars happened in most of our lifetimes. You don't have to reach far back into history to understand how bananas the reaction has been. Hell, look up Republika Srpska today. That is a genocidal entity. Unlike them, Albanians have never perpetrated a genocide. They've only been the target of extermination, culturecide, "population transfers," etc. Want the cliff notes? Do yourselves a favor and read this thread from top to bottom:

Mic Technique Just 1 question: where are you from ? - The problem that Balkan has is too many foreigners giving their 2 pennies on things they know nothing about. I’m Albanian from Montenegro, where my family has resided for centuries. I am from Macedonia, and your post is a bit biased. I am not defending the Serbs in some of the things they have done, but the albanians through the history are not as innocent as you painted them to be.
If you don't know since you have NYC in bio, there are 2 official languages in my coutry: Macedonian & Albanian. So i don't have any problem with Albanians(or any nation). One of the Neighbours that have "fascist parties or organizations" is my country whould you care to explain how . . .
Edit: And how would you feel if a Macedonian celebrity (there isn't any lmao) posted a picture that involved territories of Albania, because there are macedonians living there.
Edit 2: Do you know what UÇK is ? - if "the Yugoslav Wars happened in most of our lifetimes"... s**t this is 2001. Should i open my mouth about 2015. ??
Edit 3: I don't plan to argue over the internet over history when it never brings anything good, only pain. Just wanted to say that there is always another side to the story, and you shouldn't put all eggs in the same basket (every country isn't the same).
