Are we ignoring the possibilities that either a) a lot of Kanye supporters also support Trump or b) Kanye might actually gain new fans who are Trump supporters? All of these assumptions about whether or not Kanye will remain successful seem to just base themselves on the idea that everyone hates Trump. Also, how is Kanye supporting Trump news anyway? It's been blowing up of lately, I thought we'd known that forever, I know I did. Kanye's music is much too out there for conservatives. Also, what's this about Yeezus being so bizarre that everybody rejected it right away? I thought it was beloved from day 1? deleted was too, which I find odd because I thought deleted was trash but Yeesuz was fascinating. I wouldn’t say he’s music is too out there for conservatives. Most conservatives now a days are moderate enough.

Post Malone breaks the album record with 'beerbongs and bentleys' having an opening day act of 78,744,748 streams yesterday. This breaks the record set back just last week by J. Cole with 'KOD'.

Yep, both in the US and globally. He probably would've broken Apple Music record too if it wasn't for that glitch that delayed album release for a few hours.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question but wikipedia says Water Under The Bridge only peaked at #18 on Pop but I swear I remember it peaking at #9 or #10.

How does KOD's first day compare? EDIT: KOD's was 36.6 million. Gee, maybe Post Malone will beat Drake's "More Life" Hot 100 record.

why does everyone defend this vulture and his s**tty music Perhaps they genuinely enjoy his music? I like a couple tracks he's done. Not sure why he's connecting with such a wide audience but also not sure why anyone would hate the guy so much, especially in the age of streaming where you can easily avoid the hits you don't like.

Of the eleven Hip-Hop albums I've heard this year, I'd rank BB&B as my third least favorite behind Revival (Dec 2017) and The World Is Yours.
So I guess I'd give it like a 2/10
I think he's got a unique voice. I actually enjoy when he breaks and reverberates his voice to sound like a literal goat. I think that's kinda cool. I think he's got nice production. And I think overall it comes together to create an enjoyable vibe. I think his own brand R&Bish trap might even qualify to be called unique.
BUT, the album was damn boring. Very monotonous. Very samey. Barely anything to give the individual songs personality or differentiate them from each other. If there was a song on here better or more exciting than than "Rockstar", it must have been lost in between the mind numbing barrage of seemingly identical tracks.
And it kinda goes without saying that Post Malone's lyrics are entirely unremarkable. The only thing that gives his lyrics a small bit of personality is his penchant for bizarre and incongruous references to out of date white television characters like Michael Scott, The Jonas Brothers, Zach and Cody, etc.
So it wasn't outright painful to listen to. But it was pretty much completely unremarkable. As expected. And probably would have been more enjoyable if it was shorter. The only stand-out track to me so far is "Rockstar". If "Psycho" or "Candy Paint" hadn't already existed, they would have likely blended in to the background with the others. Maybe some of these tracks will stand out to me once I familiarize myself with them on an individual level in my playlists. But as of now... it just sounded like one long 60 minute croon-fest.

He has said some vulture-like anti-Hip-Hop stuff in the past. He kinda strikes people as the sort of guy who would rather be doing other types of music, but does Hip-Hop because that's what's popular. And that's what will make him the most money. why does everyone defend this vulture and his s**tty music I thought you were part of the crew who doesn't judge artists for what they do/say in their personal life? Or maybe I'm confusing you with a different user. Album is so f**king good. One of the best of the decade by a long shot. Curious as to what you loved about it, and what the best songs were that were on it. And how they stood out.

why does everyone defend this vulture and his s**tty music Why do you so consistently fail to comprehend that people can have different opinions? This isn't only regarding Post Malone, you have a consistency to push only your views and not consider that someone might have a different ones. Even when you try to give people options, it's only ones that you yourself have deemed acceptable in advance and reject any deviation at all.

Or maybe I'm confusing you with a different user. I don't like that he is always saying shit like how hip-hop can't be emotional, but if his music wasn't the same rinse and repeat stuff over and over again I would be able to stand him. I don't know how this many people like this guy's stuff.

I understand that people can like Post Malone, that doesn't mean I can't question why. And I assume you're talking about the polls I made, which looking back at, they weren't the best way to approach the questions, I just like seeing things in poll format.

Random, but I just saw that Lil Peep died last november and was confused as all hell. I mistook him for Lil Pump.
Bit late, but RIP Lil Peep.

According to my research, Post said:
“If you’re looking for lyrics, if you’re looking to cry, if you’re looking to think about life, don’t listen to hip-hop. There’s great hip-hop songs where they talk about life and they spit real sh*t, but right now, there’s not a lot of people talking about real sh*t.”
I'm only seeing the truth, what's the controversy about?

why does everyone defend this vulture and his s**tty music Because he doesn't have to pull BLM gimmicks in order to sell his music. Plus, he's a very likable personality. It's very rare to see a really down to earth rapper without this macho personality.

I mean, I like the guy and all and he's pretty gifted in comparison to most of the new generation, but of course he isn't representing black people for black freedom. HE'S WHITE.
