Both of these songs are exceptionally great although I personally enjoy “I Still Have Faith In You” significantly more than “Don’t Shut Me Down”, It sucks that the US Streams for these songs are not really good and I was hoping that they would be receiving much more streams here, I’m guessing that neither of these songs will be able to even debut in the Bubbling Under Hot 100 which would really be a darn shame. I think the entire focus of this promo campaign is to get people to buy physical product and the album. Their global streams are good - 7.5M for DSMD and 6.5M for ISHFIY to date. They have also gained 3M monthly listeners on Spotify since the release. I think a lot of people are not aware they have new music out.

Is either song being promoted at radio? It certainly would be interesting to see ABBA reach an airplay chart such as AC after all this time!

With Adele releasing later in November now, I’m curious how they’ll stack up against Ed Sheeran’s second week in the UK.
Divide did 304k in it’s second week. Not sure if the new album will do that right now, but with the lead single looking like it might get an 11th week at the top and his consistent strong streaming performance, he’ll still put up very high numbers.

ABBA Gold returns to the UK's top 5 on it's 1010th week on the chart.

Just reflecting on Abba's brilliance.
They filmed videos for many singles (and even some non-singles) in the pre-video era, all directed by a now-Oscar-nominated director - simply because they did not want to travel and the clips were the best way for them to promote their music. These videos have helped them remain relevant and accessible to new generations in a highly visual era of music and have hundreds of millions of views. They OWN that aesthetic.
Now, they are the first to have essentially recreated their 70's selves in hologram form for a tour - and will be able to perform "live" forever, carrying ABBA forward for generations to come. I'm sure Madonna is fuming about this innovation.
Their minds!

Their minds! Lol, what? Why would Madonna fume about a ologram tour? She loves touring and she'll tour as long as her health permits so she's fine. I find hologram tours extremely stupid btw. It would've been much better if they did an online show from their hometown and millions of people would pay top dollars to watch ABBA.

My comment was a simple joke, given that Madonna is usually at the vanguard of touring innovation. Anyway, back to ABBA. I think this is going to be a game-changer for legacy acts and how they are marketed well into the future. I am interested to see how it plays out.

Don't you think an online live concert would've been better than a hologram show?

Don't you think an online live concert would've been better than a hologram show? It's hard to say. ABBA has always been intensely in control of its aesthetic, and they were clear when they announced this show: people want to see us as our youthful selves, not trying to recapture that in our 70's. I think it's brilliant from a business standpoint. It's all going to depend on the execution.

My dad's friend described it as "like an odd 1970s children's album" and I don't fully disagree...! Some OK moments but not sure how much I'll come back to it.
Nothing touches Don't Shut Me Down, which is honestly so good that I wouldn't have cared if we got an album.

The album is beautiful, but I can definitely see why it wouldn't vibe with everyone. People going into it expecting something like Gold where everything is a major, obvious hit are going to be disappointed. This is very much in line with their studio albums and sits well next to them. "Keep an Eye on Dan" and "No Doubt About It" are bops and some of my favorites, but it's "Bumblebee" alongside "Don't Shut Me Down" and "Just a Notion" that really made me emotional because they're just classic ABBA.

The X-Mas ballad aside, this is really cute. When You Danced With Me is a favorite from the first listen.

#1 UK Midweeks with 118k sold already. Will likely overtake Ed Sheeran for the biggest opening of the year so far.

I expected much more considering all the hype surrounding the release. Apparently their website was crashed and store couldn't handle so many orders so that numbers could actually be much bigger.

#1 debut in the UK with ~204k sales. Amazing.
Really loving the album. "I still Have Faith In You"/"Don't Shut Me Down"/"Keep An Eye On Dan"/"When You Danced With Me"/"Just a Notion" and "No Doubt About It" are my highlights/favourites.

It took me a couple of listens to get into it. It's more of a grower. I appreciate the artistry that went into it. I definitely enjoyed the uptempos more than the downtempos.
