If Drake releases a new song and it's #1 after NFW, would that be a first? 3 songs #1 in a row by same artist?

Drake's 'Nice for What' No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100, Post Malone's 'Psycho' No. 2 & Camila Cabello's 'Never Be the Same' Hits Top 10
"Nice" leads for a fourth week, Post Malone boasts three songs in the top 10 & Cabello earns her third solo top 10.
Drake's "Nice for What" rules the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a fourth week, covering its entire run on the ranking, dating to its No. 1 debut.
Meanwhile, Post Malone sports three songs in the Hot 100's top 10 simultaneously for the first time, led by "Psycho," featuring Ty Dolla $ign, which returns to its No. 2 high, as parent album beerbongs & bentleys debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the biggest streaming week ever for an album.
Plus, Camila Cabello collects her third top 10 as a soloist, as "Never Be the Same" surges from No. 13 to No. 6 and reigns as the week's top-selling song, helped by its new remix with country artist Kane Brown.
Let's run down the top 10 of the Hot 100 (dated May 12), which blends all-genre streaming, airplay and sales data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (May 8).
As on the Hot 100, "Nice," released on Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records, spends a fourth week at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, down 9 percent to 48.5 million U.S. streams in the week ending May 3, according to Nielsen Music. It rebounds 4-3 on Digital Song Sales, although down 16 percent to 28,000 downloads sold in the week ending May 3, while jumping 17-11 on the Radio Songs chart with 61.6 million in all-format airplay audience (up 22 percent) in the week ending May 6, good for the Hot 100's top Airplay Gainer award for a third consecutive week.
Drake has now spent 35 cumulative weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, dating to his first week on top as featured on Rihanna's "What's My Name?" (Nov. 20, 2010), the first of his five No. 1s. With his latest frame at the summit, he passes Elton John for the third-most weeks at No. 1 among solo males in the chart's 59-year history. Usher leads with 47, followed by Michael Jackson (37). Among all artists, Drake passes John for a solo share of eighth place; Mariah Carey leads all acts with 79 weeks at No. 1.
"Nice" concurrently tops Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for a fourth week each.
Post Malone's "Psycho," featuring Ty Dolla $ign, rebounds 5-2 on the Hot 100, returning to its peak; it debuted at No. 2 on the chart dated March 10 and had spent the next eight weeks between Nos. 3 and 5. As Post Malone's second album, beerbongs & bentleys blasts in atop the Billboard 200, the song surges 8-2 on Streaming Songs (47.8 million, up 40 percent, as it scores the Hot 100's top Streaming Gainer nod).
Plus, the rapper/singer debuts at No. 7 on the Hot 100 with the set's "Better Now," while former eight-week Hot 100 No. 1 "Rockstar," featuring 21 Savage (also on the album), rebounds 32-8. The tracks rank at Nos. 4 (34 million) and 6 (32.1 million, up 77 percent) on Streaming Songs, respectively.
Post Malone is the 18th artist in the Hot 100's history with at least three concurrent top 10s; he's one of two such acts this week, as Drake earns the honor for a fifth straight week thanks to "Nice"; "God's Plan," down 2-3 after tallying its first 11 weeks at No. 1; and his featured turn on BlocBoy JB's "Look Alive," which holds at No. 9 after reaching No. 5.
Below "Nice," "Psycho" and "Plan," Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant to Be" is steady at No. 4 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 2. It leads the Radio Songs chart for a fifth week (130 million, down 5 percent) and Hot Country Songs for a 23rd frame.
Rounding out the Hot 100's top five, Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey's "The Middle" rises from No. 7 back to its No. 5 high, as the collab leads the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a 14th week.
Camila Cabello roars to the Hot 100's top 10, as "Never Be the Same" vaults 13-6, aided by its new remix with Kane Brown, released April 27. The song soars 10-1 on Digital Song Sales (51,000, up 120 percent, as it wins the Hot 100's sales-based top Digital Gainer honor), becoming Cabello's second leader on the list; prior single "Havana," featuring Young Thug, ruled for two weeks beginning Dec. 2. "Never" keeps at No. 4 on Radio Songs (105 million, up 5 percent) and re-enters Streaming Songs at No. 48 (14 million, up 19 percent).
Cabello earns her third Hot 100 top 10 as a soloist, following "Havana" (No. 1, one week) and "Bad Things," with Machine Gun Kelly (No. 4, 2017).
Plus, in June 2016, Fifth Harmony hit No. 4 on the Hot 100 with "Work From Home," featuring Ty Dolla $ign; Cabello was a member of the group from its 2012 inception through December 2016.
As previously reported, "Never" becomes Cabello's third solo No. 1 on the Pop Songs airplay chart.
("Same" but different: One prior hit titled "Never Be the Same" fell just shy of the Hot 100's top 10: Christopher Cross' song reached No. 15 in 1980. Honorable mention to Spanky and Our Gang's "Sunday Will Never Be the Same," which rose to No. 9 in 1967.)
The aforementioned "Better," "Rockstar" and "Look Alive" rank at Nos. 7, 8 and 9 on the Hot 100, respectively, while Ariana Grande drops to No. 10 with "No Tears Left to Cry," which debuted a week ago at No. 3. It falls 1-5 on Digital Song Sales (26,000, down 74 percent) and 5-13 on Streaming Songs (25.3 million, down 31 percent), while flying 35-23 on Radio Songs (37.6 million, up 37 percent).
Find out more Hot 100 news in the weekly "Hot 100 Chart Moves" column and by listening (and subscribing) to Billboard's Chart Beat Podcast and Pop Shop Podcast. And again, be sure to visit Billboard.com tomorrow (May 8), when all charts, including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh.

How long was the BBP/IGF run in the Hot 100 again? 26 weeks unless Drake comes up with something else. Likely won't make it What is currently climbing the charts that may interrupt his run?

No - Beatles have three in a row Whitney Houston had 7 in a row. Not uninterrupted - Beatles had 3 #1's back to back to back over a 14 week period and are the only artist to do that

Drake is still number one. Yes! I want This Is America to be number one next week, but I will be fine with Nice for What staying number one.

How about a new unreleased Drake song? 10 weeks plus out, still too early to say he has a chance. Plus we are entering summer with lots of opportunity for new releases

Plus we are entering summer with lots of opportunity for new releases I thought the record was most consecutive weeks at #1 for one act, not most consecutive weeks with two songs? There are several records being mentioned: 1. Back-to-back(to back) #1s meaning an artist replacing themselves at #1. The Beatles replaced themselves twice in a row, for three #1s literally in a row. 2. Consecutive #1s in terms of charted singles, but not an artist replacing themselves at #1. Whitney Houston had 7 #1s in a row in the 80s, though it should be noted during that run she had a single that didn't chart. 3. You seem to be referencing most weeks in a row at #1 with multiple singles. You first asked about this with the BEP question.

This week marks Rockstar's 25th in the Top 10, it capped off 24 from October 7th 2017 to March 10th, 8 of which were spent at #1. Interesting enough it's last Top 10 position was #8.

I was suggesting with the Drake singles that unless Nice For What can mount a 15 week run, another Drake single would be needed to go after the Black Eyed Peas record

No - Beatles have three in a row Whitney Houston had 7 in a row. Whitney had 7 consecutively released singles between Oct 1985 and Apr 1988 that hit #1; they didn't go to #1 right after each other without any other songs in between. The Beatles had 3 singles in 1964 that went to #1 right after each other, "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "She Loves You," and ''Can't Buy Me Love." To date, no one else has ever done this (although Usher came close).

Usher would have done if that random American Idol song did not come out of no where to block it.

Post Malone is the 18th artist in history to have 3 top 10's simultaneously.
A feat that is becoming increasingly common in the "album-bomb" era

At least it wasn't three random debuts a la J.Cole; Rockstar and Psycho have both done well on multiple metrics for a while now.
Congrats to Camila. Ariana held on to that top 10 spot! I'm not sure if it can spend a few more weeks there but it's safe to say that #3 will be it's peak.

So who are all the artists who have had 17-25 weeks in a row at #1?
Would Drake and BEP be the only artists to get 17 or more?
And no word on Post Malone yet?

If I'm not mistaken, Trap Queen is the only other rap song with 25+ weeks in the top 10. Now it's almost guaranteed that rockstar is gonna pass Thrift Shop as the biggest rap hit of the decade (using Billboard's decade-end chart) in 3-4 weeks.

Drake, Ed Sheeran Help Sony/ATV Writers Spend a Full Year at No. 1 On the Hot 100
News
By Dan Rys | May 07, 2018 4:12 PM EDT
Sony/ATV Music Publishing has kicked off 2018 on the right foot, landing at No. 1 among the top 10 music publishers for the first quarter. But now, the world's largest music publisher has earned a new distinction: as Drake's "Nice For What" notches its fourth straight week atop the Hot 100, Sony/ATV's writers have remained at No. 1 on the chart for 52 weeks straight, or a full calendar year, dating back to last May.
“This is an incredible accomplishment by our worldwide A&R team," chairman/CEO Martin Bandier said in a statement. "At Sony/ATV we strive to be successful creatively on a global basis and the fruits of our labor are shown by the diversity of our songwriters who have been No. 1 on the Hot 100 over the past year.”
The streak began in May 2017 when Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," feat. Justin Bieber, climbed to the summit, where it remained for a record-tying 16 weeks straight. (Fonsi, Yankee and songwriter Erika Ender are all signed to Sony/ATV.) That was followed by Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" (three weeks); Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" (three weeks); Post Malone's "rockstar" feat. 21 Savage (eight weeks); Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" (six weeks); Camila Cabello's "Havana" feat. Young Thug (one week); Drake's "God's Plan" (11 weeks); and "Nice For What." The Sony/ATV writers for each song can be found at the bottom of this post.
In total, 19 Sony/ATV writers have been part of the eight-song streak, with Drake ("God's Plan," "Nice For What") and Louis Bell ("rockstar," "Havana") having co-written two of those songs during the period. Of the performers on those tracks, just four (Bieber, Post Malone, 21 Savage and Young Thug) are not Sony/ATV writers, with all but Malone featured artists.
For some perspective, for the top 100 radio songs Billboard tracks each quarter, there are an average of approximately 350 writer. In taking the top slot in the first quarter of 2018, Sony/ATV earned a share in 26.24 percent of those songs, besting its closest competitor Warner/Chappell Music's 19.68 percent and giving it the No. 1 ranking in 22 of the previous 23 quarters, a run that dates back more than five years.
Check out the list of No. 1 singles and the relevant Sony/ATV writers below.
“Despacito” (Sony/ATV writers: Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, Erika Ender) “Look What You Made Me Do” (Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff) “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” (Cardi B, Jorden Thorpe) “Rockstar” (Louis Bell, Tank God) “Perfect” (Ed Sheeran) “Havana” (Camila Cabello, Louis Bell, Frank Dukes, Pharrell Williams) “God’s Plan” (Drake, Harmony Samuels) “Nice For What” (Drake, Lauryn Hill, Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman, Marvin Hamlisch)
