#38. "Bird Song"
Another album track that was featured on Lungs – The B-Sides, “Bird Song” was also released on February 27, 2011. Later that year, it would be sampled by Logic on his 2011 song “Mind of Logic”. The song sample’s the opening notes on “Bird Song” as they are lopped throughout.
The guitar riff on this really stands out. But despite getting two top 10 rankings, it didn’t do much for most people, which, again speaks to the quality of the overall discography.

Bird Song was my favourite re-discovery (out of three re-discoveries lol) when preparing my submission. Hadn't heard it in many years.

#37. "Stand By Me"
The third of the tracks recorded for the Songs from Final Fantasy XV EP, “Stand By Me” is, of course, a cover of the Ben E. King classic from the 60’s. It was featured on the soundtrack and trailer of Final Fantasy XV in 2016. The cover peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot Rock Singles in December 2016 and also charted in France, Israel and Belgium.
While this song has been covered to no end, Florence brings her harp and magic touch to it but still maintains the classic sound to it. This one was sort of divisive as some loved it and some didn’t receiving handful of top 20 rankings but mostly rankings in the bottom half.

#36. "Long & Lost"
The first loss for How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful comes in the form of “Long & Lost”. While not an official single, it did receive a music video as part of The Odyssey. Starting on February 12, 2015, the band released a series of Vincent Haycock-directed music videos for several songs from the album, with each video acting as a chapter in a story titled The Odyssey. Haycock explained that The Odyssey follows "Florence's personal journey to find herself again after the emotional storm of a heartbreak. Like the layers of Dante's purgatory, each song or chapter represents a battle that Florence traversed and physical landscape that embodied each song or story." The music video was for “Queen of Peace” was issued on July 27, 2015 as a 10-minute double-feature, including "Long and Lost", and was filmed on the Scottish island of Easdale. After being slighted in “Queen of Peace”, with “Long & Lost”, Florence considers returning to her lover, but wonders if it’s even worth it. A poem, written by Florence, follows the music video. The dual video is featured above. “Long & Lost” begins around the 6:00 mark. “Long & Lost” audio is also found above. 45. I will be (34): nice discovery! Reminded me of songs by Enya, whom I love. Didn’t deserve last place 44. Addicted to love (44): I really like the original. This version killed the vibe and attitude of the original and turned it into disposable boring filler IMO. An unnecessary cover that I think was included in a TV commercial, and I got upset about it lol 43. Tiny Dancer (36): this one was more respectful of the original melody and vibe, but gave it a bit of Florence touch to make it different enough. One of her best efforts for a cover of a popular song IMO 42. Over the love (42): the melody was good, but I'm not here for Yell-orence. That high-pitched voice in the chorus was rough, and things got almost unlistenable when she turned into a goat in the last minute. One of the most jarring vocals I’ve recently heard. 41. Hardest of hearts (13): I really liked this mix of drama and dance floor—plus drums and strings!! The combo worked very well for me. I didn’t know what Howl was, so I didn’t have that comparison in my mind. 40. You got the dirty love (32): I’m always appreciative of left-field collaborations that don’t ruin but transform the song. I felt this one was ok, different, interesting enough. 39. Falling (38): this was cute and simple. I liked her more understated performance here, but the song wasn’t interesting enough for me to rank it higher. 38. Bird Song (37): also cute, and I liked the more indie vibe of this one. It got a bit messier for my liking in the second half, which led me to rank it this low. 37. Stand by me (41): A cover that did respect the original, but didn’t add much, so it falls in the category of unnecessary covers IMO. 36. Long and Lost (30): I really like how she sounds here. It’s just that the song was just there and I was waiting for something else to come. Here is where I started to have trouble ranking songs though...

Glad these songs I don't care for are getting out the way of her better material. Lol. My songs are still alive ^.^
I'm gonna go out on a limb & predict the Top F+TM song will either come from the debut or sophomore effort. I haven't pinpoint any particular song(s), yet. Stay tuned.
I love that 'GWOE' performance.

#35. "Breath of Life"
“Breath of Life" was recorded exclusively for the 2012 film Snow White and the Huntsman. It was released on April 26, 2012 on iTunes. The song was nominated for the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. "Breath of Life" peaked at number eighty-seven on the UK Singles chart and number 11 on US Bubbling Under chart. It also charted in Australia, Austria, France, Germany and Ireland. The music video for "Breath of Life" was directed by Scott Murray and premiered on YouTube on May 14, 2012. The video has received a nomination for Best Video from a Film at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards Japan. Something about the production and the song as a whole is very medieval and fitting for the soundtrack it came from. Florence and Isabella Summers confirmed that the song is based on Queen Ravenna, the film’s villain. Not among the highest of SDs, but rankings for this were all over the place. What helped it stay out of the bottom 10 was the #1 ranking it received. My condolences Leo ✔ . Total Points: 355 Standard Deviation: 11.11Average Ranking: 29.73 Rankings:

I'm not surprised. It is indeed haunting & a nice song, just not that memorable. It's definitely one of my least favorite soundtrack songs of hers. I'm certain 'Heavy In Your Arms' & 'Wish That You Were Here' are a lot higher.

#34. "My Boy Builds Coffins"
Taken from the standard edition of Lungs, “My Boy Builds Coffins” is an album track which differs a bit, sonically, from the rest of the album. Florence talks about it how this song was inspired by an actual incident that happened when she was going out with a member of the punk band, The Ludes. She explained: This, too, was all over the place as we had rankings in the top 10 and everything in between. This was in the bottom 5 for a good chunk of time, as it received a #45 ranking, but thanks to the final handful of rankings, it bounced back. Congrats to newpower for being the first to clear his bottom 5. Total Points: 361 Standard Deviation: 11.28Average Ranking: 28.91 Rankings:

#33. "Between Two Lungs"
Another album track from the standard edition of Lungs, “Between Two Lungs” is one of the first songs that Florence wrote, along with Isabella Summers – technically the first member of “The Machine”. Before conceptualizing the album, Florence and Summers created more of a punk sound as evidenced by first single “Kiss with a Fist”. Ultimately, the majority of the earlier self-penned compositions were rejected for the album because they did not mesh well with the album's themes, except "Kiss with a Fist" and "Between Two Lungs". This also came to be the title of the 2011 Lungs re-release.
Two top 10 losses here, including one for yours truly. I’ve always been really partial to the vocals on this one but maybe the lyrics don’t resonate with some?

'BTL' is a solid track. I love the build up in the song. It's just not Top 10 worthy, IMO. Lol.
I understand why so many songs from "LUNGS" are exiting so early. It's kinda weird for me because I can honestly say that is my favorite album to play (because a great portion of my favorite songs from their comes from that album), however I know it's not their best material overall. I would still sat hands down "CEREMONIALS" is their best album.

#32. "Strangeness and Charm"
“Strangeness and Charm” is featured on Between Two Lungs, disc two, and later, on the deluxe edition of Ceremonials. It was one of the earliest songs to be written and included on Ceremonials. It debuted live during the Lungs tour – premiering on May 2nd, 2010. It was performed during the tour a further fifty-two times, up until July 2011. The song describes love on an atomic basis. “Strangeness and Charm” refer to quarks, the smallest known type of matter. There are six types of quarks: up, down, strange, top/truth, charm, and bottom/beauty. It was inspired by a conversation about science Florence had with her father, a former advertising executive who later ran an organic campsite. I struggled not to put this in my top 10 otherwise I’d have kept Zach company on his top 10 loss. I’ve always loved the chorus on this one and the song is just so quirky. I am side-eyeing Sambalada but congrats on your #45 loss. And extra special congrats to rgreen0625 who is next to clear his bottom 5.
