Wow, I'm shocked a new Gambino track had enough pull to debut at #1. Really great to see, though. A track like this at #1 is certainly much more interesting than whatever NFW is.

Simon's prediction is what it is a "prediction". If this had a shot at #1 and Billboard cared to write about it, they would have mentioned something like "could debut at #1" or "might debut at #1" Top 5 it is. Because Billboard underestimating their prediction is completely impossible and could never happen lmao. Billboard could always update their article/prediction as the chart reveal gets closer.

Why in the nine hells is that mediocre Kane Brown song rising to #15? "You Make It Easy", "Marry Me" and even Brown's own "What Ifs" (a far better song) couldn't get that high. The day I'll see a positive post by you I'll cry. "Heaven" would have been #20 on this week chart without Malone's album bomb. Is nice to see good country hits getting traction on the charts.

Billboard knows their own formula better than we do? Sure it could happen but since they took the time to write about it, it is more likely than not that this is NOT a #1 debut They literally said Nice for What was looking to debut top 10, and *perhaps* maybe go top 5. www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8301241/drake-nice-for-what-hot-100-top-10-projectionTheir predictions are usually always conservative with songs debuting on Hot 100. Even when a song clearly has huge numbers and is 100% debuting at #1 they say words like 'possibly', 'might challenge', 'looking to'. They just never like to say anything bold and confirming before it happens because of the possibility of unpredictable circumstances before the week ends. Them saying it'll debut top 5 simply doesn't mean it has 0% chance to debut #1.

What Ifs is far better than Heaven, but I am not upset that Heaven is getting this high. What does upset me is that What Ifs wasn’t able to get even higher

When What Ifs was rising at the time, I was wishing it gets Top 20, but it doesn't. Now Heaven gets Top 20 after an album bomb. I mean, Heaven is not bad, but What Ifs still honestly deserved so much better.

Glad if TIA debuts at no.1 but lastweek simms early prediction for the no.1 song was psycho and on the final prediction was NFW.

Off Topic (kinda) but this reinforces the idea even more than if formation was released conventionally (YouTube plus Spotify plus iTunes) it would've EASILY debuted at one. How? Just because they're both about woke themes and had a lot of social media attention? It could have also been like "White Privilege", which never even debuted. You never know.

Regarding, This is America's streams according to Music Insights, it had a reported 18,125,369 U.S. views through Monday. So the "over 20 million U.S. streams" for it mentioned in the Billboard article, includes yesterday's numbers. U.S. YouTube Music Insights 5/4-5/7/2018

As said last month, almost every single #1 is going to have debuted #1 in the future it seems! Oh god, the Hot 100 is turning into the Billboard 200 chart. and vice versa?

How long until we see artists start doing tour bundles with digital singles too. Suddenly legacy acts will debut top 10 on Hot 100 due to selling 200K+ of their new single given with purchase of tour tickets

Honestly, I'm kinda surprised it's never happened before. I guess including an album in a bundle feels like you're giving away a much bigger gift than including a single in a bundle. Also, I'm guessing those bundles are always for physical copies rather than digital, right?

And it happens primarily with albums because obviously that's the more impressive/bigger project to boost. However, many artists are starting to put tour tickets on sale before the album even drops or while they aren't even working on an album (Kenny Chesney using bundles for a live version of his album, Bon Jovi & Metallica using bundles for albums that were over a year old). So I can eventually see an artist trying to incorporate tour bundles on Hot 100 with a song.

So, in terms of content, this would be the most politically charged #1 ever. If I recall, other overtly 'protest' songs that hit #1 include "Eve of Destruction", "War", "You Haven't Done Nothing", "Indian Reservation", "Sounds of Silence", "Ballad of the Green Berets", "The Way It Is"… Any other obvious ones?

^That and the fact it was released during SNL, giving it just over 5 days worth of activity in streaming and digital sales. It is just started on radio.
That said. I'm hoping it pulls through and debuts at #1.
