It feels like it's been a million years since Disney Channel announced that a High School Musical 4 is on the way. And even though you've been waiting forever, details about the movie are still few and far between. That's why we decided to compile every single fact we know about the highly-anticipated sequel into one list!

Here's everything you need to know:
1. It's going to star five brand new characters.

Although HSM4 won't be following Troy, Gabriella and the crew in favor of getting to know a brand new gang of East High students, you'll definitely see some similarities between the original cast of characters and the newbies.

Erin — A badass soccer player who strives for excellence — and the only girl on the boys' team. She starts falling for Derek, the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, but isn't sure whether to follow her heart.

Derek — The resident bad boy who falls for Erin. He's tough as nails on the surface but is a soft-hearted family guy deep down. He's an excellent soccer player and incredible dancer who teaches dance classes to little girls at his family's studio.

Campbell — Troy Bolton 2.0, Campbell is a super hot soccer captain and theater star who also happens to be Sharpay and Ryan Evans' cousin. He decides that he wants to date Erin, and isn't too happy when she wants to be with Derek instead.

Nathalie — East High's biggest fan. She's a loyal, outgoing cheerleader and big-hearted BFF to Erin.

Tamara — East High's former queen bee who's attempting to climb back up the social ladder.
2. None of the original cast are returning... yet.

If you were hoping that some of the original characters would return to the halls of East High as teachers, or parents, or ANYTHING really, don't get your hopes up. While most of the original cast has expressed excitement over the prospect of a High School Musical 4, they have pretty much dashed any hope of reprising their iconic roles.

"No," Ashley Tisdale told New You when asked if she'd reprise her role as theater mean girl, Sharpay, in the sequel. "Looking back, it was such a perfect thing for its time and was so pure that I just don’t know how you go from there. High School Musical didn’t make us, we made High School Musical because of our friendship, how close we were, and the magic there at the time. Kenny Ortega just made it what it was. Disney is an amazing company so I’m sure they’ll find some way to do it."
3. There is one original cast member who's down to return, though...

And that's Coach Bolton himself, Bart Johnson.

Zac Efron's TV dad has voiced his enthusiasm about reprising his role of Coach Bolton many times on social media. He's even pitched his own idea for a spinoff starring Coach Bolton and Ms. Darbus.

"I got a bone to pick with that W. High coach and Ms. d and the drama department can help me get even," he wrote on Instagram. "I though that kooky Sharpay nut job was coming back to help out with the actor weirdos anyway. Where she at tho? I still got those digits form the school database so let’s ring crazy up and get her and her bro back to put this dance battle together and LETS GO!! I’m ready and I’ve got YEARS worth of plans and ideas moving forward in the East vs West battle so LET GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
4. Disney Channel is searching for unknown actors to fill new roles.

Although no casting announcements have been made officially for the new movie, Disney Channel held an open casting call from April 18 to May 2 where acting hopefuls were able to upload audition tapes for consideration to star in the movie.
5. There's going to be a TV series, too.

It's unclear how the recently announced High School Musical TV series will fit into the HSM world, but many fans think that the movie could set up the series, which is set to premiere on Disney's streaming service when it becomes available to fans in 2019.

In a non music topic Why is there a HSM4? Timing just doesn't seem right to me and it would've made sense if they made it on the anniversary of the first one. I dunno it just bothers me for some odd reason.

Off Topic (kinda) but this reinforces the idea even more than if formation was released conventionally (YouTube plus Spotify plus iTunes) it would've EASILY debuted at one.

Childish Gambino's new single "This Is America" is off to an especially strong start in streaming and sales.

According to industry forecasters and building Nielsen Music data, the buzzworthy song -- released along with its official video just after Donald Glover's musical alter ego took the stage as the musical guest on NBC's Saturday Night Live May 5 (as Glover hosted) -- has drawn over 20 million U.S. streams and 2 million in radio airplay audience and sold over 50,000 downloads so far through the tracking week.

When projected over a full week, the song should challenge for a debut in the top five of next week's Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 19); the Hot 100 blends weekly streaming, airplay and sales data, according to Nielsen Music.

Childish Gambino, whose "America" marks his first release on RCA Records, hit a No. 12 Hot 100 high last August with his fourth and most entry on the chart, "Redbone." His three prior charted titles, in 2013-16, peaked between Nos. 64 and 86.

Check back this week for updates on the song's building streaming, sales and airplay totals and further projections of how high it could launch on the Hot 100. Highlights of next week's Hot 100 will post on Billboard.com Monday (May 14), with all charts posting the following day (May 15).

It’s weird they say over 20 million streams because it should say 25 or even 30 at a minimum. It has almost 6 million from Spotify alone, and don’t the YouTube streams through yesterday total like 20 million? Add in other streaming and it’s easily past 30 million for the week. Maybe they didn’t have all of that data at the time that was published.

Simon's prediction is what it is a "prediction". If this had a shot at #1 and Billboard cared to write about it, they would have mentioned something like "could debut at #1" or "might debut at #1"

The artist has smashed all of his previous YouTube records.

There's a lot to unpack in Childish Gambino's powerful "This Is America" video, which has been the talk of the Twitterverse since he unleashed the new song and accompanying visual on Saturday night (May 5), shortly after he took over Saturday Night Live.

In the days since its release, the "This Is America" video has amassed over 50 million views on YouTube, breaking all of Gambino's previous records of the video platform.

For starters, Gambino's new video garnered close to one million views in the first hour and soared to an estimated 12.9 million views in the first 24 hours, a rep from the platform confirmed to Billboard. What's more, the "This Is America" video has become one of this year's biggest music video debuts and was the most watched video on YouTube from Sunday (May 6) to Tuesday (May 8).

In the four-minute visual, Gambino tackles a myriad of topics that have affected the black community in America, including police brutality, gun violence, and mass shootings.

The timely visual comes on the heels Kanye West's controversial Twitter spree, in which the rapper repeatedly endorsed Donald Trump and made an ill-advised comment about slavery.

That is absolutely the truth. It debuted at number ten after almost three months of its release based upon iTunes sales alone. Its being on iTunes and all streaming platforms with the Super Bowl performance is enough to have secured the number one.

"This Is America" is shaping up to be for Childish Gambino what "HUMBLE." was for Kendrick Lamar. Successful (though not commercially massive) and respected artists with a lot of buzz galvanizing all their career momentum into an unstoppable, challenging hit song that elevates them to even higher levels. I love it.
