1. Born Again 2. Motorbike 3. Steam 4. Why Don’t You Touch Me 5. Magnolias 6. Gold-Diggers (Junior’s Fanfare) 7. Details 8. Sho Nuff 9. Sweeter feat. Terrace Martin 10. Don’t Worry feat. Ink 11. Blue Mesas Leon’s third album, produced by Ricky Reed and Nate Mercereau, was released on July 23rd, 2021. (#39 Triple A) (#3 Triple A)
1. Bet Ain't Worth the Hand 2. Bad Bad News 3. Shy 4. Beyond 5. Forgive You 6. Lions 7. If It Feels Good (Then It Must Be) 8. You Don't Know 9. Mrs. 10. Georgia to Texas Leon's sophomore album, executive produced by Ricky Reed, was released on May 4th, 2018. It debuted at #1 on R&B Albums and #3 on Top 200 with 66k SPS (59k sales). The album earned a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album while Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand tied with PJ Morton and Yebba’s How Deep Is Your Love for the Best Traditional R&B Performance win. (#17 Adult R&B) (#1 Triple A) (#2 Triple A; #19 Adult R&B; #19 Adult Top 40; #21 Hot R&B Songs) (#7 Triple A) One of my top albums of the year easily! Ricky really helped him hone in on a sound/style that retains that overt soul influence but sounds authentic and fresh instead of a reductive rehash of music from the throwback era.

Glad to see he's about to score a second Top 10 album. I LOVE "Bad Bad News".

I love Bad Bad News but his first album is a masterpiece and from the clips, this album just isn't as good. Doesn't make it bad but I think I prefer the more classic sound of his debut. This album feels like he put too many modern touches in it and it just doesn't work for me the same as the debut.

This album feels like he put too many modern touches in it and it just doesn't work for me the same as the debut. And I feel the exact opposite. The replication of that “classic sound” almost always makes me just want to listen to actual records from that era; this feels more genuine and fresh and increases the replay value for me tremendously. But to each their own. I’m just happy he’s experiencing this kind of success right out the gate since pure R&B rarely does these days.

Awesome! I took a trip with my friend and her girlfriend to see him in New Braunfels an hr outside Austin. An outdoor venue with general admin. We got there early enough to see the opener and get in position third row from the stage. He did all of Good Thing except Lion. River was an encore and done acoustically with her backup singer. It was transcendent. He sounded great and had some swaggy moves!

Well-deserved plus I think Beyond is blowing up and one of the uptempos was used in Sharp Objects.

He should definitely be a heavy contender for AOTY at the Grammys.

The spring leg of his tour kicks off on April 10 in Charlottesville, VA with Jess Glynne as the opener. Still no Pittsburgh dates so I may have to look into OH if he doesn't magically add some more dates after Grammys.

He should definitely be a heavy contender for AOTY at the Grammys. At least he got a Best R&B Album nomination (which he deserves to win IMO).

Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand tied with PJ Morton x Yebba for Best Traditional R&B Performance. Just saw that. I can’t remember the last time there was a tie at the Grammys.

I wonder if "Shy" is getting a radio release next. It's pulling in airplay at Urban AC.

I assumed If It Feels Good would be next since it’s top-10 on AAA but I’d be fine with Shy as well.

Easily his best work to me and in my top albums of the year. Such a smooth and cohesive body of work. He, Ricky and Nate were pure magic in the studio for this one. Every song slaps!
And, for the physical collectors, I recommend the vinyl because the packaging is very nice!
