#38 is the first song to spend time outside of the bottom ten, albeit very briefly. Within two rankings, it was in the bottom five. The next ranking, it was in the bottom two. I'm kind of surprised it didn't end up at #39 instead of Devo, to be honest. Then again, it does also have our fourth-lowest standard deviation, something Devo does not have.
Just four people ranked this particular song in their bottom ten, but three are low bottom fives, and at least one poster loses yet another #40. Just one poster also ranked this song in their top half, but it's dangerously close to being a top ten loss.

This is not my favorite song off of Norma Jean's latest album, Polar Similar. It may not even be in my top three. But I've already included "Death is a Living Partner" in a rankdown, and "Everyone Talking Over Everyone Else" has been used by me elsewhere, so this will have to do.38Norma Jean - IV. Despite #37 having one of the ten lowest SDs (ninth-lowest, to be exact), it's a pretty fun reveal all the same. I was not expecting this song to be this low. It didn't look like it would be this low at first, though it seemed like it would be destined to bounce in and out of the bottom ten after a while. Then the tank came...and there was no looking back.
Six posters will lose a bottom ten here at #37, with four posters shedding a bottom five, and all but one of those bottom fives are quite low ones. Two posters lose a top half ranking here, as well, with one poster getting close to losing a top ten, but a good chunk of posters also ranked this pretty close to top half.

The album that placed Weezer back into most people's good graces, and the song off of that album that convinced me more than any other that Weezer still had more to give. For the only time in the bottom ten, we're going to see a song with a high SD fall, as the sixth-highest will bow out at #36. For a while, it looked like this song would hang out in the bottom ten for the entire rankdown. A couple of rankings came in later in the ranking process that helped push it out of the bottom ten, but that vacation out of the bottom ten was short lived, and it found itself back in the bottom five by the end.
Of the seven people to rank this song in their bottom ten, all but one belong in the bottom five, one is a perfecto, and one is a #40. A new rankdown-high four people will also lose a top half ranking, and not one, but TWO people will also lose a top ten ranking. One of those top tens is a top five.

I'm surprised I'm doing well so far. I was expecting to lose all non-bottom 10s in the bottom 10 and have them by the rankdown Top 10.
I imagine that is going to change now that I said that.

#35 couldn't seem to get out of its own way, sticking around in the bottom ten for the entire rankdown. At one point, it looked like it might challenge for the title of "Lowest Song Not Performed by Korn", but it got enough support to where this just wouldn't be the case. It bounced in and out of the bottom five a few times, at least...
Seven posters will be shedding a bottom ten ranking with the reveal of #35, though just two are bottom fives. Meanwhile, only two people will be losing a top half ranking, but one is mighty close to being a top ten ranking...and the other one IS a top ten ranking, this poster's first top ten loss.

I considered using "Deep Six" instead for Manson, but that song has already been in a rankdown, and I wanted to see how a non-charting Manson song from The Pale Emperor might fare here...not well, apparently.35Marilyn Manson - Killing StrangersPoints: 173 Standard Deviation: 9.437Rankingsaerodynamite 8 rgreen0625 11 Troy 21 singingrulebritannia 25 Web 26 peacebone 29 American Idiot 32 Daryl the Beryl 32 rowellfarm490 33 Red 33 @humanshazam 34 maine 38 @jamesflame 38

Next up, meet the song that just beat out "Killing Strangers" for the tenth-lowest SD title: #34. It's also ahead of "Killing Strangers" by a single point. Go figure. This was yet another song that spent the entire rankdown in the bottom ten, though it spent most of its rankdown fighting to escape said bottom ten. It never quite got over the hump, but it did get VERY close at least once.
Of the seven bottom tens, two are perfectos, and another two are bottom fives. Three posters will also lose a top half ranking, all having experienced losing top half rankings before, while one poster will also be losing a top ten.

#33 brings us yet another low SD, this time the eighth-lowest. This is the last song to spend every ranking in the bottom ten, and it spent the entire rankdown in a six spot range: #33-#38. Not much more to say about this song's movements, honestly.
Six posters will be getting rid of a bottom ten, with three posters losing a bottom five and one poster losing a quite low bottom five. Just two posters ranked this song in their top half, on the other hand, but both came close to ranking this song in their top ten.

You know why this particular cover works for me? Because it doesn't really try to mimic Led Zeppelin. This song does its own thing. Having Karen O on vocals doesn't hurt, either...at least for me, it doesn't. Some of you disagree.33Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross ft. #32 does not have a low SD. In fact, it has a pretty high SD, though not quite top ten highest. This may be reflected in this song's run through the rankdown, where it started out in the twenties, got blasted into the bottom five, and roared back enough to escape the bottom ten...only to be shuffled back into the bottom ten at the end of the rankdown.
Six posters will be getting rid of a bottom ten ranking with this reveal, with all but two being a bottom five. Two of those bottom fives are #40 rankings. While no one ranked this song in their top ten, six people ranked it in their top half. One is also pretty close to being a top ten, in its own right.
