It's pretty crazy how Drake is still reaching his peak almost a decade into his career. That's pretty unprecedented for a rapper. They do not have the longevity of pop/rockstars. He's probably the 2nd biggest ever rapper in America at this point, after Eminem already. Lil Wayne broke out in 99 and had his peak in 08. So the same as Drake, but 10 years earlier. Jay-Z broke out in 96 but had his peak in 09-10. Eminem broke out in 99 and arguably had his peak in 2010. So if anything, it's actually kinda common for GOAT tier rappers. And I'd say that Drake's surpassed everybody in 2016. I'd put Jay second. And Em third. Eminem's peak by a longshot was 2000-2002. Jay's peak seems like 1999-2001, but yeah you could argue 2009-2010 was bigger for him. And Jay is definitely not more successful than Eminem. Maybe more legendary, but statistics in books wise Eminem wins by a long-shot. Eminem has multiple Diamond albums, was Artist of the Decade, won an OSCAR, has the hugest sales week for a solo male artist, scored multiple #1 Hot 100 debuts, etc. He's also just flat out sold more albums and singles.

Just heard "Yes Indeed", it sucks, obviously.
Heard "Boo'd Up" for the second time too, it's cute.

Depends on what you're looking at. Eminem wins in pure sales probably, but Jay-Z probably beats him several times over in terms of radio play. I know Jay-Z has a stronger all-time Hot 100 presence. So radio has got to be the reason why. Eminem is a very sales-heavy artist.

Jay-Z broke out in 96 but had his peak in 09-10. Eminem broke out in 99 and arguably had his peak in 2010. Uhm WHAT? With Eminem its debatable. But Jay-Z's first charting song is from 1996. And I'm entirely confident that Blueprint 3 was his biggest album. And by a big margin too.

I feel like at this moment, Drake clearly has more hype around him than ever before. But Drake's 2016 will still be hard to beat. I think it'll be close.

Maybe 30 weeks Drake easily number one top 100 artists, hot 100 artists, hot 100 songs by god's plan, streaming songs(GP), streaming song artists, on-demand song(GP), on-demand artists, top artists-male, and maybe billboard 200 albums(Scorpion) in Year End charts 2018.

So Chris Wu and BTS will both enter the Hot 100 on the same week, completely unrelated to one another?

Billboard 200 is really where i saw him getting the advantage but i just remembered Drakes vast catalogue on the bb200. Okay, so assuming his albums on the bb200, 5 of them, are all collectively pulling 40k throughout the year(basically equalling Stoney) then it might be down to B&B vs Scorpion. With B&B already with a 4 week advantage, its going to be close

Wouldn't know where to get stats, but seeing as Pop radio is bigger Eminem could verywell also lead in radio. Eminem has album sales, song sales, and streaming over Jay-Z. I think that would be a better indicator than just radio regarding who's bigger. I also think Drake has passed Jay-Z in chart success honestly.

Wow at Sangria Wine debuting around #95. Not very good at all. I think they should just release She Loves Control and move on from that. yes I think so too I can't wait for the video๐,but Havana debuted also very low, even behind OMG

I think Drake will be seen like Elvis decades from now.
For the last few decades, we've generally treated the late 1950's as the "beginning of the modern music industry". And ignore people like Bing Crosby when doing stats.
I think once we're several decades into a streaming-only industry, we will look back at the 2010's as the "beginning of the modern music industry" and Drake as the artist who dominated the time period the same way Elvis dominated 1958-1963.

Yeah, Jay peaked in 99, Em peaked around 2001/2002 She wasnt speaking strictly in terms of critical reception. More like popularity and chart performance His highest selling album to date is still Hard Knock Life. Is she talking strictly about singles? That's not a very accurate way to measure the peak of an artist like Jay-Z. He and a lot of other Hip Hop superstars were overshadowed during the Boy/Girl band era of the late 90s and early 00s.

I feel like Drake's gonna block Whatever It Takes in the Top 10 Well, unfortunately Whatever It Takes is falling in Pop Radio so if it doesn't recover I don't see it entering to the top 10. Actually I think it'll probably be falling on these weeks :(
