"Duality" is now Slipknot's best performance in these year-end rock rankdowns.

Hoping that "Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)" can lead us along to a smooth victory.
But it's probably going out next since some people have no taste.

no top 4 rankings, yet it wins... well, this was still a really fun rankdown! rowellfarm490, excellent job as usual. loved the new style of hints, brought something new and interesting to the table. even if a lot of this list was bland, we still turned it into a good time

I think this was your best hosting job yet, rowellfarm490. I know it must be stressful hosting these rankdowns at times, especially with all of the work you put in, but I do hope you keep at it at least semi-regularly. You're too damn good at it to just stop hosting them entirely.

Great job hosting rowellfarm490! I know how hard it is to host one of these – especially with as many awful songs as there were in this.

That concludes the 2004 Active Rock Year-End rankdown. Thank you to all who participated and spectated. Special thanks to those who played along and provided commentary along the way. I know this was far from the best year in music quality but I still hope you had fun and found some good songs that you weren't familiar with before.
Changing things up with the previews made a world of difference for me. It saved me a lot of time and put much less stress on me. I'm not that great at writing things up but providing the stats for each song played more to my strengths.
Anyways much better music is on the horizon for Active 2003. Be on the lookout for when this rankdown gets underway.

Hey, I like Linkin Park, just not "Breaking The Habit," which I think is weak for their standards. Remember that I was one of the three who ranked "Numb" #1.

15. Numb - Linkin ParkI'm glad I killed the chances of this ending up any higher. I actually charted this. peak #40, but it was because it saturated the radio. Anyway, it's not awful. No rapping, but I don't think the sound fits Active radio. Needs more balls. I'm sorry, but could you please elaborate on this? Was it because it was a big pop hit? Because to me, it's clearly a rock song. Don't mind if I do. First; I probably should have said it fits Active now, but back than it sounded way too pop to me. I remember them playing this one inbetween; Velvet Revolver or Seether, and thinking it just through off my rock vibe completely. Not only this song, but most Linkin Park songs, just felt out of place on a Active Rock station. Back then, I didn't have many bands like Starset, to compare it to, and I even charted it for a few weeks, but listening to it now, that Starset vibe stands out like a sore thumb, and that's not the kind of rock I'm into. I've actually come to dislike the song more and more throughout the years, because more and more rock bands started to incorporate this style. I ranked it higher on the Alternative ;which sounded just right on 91x, but I just couldn't on this Active one. Not among this other songs on the list.
