I did a Janet top 40 you would think it would be easy to send list. Sorry girl but I'll participate in spirit.
Janet is the queen of pop!

I strongly dislike that I was compelled to laugh at that. Damn you.

I find it funny that in a discussion about an album by a black female, people are saying if anyone sinks "New Agenda" it's about being racist and about black male vocals taking time away from a female. Anyway, I will tell you know "New Agenda" was in the bottom half of my rankings, and it will stay that way. And I love Kanye West so there. Keep lacking melanin!

EDIT: Whelp, all those in the bottom grouping have terrible hearing. Where's the bed of coals I can rake them over??? Reveals will commence later today. In the meantime, take some good guesses with the questions below.
1. What songs do you expect/hope to see in the top-5?
2. What songs do you expect/hope to see in the bottom-5?
3. Which bonus track (70s Love Groove; And On and On; One More Chance) do you think will go the farthest?
4. Which album track do you think will go the farthest?
5. Which song do you think has the highest standard deviation (most polarizing)?
6. Which song(s) are you to prepared to drag someone for filth over tanking it/them?
1. TTWLG, If, ATAP, Throb, Again 2. Funky Big Band 3. And On And On 4. Where Are You Now? 5. Whoops Now 6. You Want This, One More Chance, Because of Love

OMC is nice, but it's just really really really basic.

Eh. This is fine with me. Before we even start I should say that ranking this album was really arbitrary and other than a few songs, I don't actually care where anything ends up. But I'll argue with y'all anyway because it's fun. Heh.

#16 is the first album track (i.e. not a single in America) to exit the rankdown (ed. note: although "Throb" did not get a physical single release in America, it was sent to radio and peaked at #66 on Hot 100 Airplay, so (at least for the sake of this rankdown), it is considered a single).
This song has the 5th-lowest SD; 13 people tanked it (bottom-3) while 7 people put it top-10. Only one person will lose a top-5.

Not necessarily the bonus track I wanted to see leave first, but I can't say I'm disappointed. Production wise OMC was a sound that she'd already done before, and to much greater effect, with the ballads on Rhythm Nation.
The Body That Loves You for 16?

Judging by the survey, I'm probably the lone top 5. No wait, I looked at the responses again, and it's apparently not what I'm thinking.

I've never gotten "Hot Fun in the Summertime" vibes from "Whoops Now."

Both of those tracks deserve their ranking. I don't understand the people who foolishly ranked both so high 😂

Whoops Now sounds like a song that would have soundtracked a 'fun & carefree' jeans commercial in the mid-90s, but would have become extremely uncool by 1998 when they got 'artier'.

#15 is the first album track that was not released as a single in any form to exit. Middle of the SD pack with another 17-point gap between "Whoops Now" and this.
13 bottom-3 ranks vs. 11 top-10 ranks; one person loses a top-5.

If it wasn't for the distinctive Jacksonisms. Whoops Now would remind me of Dianna Ross with that production and feeling it gives. Not the very best of Miss Ross but kinda.

"Whoops Now" stuck out like a sore thumb in this rankdown. I guess at least it wasn't boring like "One More Chance"...
