I currently have plans to start reveals by the end of the week; in the meantime, here are some prediction questions to get us started: 1) What will be #1? Top five? Top ten? 2) What will be #46? Bottom six? Bottom eleven? 3) What songs will have high SDs? Low SDs? Where will they place? 4) Which album track (Once You've Loved Somebody, Skeletons, Nothin' Like the First Time, That's Where I'll Be, World Wide Open, Downside of Growing Up, Nowhere Fast, Holes, and Man Goin' Down) will be out first? Last? 5) Which duo (Sweethearts of the Rodeo, Brooks & Dunn, Sugarland, The Wreckers, Thompson Square, The Judds, Smithfield, Montgomery Gentry, Maddie & Tae, Brothers Osborne) will be eliminated first? Last? 6) Four decades are represented in this list, starting from the 80s. Which decade will prevail in this rankdown? Which one will be eliminated completely first? Last? Leave The Pieces will win, I think, with Sugarland having a shot to bring it home.

One of the songs from the 80s will probably be the last place finisher.
3) What songs will have high SDs? Low SDs? Where will they place?
I think The Wreckers, Sugarland, Emerson Drive and Band Perry will all have low SD. Old Dominion, Eli Young Band, SHeDAISY probably very high.
4) Which album track (Once You've Loved Somebody, Skeletons, Nothin' Like the First Time, That's Where I'll Be, World Wide Open, Downside of Growing Up, Nowhere Fast, Holes, and Man Goin' Down) will be out first? Last?
Out First - Going to guess "World Wide Open"

I am crossing my fingers for a Top 10 finish for Man Goin' Down, but its so obscure so I will be happy with Top 20 and beating Rascal Flatts.

#1 ~ this is hard but I'm thinking "She's Not The Cheatin' Kind" possibly, but 'Want To" most likely.

The 80's will be out first. I think either the 90's or 00's will be where the winner comes from.

I am really hoping that "26 Cents", "All Things Considered", "I'm Not Strong Enough To Say No", "Let's Fight", "Walkin' Away", "Kissed You (Goodnight)", and "Two Dozen Roses" all do well because they are all some of my favorite songs ever.

Before we officially begin reveals, I'll offer you a sneak peek at the bottom six. *At least one song from each decade will be eliminated.
*Some of the least polarizing songs will also be leaving, where the one with the SMALLEST SD is coming in last place!
*At least one album track will also be eliminated.

I still haven't quite gotten the hype for Old Dominion in general, nothing has particularly impressed me that much from them ("Snapback" is kind of a guilty pleasure for me though).

I'm seeing a generation gap in this RD...American Made is a classic and deserved far better than the bottom six! Rascal Flatts blows...on every level. I tease LBT Rocks all the time about SheDaisy...great voices miserable song choices...

I love "American Made", but I was totally expecting it to leave early in this rankdown. As a whole the Oak Ridge Boys have not aged very well. Much of their music seems awkward nowadays, and imo the overly pro-America sentiment of "American Made" has helped this one to age even more poorly than some of their other stuff from the similar time period, thanks to our current political climate. Something like "Dream On" would have been a much better choice for this rankdown (How could anybody dislike a song that is largely sung by their bass guy??!?!?!!?  ) The one that gets me however is "I've Been Looking". HOW IS THIS OUT??!!?? That is such an incredibly catchy chorus!! Their harmonies are so good, and the melody is killer! Was not expecting this one to be so low at all... I am not shocked or disappointed by anything else so far. |
