While he doesn’t deserve the number one, I will admit that it’s nice to see a solo rap artist that isn’t the usual (Drake or Lil Wayne) top the Hot 100. But I’m all seriousness I hope SAD! tanks out of the Hot 100s top 20 next week. I want Cardi to make history so bad! He deserves #1. His song is the biggest song in the country, it doesn't get much more deserving than that despite the circumstances powering its rise to the top. I hate the song btw, but there's no way I can say the song or the artist don't deserve the #1. I too hope the song crashes next week.

I don't like SAD or the artist, but still congratulations. But i wanted CardiB at the top, because she deserved it in MY opinion (GLY,ILI) In b4 the inevitable "TRACKS DON'T DESERVE #1 IF THEY DON'T HAVE THE MOST POINTS" posts. We get it people. I'm hoping I Like It takes over next week. GLY probably has a decent shot the week after Drake takes 56 spots on the chart, if it can keep up the strong sales along with continued increases on airplay and streams.

We all hope it's ironic, for the chart's sake, but his entire album will chart so let's wait and see how many tracks Scorpion has.

Given his background he doesn’t deserve a number one song, yes his death powered it to the top when his fans couldn’t do so when he was here. But he’s still a bad individual even in death. May whatever god he believed in have mercy on his soul. And here’s to Cardi topping the chart next week 🥂

The biggest drop from #1 is currently #1 to #15, done twice in 1974 by Nothing from Nothing and Then Came You. Nothing since 1967 has fallen from #1 to a position outside the top ten (the closest was Two Hearts by Phil Collins in 1989, which fell to #10). It will be interesting to see if Sad! is added to this list next week
The biggest downward movement in a week is 79 positions (17-96), done in 2011 by Stitch by Stitch

But the charts are about the popularity of music, not an artist's life. Yesss, let's go Cardi 🥂.

Yeah...Gonna have to take what Chartdata/Billboard/and other music outlets says about a song is expected to hit #1 with a Grain of Salt I was disappointed when SAD! Was at #1 and I Like It was at #2 . I Have nothing else to say about XXX because I don't want this thread to get locked again so I'll just leave it at that.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that we know next to nothing about Scorpion? Drake's album drops this Friday and there's no track list revealed or anything. We have no clue what's on there, I'm assuming Nice For What and I'm Upset, God's Plan should be included but there's a chance it won't because it was already on an EP.

(CDs get shipped early, usually resulting in a few details leaking either by the retailer or some rogue employee, in case ppl don't know) kinda weird to know zilch about a mainstream album coming so very soon

Really glad that "Sad!" went to #1.
That's like the highest posthumous industry feat you can accomplish. And he did it all in 3.5 days.
Not going to bring him back obviously. But it's like a consolation for everybody mourning.
He also has 4 songs in the Top 20. So I think there's a chance that Simm may have under-predicted him by a lot.

Whew, I tried sharing "SAD!" on Facebook a couple times and couldn't, honestly thought it might have been blocked somehow cos of who the artist is. Was finally able to.
Anyway, I don't mind "SAD!". It's not been a favorite of mine, but it's not necessarily one of those songs on my top 10 playlist that make me sigh when they come up on my shuffle. I'll keep from commenting on the artist as I have managed to for the most part this last week. I like the idea of having another posthumous #1 because they are so rare and so far apart. I mostly roll my eyes at people comparing him to previous past deceased legends, but we have to admit there's no way of knowing or even really guessing what becomes of his legacy as an artist, only time will tell. I bet a lot of people scoffed at the idea of Kurt Cobain becoming a legend when he died after legit one hit song but here we are today.
Rest in peace, XXXTentacíon, and most of all, find your peace. Congratulations on the #1 song.

GODDAMIT FU CK YOU X Don’t want this thread to get locked again so I’ll just add hat in addition to being a bad person, SAD is also a terrible song. If you don't want the thread locked, don't do the exact thing that the thread was locked for in the first place. Asserting your hatred of a dead man for the sake of drowning out his mourning fans? FU CK X? Nah. Fu ck anyone who tries to let their hatred and negativity be the "last word". And escalating the thread further and expecting to not get a reply for it.

SAD! is the first #1 to come from Souncloud rap, correct? Also, SAD! is the highest peaking song from said genre and Gucci Gang is the second highest peaking song?
