Thought a new thread would be good as she's now confirmed to be working on her next album.
Glad to see her/her label aiming for Q4/Chrismas 2019. We'll likely see some massive numbers again. I hope her label make the album widely available on Vinyl given its popularity surge recently.

Wow. First of all, I'm pleasantly surprised she's working on new music. I just wonder what she has to say.
It's also interesting they're aiming for a year and a half from now. Most artists don't take that long to record, but I know Adele has always taken awhile with projects.

I honestly can't wait but at the same time I can't help but roll my eyes a little bit. Adele is a singer/songwriter who writes about her life so how does she know that she'll feel the need to release an album 18 whole months from now? Why not sooner? Why not later? Obviously she wants to leave every bitch bald again with her massive Xmas boosted sales but she's become a full-blown pop star at this point with how calculated her releases are becoming.

Every one of her albums has been less impressive than the one before for me, but half of the last one was stellar so I'll likely use at least a handful.
Her label will likely want to wait until Q4, and chances of it being written, recorded, and ready to go this year aren't high.

I'm glad she's already working. There won't be any number in the title because Adele believers in trilogies.

After those rumors of her having health problems with voice, I'm glad that it's at least confirmed

Should be good. Possible album names: 31, Adele, etc. There will be no more numbers for album title, it was just a trilogy(19,21,25). A self-titled could be possible.

I think she already said the next album would be self-titled in her Carpool Karaoke episode.

I am so unbelievably ready. None of her records have burned on me.
I am curious as to whether or not she'll tour her next record, though. Seems like her tour for 25 really hit her hard.

Wow. First of all, I'm pleasantly surprised she's working on new music. I just wonder what she has to say. Well, for starters, 25 very much was still discussing pre-marriage topics until "Sweet Devotion." So there's a plethora of material about her marriage and motherhood to discuss.

I wonder how she'll do this time, 25 was pretty underwhelming commercially compared to 21 (25 actually did fucking amazing but not as good as 21 as the only huge single was Hello please don't brigade me).

I wonder how she'll do this time, 25 was pretty underwhelming commercially compared to 21 (25 actually did f**king amazing but not as good as 21 as the only huge single was Hello please don't brigade me). It depends how you mean it. In terms of album sales, 25 did remarkably well and was not that far behind 21 ( 25 has sold 9.5 million in the U.S. and 3.4 million in the UK compared to 11.8 million and 5 million for 21). Just compare that to the drops seen by Bad from Thriller, SFIJ from Jagged Little Pill, etc and you can see how well 25 sold. In no way was 25 "underwhelming." It is true singles-wise 25 did worse than 21, but it still spawned a #1, a top 10, and two other top 40 hits.

Adele signed a $130 million contract with Sony after the release of 25. They'll want to make sure they make a profit on it and Q4 would be the safest bet, as it'll be her first album with them. Given Adele may not do another tour, the revenue will have to be made back via record sales/airplay etc.

She should just set up a residency in London to put less physical demands on herself. That would also boost UK tourism in the face of #Brexit.

I’m ready for Queen Adele to take over the charts again. Each album of hers is better than the previous one and I still listen to 25 every now and again. A Q4 release is her best option to maximize album sales.
I’m curious to see if she will release her lead single or album to streaming right away. Streaming is much more dominant in 2018 than in 2015, and it probably will be even more next year. Does anyone remember if Hello was released to streaming right away?

I'm excited for this. I hope she does something different with the rollout of the album. I don't think she will do a surprise drop though, since she sells lots of physical copies as well.

By the end of 2019 will any outlets be selling physical product? I am sure they would sell Adele physical product and have their own stands for her or something, but in general I don't see a true physical market a year and a half from now.

More than half of 25's first week was physical copies of the album. I think she will be able to sell a good amount. She should put it on streaming services on the third or fourth week though, like Taylor did.

I said there may not be stores that sell physical product by the end of 2019. There are very few as it is, and it's only going to get worse.

"When We Were Young" is my fav Adele song. Same. SUCH a classic song, reminds me of some of Billy Joel’s ballad anthems. Always excited for new Adele!

ADELE is very much like Sade - they create high quality, timeless music. They only appear when music is out and not too much. There’s a certain amount of mystery because they don’t actively seek the limelight between projects. I’m quite pleased that new music is in forecast - the Sade gaps are outrageous (1992, 2000, 2010, ?)

I assumed that would be when her next album would come anyway, but nice to see it confirmed. I hope it's a little better than 25, but that was a good album (even if it's not as great as 21).

Add me to the "Can't fucking wait" list. Also, I agree that each of her albums builds on the previous one, though 25 and 21 are pretty close to me, quality-wise. With Send My Love, she proved she could handle a little tempo, so I want more bops from her.
