IMF doesn't seem like #1 material to me. It's too much like Nice For What. Screw this statement. In My Feelings is extremely fun and great.

Lol is it too early to be talking about IMF surpassing One Sweet Day for the longest weeks at #1 ? It seems people are not tired of drake and who will stop Drake at this point ? Maybe Chemistry aka I'm The One 2.0 (that no one asked for )is dropping on Friday ,but it sure as hell won't debut at #1 . We have yet to know if Rihanna will release anything later on in the year or it being able to debut at #1 . Only one who will stop him is Adele and she is doing her breaks between Album Cycle again. Lol of course it's too early, especially since its daily streams at Spotify have been falling.

Damn Taylor where were these updates a week ago Pop radio is starting to behave a lot like Country where songs get these "pushes" to #1 just to die down the next week. Last week's was Ariana's turn, now it's Taylor's and then it's probably gonna be Maroon 5's for a while.

There are so many things that could happen in any given week. It could be a song by someone we've never heard of that goes viral and BLAM!

I’m not even a Taylor Swift fan but this kind of made my heart warm. Good for her! Hopefully This goes top 10 soon. It would truly be organic

I don’t see Chemistry reaching #1, only Drake, Taylor, Rihanna, Post, Adele and hopefully Ariana can this decade. I feel like Justin’s popularity level came and went, we is an engaged man now, fans won’t support him as much imo, but then again it can lead to higher success, but feels like if he brings a rap or a challenge into it can challenge top 10, but ITO came in at a time where Humble was dying and Despacito was growing, it was a perfect release time, vs a launch and die due to a historic Drake bomb. Who is doing "Chemistry"??? I just checked Itunes and didn't see any track with that name that seemed like it was a challenge for num.1 or even new.

Maybe it's the lead single for Bieber's next album, that would mean the song won't be out until Mid August at the earliest.

As Choco just mentioned above, the sudden push and surge of it to #1 on Pop, along with other recent singles, is anything but organic. It's earlier rise might have been organic, but not now. Team payola strikes again!

6th single?? Look, ready for it, end game and delicate? “New Year’s Day” and “Gorgeous” were released as singles. With the former being released to country radio in the US and the latter being released as a single in the UK. “Delicate” is the fourth worldwide (multi-radio format) single.

It's nice that Taylor has had another hit song, but why is there all this fuss about Delicate's chart success? Songs debuting near the bottom of the Hot 100 and then gradually climbing into the top 20 is quite common. If anything, it's Taylor's only song in years that has shown normal chart behaviour!
I suppose it's unusual for Taylor, as her songs usually peak on release week or shortly afterwards. But I would say those are the exceptions, not Delicate (at least when looking at the music industry as a whole).

What happened to the radio charts? Every song seems to have a significant decrease.

I mean, if you don't follow the charts as much as we do you'd think that Delicate is about to go #1. It's ridiculous how much they are celebrating a possible #10 peak. Standards for pop songs are low nowadays.

But I would say those are the exceptions, not Delicate (at least when looking at the music industry as a whole). For me, pumping up the organic hit narrative is mostly all in good fun. Does it need to be taken so seriously that it's being questioned like there's something wrong with it? But there is truth to it as well. Odds were stacked against it. So to see it succeed - and by that I don't mean go to #1 on pop, I just mean in general terms - and especially to do so without any kind of typical or atypical promotion gimmicks is refreshing to see. Pop radio can be so weird and brutal, so it's nice to see that a good song can pull through after some blowback and a couple relative failures. Lastly, ie normal chart behavior - exactly! It's nice to see good old-fashioned normal chart behavior in streaming-heavy time with album bombs and 1-8 week "hits". It's also true that her first 2 top 5 hits off the album were largely driven by pre-album fan hysteria, so their peaks didn't require them to be hits in the way that Delicate has slowly become after the fan hype was long gone.

fhas incorrect; panel changes affect individual formats, not the overall landscape (what changes is where the audience impressions come from; but it all adds up the same). Mediabase has also had multiple panel changes since April 2017. While there was indeed a panel change, what I think you're referring to is an audience recalibration; Mediabase periodically re-adjusts the estimation of how many people hear a song per spin per station. In this case, everything's trended downwards pretty sharply, reflecting that not as many people are actually listening to the radio as they were before.

Mediabase shuffling around what panel stations come from won't affect the overall audience impressions. Most of what is happening was stations being shifted from one panel to another. Those audience impressions don't just disappear; and they are still accounted for when everything is added up (also keeping in mind that by nature, Kworb's data is incomplete since it does not come direct from Mediabase). For a bit of context; pop radio picked up at least 8 stations. Normally what you'd expect is that audience impressions on that format would increase dramatically with the new spins, but instead audience swung the other way. That's a recalibration on top of the panel change.
