I just want to point out that - as someone who lived and actively followed the charts weekly from 1985 to 1991 - the 'inaccurate' charts felt very accurate at the time: A #7 song seemed like a number 7 song. There were no head-scratchers or songs with top 10 peaks that had one week sales spikes (Glee, Album Bombs, etc) only to be forgotten a week later. Everything was relative, and despite similar chart runs, it was not monotonous - and man, when a song got to #1 for 5 weeks or more, it was like the 4th of July. That must have been so nice. :/ I like it when the charts make sense, more than I like it when my favorite songs make it big. It was nice. There was also a time when albums didn't debut at their peak - they actually climbed their way up the album chart. Mind you, a lot of that was because of inaccuracy in sales reporting, but still. Same went for songs, really. It was all about the climb back in the day - and it was so much fun to watch.

Wow, I can't believe we've finally seen a song break Harlem Shake's record! In a way, I wasn't expecting it to happen so soon.

^About time it's record finally fell, although it would have been more interesting if a non-challenge powered song had done so. So, Harlem Shake probably would be remembered as the first song with more than 100 million weekly streams and will otherwise be forgotten ...

It makes no sense that they would weigh the very earlier part of the decade so heavily when Billboard themselves pointed out the inaccuracy of the charts at that time. This was the entire point of introducing 'soundscan' to the system.
Anyhow, what is Mariah Carey's biggest song pre-1993; 'Dreamlover'?
In terms of how these all-time charts are compiled, Mariah’s biggest hit in the first half of the 90s - so, including the Music Box era - was “Love Takes Time.” “Vision of Love” is literally right behind it. In terms of how it felt, I’d argue her biggest hit pre-1993 is “I’ll Be There.” Its Hot 100 run isn’t overly impressive because it was a limited commercial single (not even 500k). If it had normal availability, it would have obviously sold a lot more and would have had a much better Hot 100 run. It spent 8 weeks at #1 in mainstream airplay and propelled her Unplugged to nearly as many copies sold as the Emotions album, so it was a huge hit. Yes! I'll Be There was huge - pretty sure it has the quickest ascent to #1 on airplay (it took 3 weeks to top the airplay chart I think)which has never been broken

The only thing that was challenging is the fact I don't know their cut-off/beginning period for revisiting the 90s. Whether it was the first week of 1990 until the last week of 1999, or like normal year-end/decade where they start in December of the previous year and end in November of the year/decade. Also no songs in the top 20 begun charting in 1989, or finished in 2000, so I couldn't just figure out their cut-off dates by a song's chart run. I just went with the first week of 1990 until the last week of 1999. The difference would only effect maybe 2-3 rankings anyways. Mariah has 10/100 songs. Wow you are amazing! This list feels SO MUCH more accurate! Snow's "Informer" was #28 on the original decade list, and didn't even make it on this one. Surprised with how much Celine actually made the list!

Everything is relative. "One Sweet Day" never felt as big to me as Dreamlover, Fantasy, or even Always Be My Baby (I would bet that all 3 of those songs are more popular on recurrent airplay than OSD), but that is obviously super subjective. It is pretty amazing how it looked for awhile like Mariah's success would almost entirely be in that one decade, as the "Glitter" fiasco really seemed like it ended her career until "We Belong Together" came along and brought her a second wind. It's insane how suddenly she went from guaranteed multiple #1s from every album to struggling to get to #81 with "Through the Rain." The fact that she has two "Song of the Decade" #1s is amazing - One Sweet Day & We Belong Together (Although "One Sweet Day" wouldn't be with the new formulas)

How is the Summer Songs chart compiled that “In My Feelings” isn’t #1 on it? Total points for every week in between Memorial Day and Labor Day. IMF hasn't been around the entire summer, so it has a lot of catching up to do, but it will absolutely catch up with weeks like this. It will be #1 on that list for sure.
