Ugh I wish there was a continued version of this. The 90s one is so inaccurate. I could probably make a continued top 100 this week if there isn't already one existing. Omg that would be amazing! I hope it's not too much work if you end up doing it!

The only thing that was challenging is the fact I don't know their cut-off/beginning period for revisiting the 90s. Whether it was the first week of 1990 until the last week of 1999, or like normal year-end/decade where they start in December of the previous year and end in November of the year/decade. Also no songs in the top 20 begun charting in 1989, or finished in 2000, so I couldn't just figure out their cut-off dates by a song's chart run. I just went with the first week of 1990 until the last week of 1999. The difference would only effect maybe 2-3 rankings anyways. Mariah has 10/100 songs.

^^ TBH Mariah would probably have done even better had the mid 90s chart rules not been so weird. The runs for some of her biggest hits - Fantasy, OSD, Always Be My Baby, were shortened due to both chart rules and Sony's manipulation of the charts for her to debut at the top. There's no climb so the run is artificially short. I'm sure this is the case for many other hits during the time period.

Taylor Swift tallies her ninth No. 1 on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart, as "Delicate" ascends 3-1 on the survey dated July 28.
Swift ties the totals of Maroon 5, Bruno Mars and P!nk. Only Katy Perry and Rihanna have notched more Pop Songs No. 1s: 11 apiece.

The song rules for a 34th week, matching the command of Sam Hunt's 'Body Like a Back Road' in 2017.
Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant to Be" logs a record-tying 34th week atop Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart (dated July 28), encompassing its entire run on the ranking, dating to its debut at the summit on Dec. 16, 2017.
With its latest frame atop Hot Country Songs, which blends streaming, airplay and sales data, the song ties Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road," which led for 34 weeks in 2017, for the most time at No. 1 on the chart, which began as an all-encompassing genre songs survey in 1958.
"Meant," released on Warner Bros./Big Machine Label Group, was written by FGL's Tyler Hubbard (the duo also includes Brian Kelley), with Rexha, Josh Miller and David Garcia. Hubbard tells Billboard that "Meant" felt unique almost immediately after the writing session for the track. "It's safe to say that we all felt like we had something special when we left the studio that night," he says. "But it was more than just special. There's no doubt that this song is anointed by the best writer there is, the Lord. With every unexpected surprise in the story of 'Meant to Be,' God was showing himself to be stronger than any tradition or genre.
"I'm so thankful to be a part of this song and humbled more with each week that it remains at the top of the Billboard chart."
Say Rexha, "'Meant to Be' was truly unexpected, and I'm starting to find out that the best things in life are. I'd never think a New York City girl like me who grew up writing pop music would stumble into the country world. I have my Florida Georgia Line collaborators and brothers to thank for that. They've truly opened my world and taught me to believe."
"Meant" crowns Country Streaming Songs for a 30th week (with 15.2 million U.S. streams, according to Nielsen Music) and ranks at No. 6 on Country Digital Song Sales (12,000 sold), which it led for 22 frames. "Meant" also topped the Country Airplay chart dated April 28. Dually promoted to country and pop radio, it led Adult Pop Songs for two weeks and the all-genre Radio Songs chart for five frames.
Meanwhile, FGL extends its record for the most total weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, as the duo's 90 cumulative frames on top outpace runner-up George Strait's 84. FGL boasts six leaders on the list, with two others having logged reigns of double-digit weeks each: debut smash "Cruise" ruled for 24 weeks in 2012 and 2013 and "H.O.L.Y." dominated for 18 weeks in 2016.
"We are absolutely blown away and extremely humbled to even be on the same chart as George Strait and some of our other heroes and country legends, so it's wild to see our songs total 90 weeks at No. 1," Kelley marvels. "It's really hard to wrap our brains around that, but it's also super-inspiring to get back in the studio and create more music for our fans."
FGL's latest promoted single, "Simple," hits a new high on Hot Country Songs, rising 5-4.

It's not surprising at all.
'I Will Always Love You' spent only 16 weeks in the top 10 and 18 weeks in the top 20 overall.
40-12-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-4-9-18 etc.
The song was so colossal at its peak that by the time it had fallen from #1 it had already exhausted its staying power in both sales and airplay. The song sold over 600K units for three consecutive weeks, and over 300K units for ten consecutive weeks overall. This coincided with the fact that it was the first song to surpass 80M listener impressions on radio (peaking at 87M+) which wasn't surpassed until the following year with Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover".
Moreover, Houston's own "The Bodyguard" album was selling in large amounts, breaking soundscan records and peaking at 1M+ sales per week for two weeks all the while 'I Will Always...' was still at #1. It's no wonder the song had barely any longevity, everyone among the music-buying public had already owned it. Also, by the time it fell from #1 radio had already mostly moved onto playing both 'I'm Every Woman' and 'I Have Nothing'.

Anyhow, what is Mariah Carey's biggest song pre-1993; 'Dreamlover'?
They weigh each period based on the theory that the average #1 single from every period should have a similar amount points. If the #1's from 1985-1991 got 300,000 points on average & the #1's from 1992-2012 got 600,000 points on average, then they would weigh all 1985-1991 chart runs x2 compared to 1992-2012. (Just an example) However, 1985-1991 weighing definitely has inflated most top 10/#1's from that time. The problem is all songs from that period have such similar chart runs, 6-10 weeks top 10 for essentially every #1, so when you do a point system based on chart runs, that heavily is based on weeks spent top 10, every #1 from that period will have similar points. Even the weak ones. The chart was pretty 'programmed'. Almost all hits had similar chart runs.

I just want to point out that - as someone who lived and actively followed the charts weekly from 1985 to 1991 - the 'inaccurate' charts felt very accurate at the time: A #7 song seemed like a number 7 song. There were no head-scratchers or songs with top 10 peaks that had one week sales spikes (Glee, Album Bombs, etc) only to be forgotten a week later. Bebe Rexha & Florida Georgia Line's 'Meant to Be' Ties for Longest Reign in Hot Country Songs Chart's History

Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant to Be" logs a record-tying 34th week atop Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart (dated July 28), encompassing its entire run on the ranking, dating to its debut at the summit on Dec. 16, 2017. With its latest frame atop Hot Country Songs, which blends streaming, airplay and sales data, the song ties Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road," which led for 34 weeks in 2017, for the most time at No. 1 on the chart, which began as an all-encompassing genre songs survey in 1958. "Meant," released on Warner Bros./Big Machine Label Group, was written by FGL's Tyler Hubbard (the duo also includes Brian Kelley), with Rexha, Josh Miller and David Garcia. Hubbard tells Billboard that "Meant" felt unique almost immediately after the writing session for the track. "It's safe to say that we all felt like we had something special when we left the studio that night," he says. "But it was more than just special. There's no doubt that this song is anointed by the best writer there is, the Lord. With every unexpected surprise in the story of 'Meant to Be,' God was showing himself to be stronger than any tradition or genre. "I'm so thankful to be a part of this song and humbled more with each week that it remains at the top of the Billboard chart." Say Rexha, "'Meant to Be' was truly unexpected, and I'm starting to find out that the best things in life are. I'd never think a New York City girl like me who grew up writing pop music would stumble into the country world. I have my Florida Georgia Line collaborators and brothers to thank for that. They've truly opened my world and taught me to believe." "Meant" crowns Country Streaming Songs for a 30th week (with 15.2 million U.S. streams, according to Nielsen Music) and ranks at No. 6 on Country Digital Song Sales (12,000 sold), which it led for 22 frames. "Meant" also topped the Country Airplay chart dated April 28. Dually promoted to country and pop radio, it led Adult Pop Songs for two weeks and the all-genre Radio Songs chart for five frames. Meanwhile, FGL extends its record for the most total weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs, as the duo's 90 cumulative frames on top outpace runner-up George Strait's 84. FGL boasts six leaders on the list, with two others having logged reigns of double-digit weeks each: debut smash "Cruise" ruled for 24 weeks in 2012 and 2013 and "H.O.L.Y." dominated for 18 weeks in 2016. "We are absolutely blown away and extremely humbled to even be on the same chart as George Strait and some of our other heroes and country legends, so it's wild to see our songs total 90 weeks at No. 1," Kelley marvels. "It's really hard to wrap our brains around that, but it's also super-inspiring to get back in the studio and create more music for our fans." Also, definitive proof they weighed 1985-1991 too damn heavily: 37~ish songs on the decade-end are from 1990-1991, despite that being 20% of the decade. It makes no sense that they would weigh the very earlier part of the decade so heavily when Billboard themselves pointed out the inaccuracy of the charts at that time. This was the entire point of introducing 'soundscan' to the system.
Anyhow, what is Mariah Carey's biggest song pre-1993; 'Dreamlover'?
In terms of how these all-time charts are compiled, Mariah’s biggest hit in the first half of the 90s - so, including the Music Box era - was “Love Takes Time.” “Vision of Love” is literally right behind it. In terms of how it felt, I’d argue her biggest hit pre-1993 is “I’ll Be There.” Its Hot 100 run isn’t overly impressive because it was a limited commercial single (not even 500k). If it had normal availability, it would have obviously sold a lot more and would have had a much better Hot 100 run. It spent 8 weeks at #1 in mainstream airplay and propelled her Unplugged to nearly as many copies sold as the Emotions album, so it was a huge hit.

A few of the Billboard guys would do a countdown of the new top 10 every week on Periscope (although I have seen some people say it's on Facebook Live a little while back). Have they discontinued this?

"Someday" was massive, too - 10 weeks at #1 on Hot 100 Airplay, showing that Mariah just didn't sing ballads. One of the first songs that illustrated how monitored airplay would effect the charts forevermore.

In all honesty, I don't take the Hot 100 charts or the year end charts from the '90s seriously. The airplay charts aren't perfect either, but seem to be a better indicator to me anyway of what was popular back then.

I just want to point out that - as someone who lived and actively followed the charts weekly from 1985 to 1991 - the 'inaccurate' charts felt very accurate at the time: A #7 song seemed like a number 7 song. There were no head-scratchers or songs with top 10 peaks that had one week sales spikes (Glee, Album Bombs, etc) only to be forgotten a week later. Everything was relative, and despite similar chart runs, it was not monotonous - and man, when a song got to #1 for 5 weeks or more, it was like the 4th of July. That must have been so nice. :/ I like it when the charts make sense, more than I like it when my favorite songs make it big.

Everything is relative. "One Sweet Day" never felt as big to me as Dreamlover, Fantasy, or even Always Be My Baby (I would bet that all 3 of those songs are more popular on recurrent airplay than OSD), but that is obviously super subjective.
It is pretty amazing how it looked for awhile like Mariah's success would almost entirely be in that one decade, as the "Glitter" fiasco really seemed like it ended her career until "We Belong Together" came along and brought her a second wind. It's insane how suddenly she went from guaranteed multiple #1s from every album to struggling to get to #81 with "Through the Rain."

Drake's 'In My Feelings' Tops Billboard Hot 100 for Second Week With Record-Breaking 116.2 Million U.S. Streams

The viral challenge-assisted smash breaks the record held by Baauer's "Harlem Shake" since 2013. Plus, Drake ties Rihanna for the most weeks spent at No. 1 in the 2010s.
Drake's viral challenge-fueled "In My Feelings" posts a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated July 28). The song logged 116.2 million U.S. streams in the week ending July 19, according to Nielsen Music, breaking the weekly record held by Baauer's fellow viral hit "Harlem Shake" since 2013.
Plus, "Feelings" marks Drake's 41st career week at No. 1, dating to his first frame on top in 2010, tying him with Rihanna for the most weeks atop the Hot 100 this decade. The song is from Drake's album Scorpion, which tops the Billboard 200 chart for a third week.
Let's run down the top 10 on the newest Hot 100, which blends all-genre streaming, radio airplay and digital sales data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (July 24).
As it leads the Hot 100 for a second week, "Feelings," released on Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records, likewise logs a second frame at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart, with 116.2 million U.S. streams, up 62 percent, in the week ending July 19. The song's advance continues to be fueled in large part by the "In My Feelings" challenge. On July 10, Instagram comedian Shiggy, the creator of The Shiggy dance craze, which synchs to Drake lyrics, posted a video of Drake performing the routine onstage. Since the dance's inception, such stars as Will Smith, Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson, Kevin Hart and Odell Beckham Jr. along with non-celebrity fans have all taken on the challenge, posting clips incorporating the song's official audio.
"Feelings," which does not yet have an official video, bests Baauer's "Harlem Shake," which was similarly assisted by fan clips featuring portions of the song's audio (and still does not have an official video, only a label-issued clip with its full audio). Here's a look at the songs to log the highest streaming weeks. Notably, Drake boasts 10 of the top 13 such weeks, thanks to "Feelings" and "God's Plan," both from Scorpion.

"Feelings" also spends a second week atop the Digital Song Sales chart, up by 29 percent to 115,000 downloads sold in the week ending July 19. The song is the first to sell at least 100,000 in a week since Ariana Grande's "No Tears Left to Cry," which arrived with 100,000 (May 5), and sports the highest weekly sum since his own "Plan" launched with 127,000 (Feb. 3).
On Radio Songs, "Feelings" flies 29-14, surging by 63 percent to 60 million audience impressions, in the week ending July 22. For a second week, the song is the Hot 100's top gainer in streaming, sales and airplay. Reflecting its growth even while atop the Hot 100, "Feelings" is the first title to sweep the honors while No. 1 in back-to-back weeks, and only the second to sport the biggest gains in all three metrics while No. 1 twice at all, after Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," featuring Pharrell and T.I. (June 22 and Aug. 17, 2013).
Drake tallies his 41st career week at No. 1 on the Hot 100, tying Rihanna for the most time on top this decade. He's earned the honor via his six leaders: "Feelings" follows additional Scorpion smash "Nice for What" (eight weeks at No. 1), "Plan" (11), "One Dance," featuring WizKid and Kyla (10, 2016) and his first two toppers as featured on Rihanna hits: "Work" (nine, 2016) and "What's My Name?" (one, 2010).
Here is an updated look at the artists to log the most weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in the 2010s:

Among all decades, dating to the Hot 100's Aug. 4, 1958, inception, Drake and Rihanna's 2010s totals tie Usher's 2000s output for the fourth-best single-decade sum. Mariah Carey spent 60 weeks at No. 1 in the 1990s; the Beatles logged 55 weeks at the summit in the '60s; and Boyz II Men totaled 50 weeks on top in the '90s.
Meanwhile, rap songs have now led the Hot 100 for a record-extending 26 consecutive weeks. The streak has comprised Drake's "Plan" (for 11 weeks) and "Nice" (eight); Childish Gambino's "This Is America" (two); Post Malone's "Psycho," featuring Ty Dolla $ign (one); XXXTentacion's "Sad!" (one); Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin's "I Like It" (one); and Drake's "Feelings" (two).
"Feelings" concurrently tops the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for a second week each.
Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin's former Hot 100 No. 1 "I Like It" holds at No. 2, while leading Radio Songs for a second week (112.4 million, up 9 percent). "Like" also spends a second week atop the Songs of the Summer chart, which ranks the top-performing titles on the Hot 100 between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
The rest of the Hot 100's top five likewise remains in place from last week: Maroon 5's "Girls Like You," featuring Cardi B, holds at its No. 3 high; Drake's "Nice" is steady at No. 4; and Ella Mai's debut hit "Boo'd Up" keeps at its No. 5 peak, while leading the Hot R&B Songs chart for a ninth week and ascending to the Radio Songs top 10 (12-9; 72.8 million, up 5 percent).
Juice WRLD's No. 3-peaking "Lucid Dreams" rises 7-6 on the Hot 100; Post Malone's "Better Now" returns to the top 10 and its highpoint (12-7), after debuting at No. 7 on May 12; Grande's No. 3 hit "Tears" keeps at No. 8; and, Post Malone's "Psycho" stays at No. 9.
Rounding out the Hot 100's top 10, Drake's "Plan" drops 6-10. The song has spent its first 26 weeks on the chart in the top 10. It's the 11th title in the Hot 100's history to tally at least 26 weeks in the top 10 and the third to spend at least its first 26 weeks on the chart in the region; the two longest-running top 10s both totaled all their frames in the top 10 from their debuts: Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" (33 weeks, 2017) and The Chainsmokers' "Closer," featuring Halsey (32 weeks, 2016-17).
Just outside the Hot 100's top 10, Ariana Grande launches at No. 11 with "God Is a Woman," the official follow-up single to "Tears" from her album Sweetener, due Aug. 17. Following the July 13 premiere of its official video, "God" starts at No. 4 on Digital Song Sales (42,000) and No. 11 on Streaming Songs (25.1 million). Plus, Taylor Swift's "Delicate" ascends to a new Hot 100 high (15-12), as it hits No. 1 on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart, and Tyga's "Taste," featuring Offset, also jumps to its best rank (18-13).
