Ari's best hope for a number 1 appears to be a VERY well-coordinated album release week. But if a video as incredible as GIAW can't bust through the hip hop behemoths, I'm not sure what can at this point.

Ari's best hope for a number 1 appears to be waiting several years for the Hip-Hop tsunami to disapate, like Pink did in the 2000s.

In My Feelings It's insane that most of its 116M streams came from on-demand audio, not the user generated videos. God's Plan becoming the first rap song with 26 weeks in the top 10. Drake blocking Ariana again...

Mediabase Panel change/Audience recalibration effect:
Billboard's numbers are closer to Kworb's.
I Like It: BB/Nielsen airplay ---> 80.30% of Kworb's airplay (72.39% before the change) Boo'd Up: BB/Nielsen airplay ---> 82.16% of Kworb's airplay (74.79%) In My Feelings: BB/Nielsen airplay ---> 82.58% of Kworb's airplay (73.84%)

It’s hard to believe there ever will be ! When America decides to broaden its musical horizons, someone else will beat him inevitably. He`ll fade out of existence like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, etc. Same as the early 00s, when rap ruled the charts. Would like to see a 50 Cent song come near #1 today.

The same way records were consistently broken throughout the digital era across the span of a decade and more, eventually new artists will surface throughout the streaming era that will break the records set by previous artists and so on and so forth.
I'm certain that there will come a time when another "hit" song generates more than 150M streams in a given week, and then 200M streams and then 250M streams and the goal post will continue to climb. Similarly, the same will happen with albums and album equivalents. The bar will be raised higher and higher.
As sales decline even more and as streaming continues to grow and moves on to becoming the absolute dominant consumption format, new records will be set all the time and over time.

Yeah, over the next few years more and more people will move to streaming so of course numbers will go up.

Ari's best hope for a number 1 appears to be waiting several years for the Hip-Hop tsunami to disapate, like Pink did in the 2000s. You're right.
In the 2000's, (excluding the 'Marmalade' collaboration) Pink scored #3, #4, #7, #8 and #9 peaking songs. On the contrary, this decade thus far, Ariana Grande has scored #2, #3, #4, #7 and #10 peaking songs.
Grande could still very well achieve a number one song as a lead artist but it's all about timing. She seems to consistently start her era's within the summer period where there is or can be a lot of competition and I don't think she's at the stage where she can completely dominate yet like other Pop heavyweights have in the past and throughout this decade ie. Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Adele, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber etc. - maybe she isn't releasing the right songs perhaps.
If she is to score a number through a collaboration then perhaps one with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Rihanna or Justin Bieber etc. will lay the cause.

Like I've said before if viral challenges boosted Harlem Shake and Black Beatles to chart dominace what more In My Feelings with Drake on top of the chart game right now, not surprised with his streaming and even sales numbers.

I'm happy Backstreet Boys is still charting, it really only has airplay to boost it up but they've been everywhere lately and I particulary enjoyed their Good Morning America mini concert, made me nostalgic lol. If they can manage to go all the way to the Top 40 that would have been a nice mini-comeback for an old boyband

Her best hope for a number one at this point is to sing a hook on a huge rapper's song. But what rap smashes have sung hooks by a pop or r&b singer anymore? The closest thing I can think of is Kendrick & SZA on “All the Stars” but even that anamoly peaked in the bottom half of the Top 10. Overall the rap/sung hook combo is out of style now.

God's Plan, Nice for What, In My Feelings... 3 solo #1 smashes ranking up points after points every week top 10 for the decade/all-time charts. His album is soon going to enter the all-time top 100 singles eras (albums who's singles have most cumulative points).
