Nicki's most well-known song and so far her biggest hit, reaching #2 in September 2014, would of been #1 if Taylor Swift didn't drop Shake It Off on the same day as the video. What made the song kill was the video, absolutely, the song and the video are one and the same. You simply cannot have Anaconda without the video. When it was released it was what everyone talked about, you couldn't escape it, so many think pieces. The reaction was swift and quick and you couldn't escape Nicki for the rest of that year. At the time it broke the record for most views within 24 hours, later surpassed by Taylor Swift once again. The song was nominated for a Grammy and ended up taking home a VMA in 2015. This is definitely a career defining moment for Nicki, I feel like this is what most people will remember her for, whether that's good or bad is your opinion.

Probably one of the worst hits of the 2010's. Just straight up dreadful. Only "Stupid Hoe," of her singles, is worse than this.

The definition of “so bad, it’s good,” at least for me.

It was gimmicky and way too reliant on the sample. She's done better.

Nicki's most well-known song You think? Subjective, but I would argue it's Superbass - or maybe even Starships - over this by a wide margin. Looking at their radio and sales statistics - Anaconda doesn't even come close to either of them, so I can't imagine this is the song that most people think of first or know all the words to, etc. First video that comes to mind, maybe (which is also the reason it peaked so high on the Hot 100) But the song itself being her best known? Anyway - I like this song - it's all in good fun, even if it's not her best work. It is very reliant on the sample, but great choice! I think pop would have taken to this more if the lyrics/theme were more radio friendly.

The video is the only reason I care about this song

I mean, whenever I mention Nicki Minaj to anyone the first thing that comes to mind is Anaconda, I would say Superbass is tied with it though. Funny enough I don't see people really mentioning Starships, despite being one of her biggest hits I wouldn't call it memorable.

This was fun for two seconds but it's terrible now.
I think Super Bass and Startships were bigger hits as well.

I don't like this. Not her worst though honestly, we have "Stupid Hoe".

This is one of my favorites of hers. Even though it heavily samples the Sir Mix A Lot song, it's a clever re-imagining of it for a new generation. I preferred the longer version in the video with the extended breakdown at the end.
The music video was so playfully sexy and over the top. Drake at the end was so random. He seemed like he didn't want to be there and was dressed like he was going to binge a show on Netflix, not get danced on by the sexy Nicki. She could have been making a lasagna on top of him and he wouldn't have noticed.

Between this and All About That Bass, 2014 really had a vendetta against “skinny b**ches”
