Review #1: The Click by AJR
Best Song (10/10)
Great (7.5/10 - 10/10)
Okay (4.5/10 - 7/10)
Bad (1/10 - 4/10)
Worst Song (0/10 - 1/10)
Track #1: Overture (3/10)
This is basically a mash-up of every song on the album (except one or two songs). Overall it isn't well produced and it just makes the album even more annoying.
Track #2: The Good Part (5/10)
This is not the good part. In fact, none of this album should be considered "a good part". The lyrical content is bad and the drop is awful. The rest of the production saves it.
Track #3: Weak (10/10)
I guess this is the good part. Compared to about the rest of this album, this is an American Music Award winner. The song is not that bad and the production is great. The lyrical content could be better but it is what it is. Easily the best song on the album.
Track #4: Sober Up (Feat. Rivers Cuomo) (9/10)
This song is very different from the others on the album. It reminds me of their previous 2015 song Infinity, except it has more to it. It is about going through an addiction and wanting help. The song is good but honestly, the chorus brings it down.
Track #5: Drama (3/10)
Ugh, this is bad. This song is about their friends being all up in drama. It doesn't work. I think I know what this album is supposed to be like. It is supposed to be relatable to teens and all that. Doesn't relate to me and never will. The chorus production is bad and the lyrical content is worse.
Track #6: Turning Out (4.5/10)
This song is about growing up or, "turning out" as they like to call it. This is like Drama and it still is bad, but it does succeed in a way. The slow tone of the song makes it work and we are not blasted with instruments in the chorus. Overall, it is decent.
Track #7: No Grass Today (0/10)
A song about weed. Wow AJR. The production is awful and of course, the lyrical content is awful as well, because it's about weed! I can't spend any more time on this.
Track #8: Three-Thirty (0/10)
Alright, I'm about to go off. This song is bad in so many ways. The lead person tries to rap and is awful. He talks about how rappers have it easy and it is plain awful. I don't like most rap but it is certainly better than this fucking mess. He also says, "If Ed Sheeran writes my song I'll finally top the charts". What the hell?
Track #9: Call My Dad (1.5/10)
Whining about wanting to call your dad is not going to make a good song and is not relatable in any way.
Track #10: I'm Not Famous (6/10)
This is actually pretty tolerable. The problem is that you don't have to be famous to have haters. Also, the vocals in the drop are annoying.
Track #11: Netflix Trip (1/10)
Comparing a relationship with Netflix is not only unrelatable but will most likely not get you in any more relationships. The chorus isn't horrible though.
Track #12: Bud Like You (7/10)
The song is pretty decent. However, I don't like the production of the verses. Other than that it is good.
Track #13: Come Hang Out (3/10)
Why is the chorus so quiet? It kinda ruins the song. I hate how it goes from quiet to upbeat and keeps switching like that.
