Irreplaceable was more of a 2007 hit than 2006 (it was year end #1 for 2007).
If I had to pick my top 5:
I Will Always Love You + End of the Road Dilemma + Foolish We Belong Together + Let Me Love You Smooth + No Scrubs Promiscuous + Irreplaceable

Personally, the top 2 from 1980-4 I find great, as well as those from 1988, 1992, 1995, 1999, 2007 and 2012.

GET SHAPE OF YOU OFF OF THERE It makes more sense than Rockstar. They both make perfect sense, and I can't understand an otherwise argument. You do know how the charts work, right? It's based on chart run, and those two songs stuck around for a long time. I believe each one got more than 20 weeks in the top 5 alone. I fail to see how they don't belong on the list.

13 Things to Know About the Charts This Week: Hot 100 Turns 60! Chubby Checker's 'The Twist' & The Beatles Reign
8/4/2018 by Xander Zellner
Drake continues his domination of Billboard's charts this week, completing the trifecta yet again, as he leads three of Billboard's most prominent surveys: the Billboard Hot 100, the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Artist 100.
On the Hot 100, "In My Feelings" earns its third week at No. 1, while Scorpion tallies its fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, all helping him spend a 30th nonconsecutive week in the lead on the Artist 100.
However, it's pretty much all about the 60th anniversary of the Hot 100 this week, which launched on Aug. 4, 1958, and has become Billboard's trademark songs chart, and the premier source of ranking the hottest hits in the U.S. each week since.

This was a fantastic vocal group. And the female lead singer in this group was outstanding. I don't know if they were considered a pop group or R&B group from the 60s, but they seem underrated to me.

I wonder how they adjust for holiday songs; like, what year/decade does a holiday song count for since they now chart across many years? The year it peaks? What about songs that re-enter like "I Will Always Love You?" Those chart runs aren't as extensive to matter a ton, but still.

No holiday songs have had strong enough chart runs to make it
The Whitney cover song was adjusted upward when it re-entered

No holiday songs have had strong enough chart runs to make it The Whitney cover song was adjusted upward when it re-entered None of that is what I asked. I was asking about the multiplier/adjuster used to even out songs from different years. Since “IWALY” charted over 20 years apart, the multiplier would be different. Are the two chart runs tabulated separately and then combined? Does that happen each time “AIWFCIY” charts? It is certainly possible “AIWFCIY” will chart for long enough to make a future all-time chart. In another decade it could potentally have over 60 total weeks on the Hot 100 (mostly in the top 40) with several months in the top 10.

Yes any song that charts in a given year will get the multiplier assigned to that year. Eventually a holiday song might make the time 600. None so far. But each year a song charts it’s chart run for that year will get the multiplier for that year

So the filter on Billboard has Diana Ross & The Supremes showing up under both "Female" and "Group". Does that mean songs credited to DR&TS go on the chart points for both Diana and the group as a whole? I know someone else here was wondering that.

Marilyn McCoo, who would later marry another member of the group, Billy Davis Jr., and together in the 70's they would have a disco hit together called "You Don't Have To Be A Star (To Be In My Show)" which would also peak at #1 on the Hot 100. McCoo also hosted the syndicated music show "Solid Gold" for a time in the 1980's as well.

^Not sure what songs are missing, given the songs that had two songs listed for 1 position, but somebody put together this one on Spotify:

I went "old-school" - I had previously purchased either physically or through download 599 of them
Getting the complete playlist then only cost me 99 cents.
For the song listings where 2 are listed i.e. (My Sweet Lord/Isn't It A Pity) - I selected the bigger title.

"Rush Rush" wasn't the #2 song of 1990, since it wasn't released until the spring of 1991. I would imagine "Nothing Compares 2 U" is actually #2 for 1990.

Hot 100 Turns 60! The Top 60 Female Artists of All-Time
4. Whitney Houston 3. Janet Jackson 2. Mariah Carey 1. Madonna What a perfect top 4!!!! Eh, not in my eyes. 1. Donna Summer 2. Whitney 3. Mariah 4. Janet However even though I don't stan for Madonna I do agree with her ranking I guess... I don't even fight with other stans anymore. Say what you want the woman has lasted.... She has had many many hits and is an extremely hard worker and I like many of her songs I just never stanned for her like so many friends I have come in contact through out the years have.

"Year-ends" actually depends on what "year" you are talking about
Does this list mean a "year" is from January 1 to December 31? or does it mean December 1 to November 30?
So getting updated "year-end" lists from here may not completely line up with previously published lists

What's your favorite year from each decade based on top 2? The "weak years" of music is not actually Billboard's fault. They report what they see and although how they report has some influence, they do not dictate trends.

So getting updated "year-end" lists from here may not completely line up with previously published lists It seems though there's confusion at what Renfield was referring to in the first place. He was probably referring to the list soundofclocks posted of the top two highest-charting songs from each year that appear on Billboard's top 600 60th anniversary list, not the individual Year-End charts. Whatever method you choose of assigning songs to years, there is no way Rush Rush could be a 1990 song because it wasn't released until the Spring of 1991. It's probably just a simple thing soundofclocks overlooked, no biggie. As for the top female Hot 100 artists, I wonder how big the margin is between Madonna and Mariah? The one thing that disadvantages Mariah is that she had many more duets and features, so I wonder if the list were to be based on just their songs themselves, without partial points for duets and features being factored in, if Mariah would actually rank #1, because although she's had fewer hits than Madonna, they seemed to have been bigger and had stronger chart runs, comparatively speaking and adjusted for different time frames of course. Same thing goes for Michael and Janet, which Billboard made a big deal of explaining probably due to stan concerns. Since he seemed to have more prominent features, maybe he would actually outrank Janet in the same way if those points for him weren't deducted.

With "You Light Up My Life" pushed down to No. 11, the 1970's is the only decade not represented in the Top 10 now. How long until "Physical" and the 1980's follow?

No, the biggest difference is Madonna has released a lot more singles (and of course many did well). That's also a big part of Rihanna being so high despite her being (relatively) new. I think Rihanna has released nearly as many singles as Mariah at this point despite being 15 years newer to charting.
