Nicki and Ari will shake things up hopefully I really hope Ari can debut 2/3 of sweetener on the Hot 100

Nicki and Ari will shake things up hopefully I really hope Ari can debut 2/3 of sweetener on the Hot 100 As for next #1: Rihanna? Rihanna is MOST CERTAINLY releasing (a single that is) in September or October the latest. She's recently just cancelled a trip to the Caribbean to receive an honorary degree from the 'University Of West-Indies' in October due to "scheduling conflicts". She would NEVER do that, especially if it were something peetaining to her homeland, unless it were for extremely important matters which it clearly is. In all honesty, Rihanna's new era is looking to be as concise as one can be for her since "LOUD". I can't wait.

I'm expecting a 100m+ streaming debut though. And yes, the next #1 will definitely be Rihanna, Drake is just warming up the place.

Barbie Dreams at #2 is the only Nicki song from Queen in the top 15 on Apple Music currently, so yeah I think that’s gonna be the standout track lol.

In hindsight, too bad that Nonstop didn't reach (or debut) at #1. I'm really getting into it lately, and is much better than God's Plan. The beat is insane.

Meant to be is holding up incredibly well on radio I'm so proud of her Meant to be has done surprisingly well. I think part of its success is because it's not a full country song (if that makes sense). The general audience dislikes country, but she found a good mix between pop and country. Combine that with a fun, short, chorus and it's a hit! Although I'm not a huge fan of country myself, I hope we see more songs similar to MTB charting high.

fhas I wanted to ask, after making your predictions and coming up with your total points for songs in the top 10, do you run the numbers again after Billboard posts official figures for sales, streams and radio audience impressions with their figures before updating your figures on your year-end chart list or do you just continue with the total points you got from your initial estimates?

I adjust the numbers again (like 5 times haha...). I adjust using Billboard's article, Billboard Chart Beat (they post a lot of interesting data), HDD's Song Revenue Chart (they have the official sales data and a very accurate on-demand streaming estimative) and YouTube Insights (they change their data retroactively and I have to look again because the last update is more accurate). Sometimes, I adjust numbers from 2-3 weeks ago when I realize that I had a mistake in my predicitons.

Based on Spotify, it looks like Nicki will take a back seat to Trippie Redd next week. I'm waiting to see just how high her ticket bundles place her, but if we're just going on streaming figures, she might take the backseat to both Trippie Redd AND Travis Scott next week. Her album is doing TERRIBLY on Spotify and it's not surprising considering the fact that there are no redeemable tracks off the thing. Barbie Dreams is only doing well because of all the names she called out on the song. Hasn't even been two full days and the chatter of the album on social media has already gone silent. This has been a really bad era for her.

August 17, 196801 05 People Got To Be Free - The Rascals (1st of 5 weeks at #1)02 01 Hello, I Love You - The Doors 03 02 Classical Gas - Mason Williams 04 11 Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf 05 20 Light My Fire - Jose Feliciano 06 03 Stoned Soul Picnic - The 5th Dimension 07 08 Turn Around, Look At Me - The Vogues 08 09 Sunshine Of Your Love - Cream 09 04 Grazing In The Grass - Hugh Masekela 10 06 Hurdy Gurdy Man - Donovan Timely for 1968, and perhaps just as timely today, The Rascals' "People Got To Be Free," was written at least in part, as a reaction to the continuing violence of that year and specifically the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King in April. The song simply asks, just as Rodney King did some 24 years later after the LA riots, "Can't we all just get along?". This message took on an even greater sense of urgency and poignancy after the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy in June 1968. The Rascals are simply asking society why can't it be a little more tolerant and accepting, and allow people the freedom to be themselves. It is a message that has just as much relevance today, as it did 50 years ago; when The Rascals took "People Got To Be Free" to the top of the Billboard chart.
