"Good as I Was to You" is one of Lorrie's best singles. Agreed! She has so many great songs that I like to revisit including "Five Minutes" and "Something in Red" which was actually my first choice for this rankdown I'm positive than any of those three would've placed higher in this rankdown than "Strength" did. They certainly would have on my own list as well.

"Good as I Was to You" is one of Lorrie's best singles. God, I loved--still love--that song. Which, looking back, it's really strange for a 5-6 y.o. child to be in love with a song about adultery, but it was lol. I watched the video on CMT so many times back then.

Also, "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" is also one of her best songs... Absolutely should have made at least the top 20 here.

No reveals tonight but I'll be back tomorrow evening to get us to the Top 20! Here's a few things to expect:
- Weâll see our first number one loss with an additional two #1âs being eliminated as well - 12 of you will lose a top 10 - Five more bottom 5âs will leave - The 5th, 6th, 9th, and 10th most polarizing songs will exit
And here's a couple of hints for the next five artists...Any guesses on what five songs will miss the Top 20???

The song "Those Memories of You" made famous by Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris from their Trio album is a hint for the next song to be revealed tonight as this artist released it as a single in 1986. Any guesses on who she is???

The 1994 CMA Female Vocalist of the Year recipient Pam Tillis is the first to leave as we start off the top 25 and with that kansasmeetsmo is the first to lose their #1 song. This accumulated three top 10âs from castleoblivion26, rgreen0625, and someguy and three top 20âs which helped to briefly bring this into the top 15. This ended up remaining on track for a finish in the top 25 even though it received two bottom 5 rankings from LBTrocks and SHOOTER . This Dean Dillon co-write went on to be nominated for Single of the Year at the 1997 CMA Awards as well as a Best Country Song nomination at the 40th annual Grammy Awards.

The late Lari White graciously leaves us next with her 1994 hit âNow I Knowâ. With the help of one top 5 by BlueShades874 , two top 10âs, and five top 20âs this was briefly a top 10 and top 20 contender. This ended up settling shy of the top 20 as it was hindered by some mid 30 rankings from .indulgecountry and someguy as well as some lower mid 40 rankings from gardyfan and LBTrocks . The song "You Can't Go Home Again (Flies on the Butter)" by Wynonna and Naomi was also a hint for Lari White as she recorded the song for her 1998 album Stepping Stone.

We say goodbye to another artist who left this earth too soon as Mindy McCreadyâs âGuys Do It All the Timeâ exits. This was Mindyâs second single from her debut album and went on to become her only #1 country hit in 1996. This was able to garner one top 5 ranking from gardyfan as well as three top 10âs and five top 20âs, however it ended up getting bogged down by two bottom 5 rankings from myself and sabre14 . This is a fun song for what it is and thought it fit perfectly into the overall theme that I was going for in this rankdown, but that said this is one of her most overplayed songs which likely hindered my ranking for it. I also much prefer some of her other singles over this.

Suzy Bogguss is another artist featured previously featured in 80âs Ladies and leaves next with her 1991 hit âOutbound Planeâ. This has always been one of my favorites from her as made evident by my #2 ranking for it and I must not be the only one as both sabre14 and castleoblivion26 lose a top 10. This remained a early top 20 contender as it received six top 15 rankings but it ended up getting held back by some mid 40 placements from LBTrocks and g8erboi .

Next to leave is Mindyâs second song featured in the rankdown as âYouâll Never Knowâ says goodbye just shy of the top 20. Both rgreen0625 and KanenrĂĄ:ke lose their #1 while BackwoodsBarbie loses a top 5. Four of you lose a top 20 while both myself and .indulgecountry lose a top 10. This remained an early top 20 contender but it wasnât able to recover from the mid 40 rankings nor the bottom 5 placement from sabre14 . This song was co-written by Kim Richey who was also featured previously in the rankdown. Here is a video of her singing the song from an event a couple of years ago.

Encore!
Pam Tillis âThe River and the Highwayâ I've always loved this underrated poetic gem which was released as the second single from the album All of This Love in early 1996.
Lari White âAmazing Graceâ This was a song released from the compilation album Amazing Grace: A Country Salute to Gospel and since we are saying goodbye to two artists who've passed on I thought this was the perfect song to showcase here.
Mindy McCready âTen Thousand Angelsâ This song has yet to be featured in a rankdown as far as I know and while I wanted to use it here this will be in an upcoming YE rankdown for 1996 and if there's ever an artist rankdown for her I'm sure it'll do very well there as well. I opted to choose a different song from her discography because it wasn't featured in the 1998 YE rankdown.
Suzy Bogguss âHey Cinderellaâ This is a classic hit and one that I almost chose but knew that it's going to be featured in an upcoming YE rankdown by Cody Wants Out... . This song was also co-writtten by Matraca Berg who was previously featured earlier in the rankdown.

It's at this point that I usually begin working on the next rankdown... so yes let me announce that I am currently finalizing the songs for the next decade featuring all of your favorite country girls from 2000 - 2009! I'm going to keep it at about 50 songs and am going through all the charts and award nominations from each year to narrow down the list. That said, if anyone has any suggestions about any artists or songs that you'd like to see showcased send me a PM and I'll take it into consideration...the theme song has already pretty much been selected though Now back to the 90's Women of Country...I'll return Sunday evening to reveal the next five songs!
