I have my 2, 3, 12, 19, 39 left. Hopefully my 39 is #5, don't dislike the song but it is nowhere near as good as the other 4 (sorry, not sorry).
I'm gonna guess it will play out like this: 5 - "I'll Think of A Reason Later" 4 - "You Can Feel Bad" 3 - "Fancy" 2 - "When You Say Nothing At All" 1 - "Strawberry Wine"

Alright folks lets kick off the top 5 shall we! Coming up first is a song that only snuck into the top 5 when the second to last submission came in.

I think this is going to play out as follows: 1. "When You Say Nothing At All" Realistically this is probably Deana's #1 to lose, but I'm going to go big with my #1 prediction! Welp about that... Hopefully my 39 is #5, don't dislike the song but it is nowhere near as good as the other 4 (sorry, not sorry). You get your wish... 5. First to leave the top 5 is the 1995 CMA Single of the Year winner âWhen You Say Nothing At Allâ by Alison Krauss. Keith Whitley most famously recorded this for his album Donât Close Your Eyes and became a #1 hit for him in 1988. Both d3vin44 and BackwoodsBarbie lose their #1 ranking and four more lose a top 5. This remained a consistent top 10 contender the entire time as it gathered up six top 10 rankings as well as six top 20 placements. Only two of you ended up placing this on the far end of the spectrum with LBTrocks âs #40 and SHOOTER âs #44. This looked like it was going to miss the top 5 altogether until BackwoodsBarbie was able to give this song the edge to sneak in by just a few points. Buoyed by the success of this song Alison stunningly went on to win the Female Vocalist of the Year award at the 1995 CMA Awards as well as the Horizon Award, Single of the Year, and Vocal Event of the Year for her duet with Shenandoah on âSomewhere in the Vicinity of the Heartâ.

The next song to be revealed remained a consistent top 5 contender for almost the entire time and has the fifth lowest standard deviation.

A song that many of you predicted would leave shy of the top 5 is âYou Can Feel Badâ by Patty Loveless that went on to become her fourth number-one country hit in early 1996 and helped propel her to win the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year award that same year. This came in with the fifth lowest standard deviation as it gathered up four top 5's and five top 10's along with six top 15's and three more top 20's! Everyone ended up placing this inside their top 40 with the lowest ranking coming in at #36 from BlueShades874.

I'm going to stop there tonight as it's a bit too painful to reveal song #3 and in my humble opinion it should have at a minimum placed inside the top 2 considering how strong of a #1 contender it was. With that said may I present to you the... Top 3 Songs for the 90's Women of Country!
Fancy I'll Think of a Reason Later Strawberry Wine Results will be revealed Sunday evening!

so happy with the Top 3. "When You Say Nothing At All" is a beautiful performance and timeless song and yet I've never loved the song. I'd never go out of my way to listen to it like I would the majority of the songs in the Top 10 ("Wide Open Spaces" being the only other one I wouldn't).
"You Can Feel Bad" is amazing, as is most of Patty's '90s material. I wish it had made the Top 3 but I love the entire Top 3 so I'm okay with this going here.
I'd like to see it go: 3 - "Fancy" 2 - "I'll Think of A Reason Later" 1 - "Strawberry Wine"
Though I'd be okay with either Lee Ann or Deana being #1, and am rooting for them over Reba (love Reba though so won't be heartbroken if she is #1).

I didn't think "I'll Think of a Reason Later" would even be top 10... But I'm happy that WYSNAA and You Can Feel Bad made it so far.

Lee Ann continuing to defy all odds!!!! I'm thinking she sneaks into the top 2 here, and "Fancy" becomes the song to surprisingly leave us at #3 despite being a strong #1 contender.

From the sounds of it, I'm thinking Deana will come in at #3 with Reba and LAW duking it out for the winner's spot.

Wish Alison would have made it 1 spot higher into the top 4 so that my top 4 would have been the top 4! Y'all like that Patty Loveless song way too much...
But wonderful, perfect top 3! Would be happy for any of the 3 to win it :)

Great Top 3! Rooting for Deana to take it, but I'd be pleasantly surprised by a LAW victory as well. "Fancy" is great too, but I'd rather it not win here.

Legends of the 90's Before revealing the top 3 songs this evening I wanted to make sure to highlight two albums that were released by some of the biggest living legends of the 90's
Honky Tonk Angels Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and Tammy Wynette This collaborative album was released in 1993 and contained many country standards including "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels", "Lovesick Blues", and "Silver Thread and Golden Needles" which was selected as the first single.
Trio II Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris This was the follow-up to the Trio album that was first released in 1987. Originally recorded in 1994, the second collaborative album wouldn't be released until early 1999 due to scheduling and label conflicts. The album went on to be nominated for Best Country Album and Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for "After the Gold Rush" at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards.

As we get ready to unveil the final three songs here's a few things you can expect to see: - Song #3 was on track to become the winner of the rankdown but ended up getting bumped two spots when the final list came in from kansasmeetsmo - Song #2 remained a strong top 10 contender the entire time but was able to sneak inside the top 2 when the final list came in from kansasmeetsmo - The overall winner of the rankdown was the second most competitive contender for the #1 position (song #3 was actually the strongest overall) and looked all but destined to finish at #2 until the final list came in from kansasmeetsmo As you can see the entire top 3 was altered by the final list lol

I'll give these predictions a shot even though I usually suck at them.
3. Fancy (With your hints regarding my ranks, I will be shocked if I am wrong about this one. I highly doubt I could have bumped down the other two songs with my ranking) 2. I'll Think of Reason Later 1. Strawberry Wine

The most painful reveal thus far is saying goodbye to Rebaâs âFancyâ which ended up getting bumped from number one at the very end to finish up at #3. This remained the strongest contender for the top spot as it garnered five #1 rankings from someguy , zaclord đ , toomuchboy , SHOOTER , and yours truly. Everyone did manage to place this inside their top 40 but it wasnât able to survive the #37 ranking from kansasmeetsmo and unfortunately wasnât even able to make it inside the top 2.

Encore!
Alison Krauss âBroadwayâ This is one of my favorite songs by Alison and was included as a new recording on the album Now That I've Found You: A Collection that was released in 1995.
Patty Loveless âShipsâ Selected by castleoblivion26 is this Gretchen Peters-penned song that is from Patty's CMA Album of the Year winner When Fallen Angels Fly.
Reba McEntire âIf I Had Only Knownâ Highlighted from the album For My Broken Heart is this deeply personal song that I remember my mom tearing up every time she heard as it was released shortly after the passing of my dad. The song is also featured on the soundtrack for the movie 8 Seconds.
Lee Ann Womack âI Keep Forgettingâ This is one of my favorite album tracks that is from her 1998 album Some Things I Know and features Vince Gill.
Deana Carter âAngles Working Overtimeâ Selected by .indulgecountry is this song that was released as the third single from her 1998 album Everything's Gonna Be Alright.

And there you have it folks! What looked like might be a somewhat unpredictable finish ended up being maybe somewhat predictable with "Strawberry Wine" winning it's second rankdown after it finished first in .indulgecountry's Deana Carter rankdown. This probably won't be the last time it'll be a top contender as the 1996 Year End Rankdown will be happening either later this year or in early 2020. No complaints though because "Strawberry Wine" is truly one of the most iconic country songs of the 90's and ranks right up there with one of the great country songs of the modern era. I want to thank you all for joining me in my second rankdown and coming along with me for a ride back in time to the 90's! I look forward to seeing y'all again soon as I've all but finalized the list of artists and songs for the country girls of the 2000's and will be launching that rankdown sometime in the spring!
