Is it possible to tell when a song goes gold? Like on kworb's charts Shake It Off was at 1500 spins or so on AC and then next day disappeared from the AC charts. Does that mean it went gold? The other 1989 hits are still on the kworb AC charts with <1000 spins.

However, it is trickier to tell with quicker-cycling formats such as CHR and Rhythmic, where songs rarely last more than two years and almost always leave the recurrent top 50 prior to going gold.

I believe it's essentially when a song goes recurrent from the recurrent charts. It's very arbitrary when this will happen, but it's usually after a couple years.
