^ I always thought Anna Kendrick - Cups was a weird song to be a chart hit. I know it was in a movie soundtrack and a song like this would have a tendency to go viral, but still.

^Doesn't it feel weird that Lucid Dreams was the biggest audience gainer on yesterday's radio update? Also, Mercy's the biggest loser with no format added or dropped, which seems continues a trend of Country Songs reaching their peak audience after reaching #1 in Country Radio Airplay and dropping steeply the following week.

I also think thrift shop and can’t hold us were kinda good songs (with can’t hold us being a little better imo)

I love 2003, 2008, and 2013 this week Rap was garbage in 2013 (aside from UOENO, K. Dot, and A$AP Rocky, Macklemore, and Eminem.) I disagree, I thought 2013 was good for hip hop music. I preferred it to this year at least. I love UOENO as well. It was surreal how well it did in the charts (especially considering the negative press coverage it got at the beginning), and it was getting about 90% of its points from streaming each week. It was one of the songs that Billboard credited wrong in my opinion. There were about 20 remixes which were more popular than the original, but they credited it to the original artists (Rocko, Future, Rick Ross iirc) the entire time. Although if they did really credit it to the most streamed version, they probably would have to change the features each week. A few of the remixes were put on iTunes, but not all of them, but they were counting all the Youtube remixes I think.

IMF already peaked in urban and rhytmic, and the only thing that IMF keeps going is pop. No surprise its slowing down. True. The callouts for IMF on Pop came out and they're terrible so it will probably not get #1 there.

He has only topped the chart once with "One Dance". Even his Rih collabs have fallen short (#4 for WMN and #9 for Work).

With IMF dropping at its current rate, it seems like GLY might be #1 soon, or I Like It might return there. Better Now might also eventually inch up there.

I wouldn't mind GLY hitting #1 for a week. It would be cool for M5 to have a #1 hit this late in their career (even if its because of Cardi) and if Cardi got a third #1. I hope after that, Better Now gets to #1 because it is so good and Posty deserves a third #1. I feel like it will be a new song tho by a big artist like Rihanna or Adele.

August 18, 1958 (For the week ending August 23) 01 02 Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare) - Domenico Modugno (1st of 5 weeks at #1)02 14 Little Star - The Elegants 03 06 My True Love - Jack Scott 04 01 Poor Little Fool - Ricky Nelson 05 03 Patricia - Perez Prado & His Orchestra 06 10 Just a Dream - Jimmy Clanton & His Rockets 07 05 When - The Kalin Twins 08 08 Rebel-Rouser - Duane Eddy 09 13 Fever - Peggy Lee 10 04 Splish Splash - Bobby Darin The very second song to top the Hot 100 was the first of only five #1's to top the chart (Prior to the Beatles and the British Invasion), that did not originate in the U.S.A. "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu," or "Volare" as it became to be more popularly named, had its origins in Italy and was the first (and so far only) Hot 100 #1 to be sung entirely in Italian. It proved to an immensely popular song, selling over two million singles in the United States before the end of 1958, and staying on top of the Hot 100 for five non consecutive weeks. But where it really cleaned up was at the very first Emmy awards, which were held in Los Angeles in May 1959. There, it won both Record of the Year and Song of the Year (for 1958), an accomplishment that no other foreign language song has ever repeated.

I love 2003, 2008, and 2013 this week Rap was garbage in 2013 (aside from UOENO, K. Dot, and A$AP Rocky, Macklemore, and Eminem.) rap was amazing in 2013 (if you ignore the rap songs chart lol) great albums from Earl, Kanye, Chance, Gambino, Pusha T, Mac Miller, Cudi, Rocky, Ferg, Run the Jewels and 2 Chainz hell, even Vic Mensa and Drake dropped good projects that year (still not 2015 or 2017 good though)

That song went completely unnoticed by me when it came out (I only saw "Pitch Perfect" years later), but I was recently involved in a student gathering in which we were divided into groups and made to put on a bit of a talent show, and I swear to God like six different groups did some rendition of "Cups". I was perplexed, both by how many people actually know/remember that song, and also by the lack of originality of course. We were the only ones to do a dance routine to "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and I'm somewhat proud of that.

I forgot to add the word chart before rap in my post. Chart rap was shit, rap overall was good.

Girls Like You is successful mostly because of the video and Maroon 5 doesn't need Cardi B to get a hit.
