Lorenz "Turn The Beat Around" thread. It took me less than 30 seconds to realize why this song sounds so familiar. This song is a cover of the Brit Pack single, "Set Me Free". I'm sure almost no one here knows about Brit Pack. A few years ago, there was a West End musical hit called "Boyband". The show charts the rise and fall of a fictional boy band, teen-group sensation Freedom. The show was a such a hit, that a record company signed them up quickly. Their debut single, "Set Me Free" was tipped for big things, and frustratingly, it peaked at No. 41, all but sealing their fate. Big names were behind the project: Steve Levine produced the song, Stuart Crichton co-wrote the song, Steve "Barney" Chase mixed it, while Aron Friedman (High Society) remixed it. But sadly, they were on a fairly small label, When! Recordings. Anyway, Lorenz's version is almost a carbon-copy of the High Society Remix Radio Edit (which was the Brit Pack's single version). Lorenz is not a bad singer, there are far worse, but if Brit Pack's original wasn't a hit, then Lorenz's shouldn't either.
