I'm not sure why I didn't include this song here. Although it's very unlikely now, if I were to do an audition for one of those singing/talent shows, I think I'd go with this one. Powerful voice, thoughtful lyrics, I might get at least one chair to turn around. I think?

I had to make an executive decision considering that I presently have zero entries. Totally get that there's a lot of rankdowns being done right now (I am in the process of doing 3 of them at the moment).

Speaking of songs I'm not sure why I missed is a real sleeper of a rock tune that didn't do all that much on the charts. But in a year where artists were filled with rumination and regret, this was one of the best songs about it.

Now this one is a bit of an oddball as it combines electronic music with some swing. But this track downplays money in favor of dance moves. The artist and his younger sister are both from Sweden. Although this didn't chart anywhere, I found it catchy as hell. It has been used in ads for a British cell phone company.

I would have been curious to see how this one might have done, but at the same time, I might not would have been happy if this went out too early. It's the second best song from a particular Disney movie; the first and third both charted, by the way.

I do remember charting this back when I had personal charts. It did reach number one in Britain and the top 10 in Ireland, but did nothing in the US. It's the second Tinie Tempah song to just miss out.  Jess Glynne might be best remembered for her vocals on Rather Be.
