The Kanye/Lil Pump song is killing it right now... 840k debut on spotify.. 12 million views in the first 24 hours on youtube and #15 on itunes atm. on track for a top 10 debut possibly ?

Aren't you guys jumping the gun on this Kanye and Lil Pump song? We should at least wait a few days to see how it fares on streaming services and iTunes. I'm already seeing comments saying it's going to debut at the top 10 and have a shot at going #1 down the road. Comments like that are reckless considering the fact that we've seen singles this year that did much better right out the gate and ended up not even making the top 10.

But how many of those views will translate to US YouTube streams? Don't US YouTube streams count and weigh less now? Also, it debuted low on Spotify and it isn't high on iTunes. I'm just saying people should quell expectations till at least the third day of the tracking week when we have a better feel for how it's done so far and can predict how it'll perform during the rest of the tracking week. Data from one day isn't enough to go on, especially when it's only high metric is YouTube streams, that's all I'm saying. |

could Kanye contend for #1? The only way it could happen is if it became the #1 song on Spotify and became an extremely popular meme (even more so than it currently is,) which is extremely unlikely. Outside of that, it'd be lucky to even get top five. I hope it does tho. Stan wars are fun :) |
