DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper's 'No Brainer' Hits No. 1 On Rhythmic Songs Chart
News
By Trevor Anderson | October 01, 2018 11:33 AM EDT DJ Khaled, Quavo and Chance the Rapper
'Me and my son are going back in the studio to make more Billboard #1s,' Khaled promises.
It's another (number) one for DJ Khaled on Billboard's Rhythmic Songs airplay chart as "No Brainer," featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper, ascends 2-1 on the list dated Oct. 6.
The star-studded collaboration seizes the crown with Greatest Gainer honors, logging a 16 percent surge in plays in the week ending Sept. 30, according to Nielsen Music.
"Brainer" gives Khaled his fifth leader on Rhythmic Songs, after "For Free," featuring Drake, a three-week champ in 2016, and three more No. 1s in 2017: "Shining," featuring Beyoncé and JAY-Z (one week), "I'm the One," featuring the "Brainer" lineup of Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper, alongside Lil Wayne (four weeks), and "Wild Thoughts," featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller (eight weeks).
"A Billboard #1 record, it means a lot to me and my team," DJ Khaled says in an emailed statement to Billboard about his new triumph. "When I'm in the studio making my #1s, I say it's #1 before I even give it to the world. I'm so happy my anthems connect with all my fans … fan luv worldwide. I'm truly GRATEFUL! JUSTIN, QUAVO and CHANCE WE DID IT! ANOTHER ONE! MY VOICE!!"
"Brainer" is expected to appear on Khaled's forthcoming studio album, Father of Asahd. "This is another #1 FOR MY SON! ASAHD KHALED!," always-proud papa Khaled continued. "I just got off of tour with THE QUEEN BEYONCE AND MY BROTHER JAY Z, and now me and my son are going back in the studio to make more BILLBOARD #1s! FATHER OF ASAHD THE ALBUM IN THE WORKS!!! WE THE BEST MUSIC!"
Bieber picks up his third Rhythmic Songs No. 1, following "As Long as You Love Me," featuring Big Sean, which reigned for three weeks in 2012, "Sorry," a two-week winner in 2016, and "One."
Chance the Rapper earns a second Rhythmic Songs chart-topper, after "One," as does Quavo under his solo billing. His group, Migos, counts two No. 1s: "Bad and Boujee," featuring Lil Uzi Vert (two weeks, 2017), and a featured appearance on Gucci Mane's "I Get the Bag" (one week, 2018).

Kanye's career is over for good imo. I’m a bit late but what exactly made you think this? He had two successful, critically acclaimed albums earlier this year, and I Love It looks like it’ll be his biggest hit since Heartless, a song he released ten years ago. Yeah he’s said some stupid things, but it’s been proven that people can do way worse and still have careers (see: XXXTENTACION and 6ix9ine). And there’s still a TON of buzz about Kayne — obviously I’m just speaking from personal experience, but I still hear people talking about Kayne and even playing his music all the time. If anything, I’d say Kayne is the biggest he’s been since MBDTF. I'm not sure about this. I mean, he did have two fairly successful albums, but two critically-acclaimed albums? Kids See Ghosts was indeed well-received, but the reception for ye was a bit more mixed.

The more weeks it's #1, the less it makes sense for it to be& it's only been there 2 weeks

Girls Like You will probably be Cardi's biggest Hot 100 single, after the chart run ends.

I still wouldn't believe them because Calvin is still bigger. Not in 2018. One Kiss didn't do that well and Promises is flopping unfortunately while Marshmello is getting huge hits with every song, except for the one with James Arthur. wtf,One kiss was the biggest song this year here in Europe,it was on TV,radio, commercials, supermarket literally everywhere, you couldn't hide yourself from the song. One kiss&promises aren't or didn't performed well in the US,but everywhere else on the world people were and still jaming to this song.

13, "No Scrubs," TLC, March 20, 1999
Forgot about how much of an airplay monster "No Scrubs" was. They came back from a four-year hiatus with such an epic comeback!

Is a #13 streaming position the lowest streaming position for a #1 song so far in the streaming era?

Lil Wayne exceeding everyones expectations (as far as streaming goes) means that Lucid Dreams likely won't go #1. I would've loved if it had the longevity to go #1 after all these months, but eh.

Happy with Lucid Dreams peaking at #2, although it won't have a chance to get to #1.

I'll be the happiest person if Mona Lisa goes #1. Kendrick and Wayne perfected it.

I seem to be the only one here that's not a fan of Mona Lisa. I don't really want that or Lucid Dreams as the next number 1. I would like true R&B back on the top. It hasn't for 10 years.

Is a #13 streaming position the lowest streaming position for a #1 song so far in the streaming era? Yes. It's the first Hot 100 #1 to not rank in the top 10 on the Streaming Songs Chart. Before this week, four weeks (three songs) had the #1 song in the country at #10 in streaming. Happy: #10 (2x) Psycho: #10 Girls Like You: #10 (last week)

Lucid Dreams is not a bad song, just this chorus...it's one of the worst of this decade imo.
I just can't @ EASTSIDE. THREE AMERICANS and this song is/was in the top 10 almost everywhere...except in their country.

Lucid Dreams peaks in its 16th week in the top 10. What is the last time a song that peaks so late in its chart run in the top 10? ...Girls Like You (16th).
