Arms Around You dropped, the song could have done without Maluma, but it still held up to my expectations. Really hoping X and Pump can both get another Top 10 hit with this one

So then it apparently takes 3 #1's and lots of other top 10's before you get that label in the first place? - just wondering. No. Not everything is so numbers obsessed and other factors are at play. Without focusing so much on stats, you can get lucky with one hit, you. Might be able to get a handful of top 10s in your genre for a year. Cardi has not only broken records but has extended some of those achievements and has set herself up to follow 2017/2018 up with another big year in 2017. To have a solo rap #1, a lead summer #1 and a pop feature #1 is just not easy to achieve but when she so easily becomes a part of pop and hip hop culture and is set to possibly become one of the most nominated artists at the Grammys with a strong potential to win and is set to take stage and possibly perform her own set or at least one song...then past solely numbers this girl has become a force to be reckoned with. I think after that fashion week incident which could kill many others career and not only did i it do the opposite but the “victim” got next to no sympathy points because they don’t see her as innocent and cardi has enough love of the GP...follow that with Super Bowl gig and I’m thinking at least 7 Grammy nominations and you have a force that happens to have a lot of top 10s and a record achieving #1 hit, record breaking #1 hit and record extending #1 hit is just icing on the cake. Cardi just might get 2 more top 10s this year and is going to debut a fashion line that is on brand and will tour and probably make more money than any other female rappers tour grosses. I think September was the pinnacle that this I had gone beyond stats. Hopeful she can get two more top 10s Isn’t she close to matching drakes top 10s in a year? The 4 from last year top 10 in January charts + what 4-5 others??? I just hope cardi doesn’t mess it up because she’s on the edge of glory come 2019. |

Yeah, I agree I think she’s could have been the call me maybe girl with bodak, iggy with the 4 top 10s at the same time and an Ashanti run but somewhere in that aug/September timeframe where she was racking up hits in different genres and in different ways then top it off with award wins, Super Bowl, potential Grammy noms and keeping the accolades going it’s become a force I feel like some might have felt that way during the finesse era but nowadays people can get lucky a few times. Even some could say I like it might have been the moment too. I just think it led to what has happened in September which confirms it more solidly for me...it’s her game to lose...and I hope she wins. I want cardi to snag two more top 10s taki taki and money and I hope the deluxe songs will be as diverse as her single choices so far. She really is capable of doing solid urban, Latin and pop without it sounding sell out. 2019 could be a major year if her feature and her own singles are chosen carefully.
