So far no top 40 losses yet. Also these Bon Jovi songs arenβt as good as their earlier or later hit songs. The best Bon Jovi hit from this year is still in though.

Still no top half losses yet, though we came close this time.
"Lay Your Hands on Me" is the best Bon Jovi song of the last couple of RD years. I said it.

Not a bad round.
But you took out the wrong Bobby Brown song first. And why is Donny Osmond still here?

I've always really liked "Girl You Know It's True". Call it a guilty pleasure I guess. I'm just glad it managed to escape the bottom 20.
I've generally been quite supportive of Bon Jovi. However, a couple of their songs this album era irritated me in a way that no other songs from this band ever have before.

I am so done with this rank down. The Hair/Glam Metal and Powerballads Purge was totally uncalled for. 8D

I really had to recup after tonight's reveals. #80. Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette MidlerI'm actually glad this is out. I guess its from some movie that I never saw. Besides the radio stations I was listening to never played this song. #79. Heaven - WarrantYou all broke my heart with this reveal. This is one of my favorite Powerballads of all time. A Rock ballad masterpiece. Jani Lane had the perfect vocals for this song. This was the number one song of my favorite radio station Pirate radio 100.3 . You are all a bunch of heartless monsters. #78. When I See You Smile - Bad EnglishAnother awesome Powerballad. Great lyrics that would melt the heart of any signifcant other. #77. Girl You Know It's True - Milli VanilliWell after destroying two of my top 10 songs at least I get this little consolation prize. Milli Vanilli = a total disaster to the music industry. Their music was ugly as F U C K too. #76. Angel Eyes - The Jeff Healey BandI do not recall this one the radio. Pretty dull from start to finish, but it did have nice lyrics. #75. How Can I Fall? - BreatheI lose three top 10 songs with wonderful heart felt lyrics and melodies. There truly is no romance left in this cold cold forum world. #74. Lay Your Hands On Me - Bon JoviI admit I love Bon Jovi. This song had great lyrics, but this wasn't one of my favorites. #73. I'll Be There For You - Bon JoviBeautiful melody and wonderful lyrics. Much better for a Powerballad. This was a monster song with the ladies back in the day. #72. Once Bitten, Twice Shy - Great WhiteI preferred all the rest of Great Whit's songs to this cover. "The Angel Song" was a beautiful Rock ballad. #71. Rock Wit'cha - Bobby BrownBobby Brown had a great era with this album. he really put the new jack Swing on the map.

Well their goes 2 top 40s. Oh well I wasnβt expecting Close My Eyes Forever to make it this far, and I overranked Roni.

Just 2 bottom 10s left, although I don't expect to see one of them for a while.

My top 20 would still be intact, except "Miss You Like Crazy" which I knew would be an early out and woulda been my #3.
I'm so glad there hasn't been a Babyface purge yet! I was afraid that sound could go the way of the freestyle songs of other rankdowns. I also wish Superwoman by Karyn White was in the mix, even though it woulda been out early. It must have just missed the top 100 of the year.

First top 40 loss this set, though it was a low one, thankfully...and not an unexpected one.
Still have yet to lose anything that I really care about, but I have to imagine one song in particular is coming soon.

Roni Bobby Brown
Total Points: 1117
Billboard Hot 100: 3(1)
Billboard Top 100 of 1989: 80
From: Don't Be Cruel
3rd single from the album Don't Be Cruel, this reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March of 1989 and No. 2 on Hot Black Singles in January of that year.
3 Top 20's fall with this leaving the rankdown...
Another great Bobby Brown song leaving so soon. ππ

Another great Bobby Brown song leaving so soon. ππ In my head I was a much bigger fan of Rock With'chu than this one, but I like the verses here a lot better and the chorus a lot more on Rock Wit'chu.

It must have just missed the top 100 of the year. If 'Superwoman' had been in here, that would've been two songs I know via cover (by the same person - after releasing 'Angel Eyes' as her debut single, Aussie singer Paulini covered Karyn's song for her second album, and her cover was the title track). 'Superwoman' would also have fared a lot better on my list than 'Angel Eyes' did.

and tonight's reveals start off with a swift kick to the balls.
#70. I Remember Holding You - Boys Club This is a gorgeous pop ballad. #1 for 4 weeks on my personal charts. The best George Michael song that wasn't by George Michael. I blame this ballad tanking on the fact that there isn't anymore great pop ballads on today's Pop chart. Just a bunch of nonsensical EDM and angry rap. Anyway their second single "The Loneliest Heart" was just as great.
#69. Soldier Of Love - Donny Osmond Big comeback for Donnie Osmond. Sounded like a Dino song.
#68. Close My Eyes Forever - Lita Ford & Ozzy Osbourne What are you people doing? This is an amazing Metal Powerballad. Easily one of my favorite songs of the year. Flawless duet where Ozzy really added the sizzle to the song.
#67. Roni - Bobby Brown Very nice Romantic R&B. I like Romantic pop songs.
#66. Lost In Your Eyes - Debbie Gibson Debbie deserves way better on a pop Rank down. This was a nice Pop Ballad. Nowhere as great as "Foolish Beat". The one I charted was the title track "Electric Youth".
#65. Born To Be My Baby - Bon Jovi This should have made top 50. I'm glad you people were not around in the 80's. Bon Jovi would not have been rightfully famous.
#64. She Wants To Dance With Me - Rick Astley Real vocals, real talent. The second "Meeeeee" in the chorus makes the song. I was never sad when Rick Astley was on the airwaves. The Extended NRG version is even better
#63. Heaven Help Me - Deon Estus Another song I really like. Deon was a in Wham at one time. Don't know why he decided to go solo, but this was pleasant enough. george does the backrounds. I think that's why the song became a hit?
#62. Don't Wanna Lose You - Gloria Estefan Overstayed. Especially when you take into account the powrballads that fell early.
#61. Second Chance - 38 Special I have no idea why this song makes it this high? Its super dull compared to their whole discography. "Caught Up In You" "Hold On Loosely", "Back Where You belong" , "Rockin' Into The Night" anything is better than this sappfest.
