I really hope they get back to some form of their You Get What You Give/Uncaged/The Grohl Sessions sound. Welcome Home had its moments and could have had some hits if they played their cards right, but the album left a lot to be desired.

It does sound like a folk/country song which is fine. I hope the vocals can match the instrumentation!

This isn't what we all wish their sound go back to, but fits in with what's on the format for the most part, I'd say.

Is this confirmed as a radio single? I thought it was okay until the EDM breakdown. I am also SO over snapping as a beat lol.
Not sure how this would do on radio. They went from a somewhat classic ZBB sound in "Homegrown" to the pop "Beautiful Drug" in the same album era and then to the island "Castaway"...followed it up with a poor attempt at returning to their roots and then publicly releasing EDM which The Highway played frequently. Now this. Can the consumers overcome the whiplash?

It wasn't as this band but since Zac Brown sang lead vocals (I assume we are both talking about "Something Bout You" by Sir Rosevelt) people who did hear that song probably just assumed it was Zac Brown Band anyway.

And as I said in my original post, The Highway played Sir Rosevelt quite a bit. It just contributes to the jarring nature of the sound that fans of Zac and the band have experienced in the past few years. You think that's not in the minds of even their most passionate consumers as they await new music?

They have seriously become the most bipolar band ever (well, except for The Band Perry). Initially I was really enjoying this, than that generic EDM breakdown kicked in. I think this would be a strong Pop song, but comparing it to prior Zac Brown Band singles, this is on the weaker side. I'm hoping that only the lead single will be like this to catch attention, because I'll be pretty upset if we get a whole album sounding like this. As just one song though I can live with this.

Yeah if if wasn't for The Band Perry's career going down in flames in spectacular fashion, I feel like Zac Brown Band would get a lot more attention for how they have gone from "Homegrown" to "Beautiful Drug" to "My Old Man" to the Sir Rosevelt stuff. Seriously these guys have been like a pinball machine when it comes to sound.

I'm not sure I've ever heard a song that changes as much from the verse & chorus to the instrumentation after as this one.
Instant station changer for me.

I think this is a great song! It mashed the old with the new. Country music should be about evolving sounds. This will be blasting from the stereo.

Country music should be about evolving sounds. Country music has 'evolved' more in the last 8 years than in the previous 48 years combined (exaggeration, I know). I'm happy with a little less'evolving' for a while...

As someone who listens to all kinds of music...country/pop/rock, I don’t dislike this song. I actually think it’s pretty good. I just don’t know how it can be classified as country. I don’t think it’s country music evolving, it’s a different genre of music. Sounds more like something imagine dragons would record. This isn’t zac brown band to me, it should’ve been released as sir rosevelt.

Definitely can still hear the country sound in the verses. It’s still predominantly country IMO.

The title caught my attention in iTunes. Is this a Gotye cover? Lol I clicked and like Did I click the right song? This sounds like a mix of Cold Water and another EDM song I don’t recall. Lol. Then the verse came and ohhhh I think these are the dudes that had like an EDMish country mess some time ago... I liked it and downloaded it anyway Sounds cool but much more pop than country. I guess The Middle could’ve charted in Country.... Hope this is pushed to Pop!
