The lyrics to this one blew me away. What a well-told story!

I really wanted to like "Mama Lost Her Smile" but I just could not get into it at ALL, I kept tuning out because its was so boring, bland, and uneventful lol.

Ugh, I should've known y'all would shit on her latest album. It isn't one of her best albums overall imo, but some of the absolute best songs from it were chosen for this rankdown and these last two deserved way better over some of the stuff still in. "All the Trouble" better not be out anytime soon.

I can’t believe “I Saw Your Light” was out before “There Is a God.” The latter I hadn’t heard before this rankdown; I loved it, right up until the bridge where it turned into straight up propaganda. "I Saw Your Light" is so haunting.

"Liars Lie" is one that I really enjoyed. It has a stone cold country lyric and melody that is just perfect for Lee Ann's voice and delivery. Shame I seem to be in the minority!

I loved the two songs from Lee Ann's new album. Sad to see them both go out back to back. "Mama Lost Her Smile" has grown on me a lot and would probably be higher if I were to rank this now.
I also love "Liars Lie" and it was one of my most played songs in 2010 after the Country Strong album came out. Really wish that had been released to radio, while it probably wouldn't have done much it still would have gotten more notice. Sad it is out in the Bottom 10.
Last song tonight is the 2nd single from an album to be eliminated.

"Liars Lie" isn't a bad song at all, but I'm quite surprised it didn't land in the bottom 5 for this rankdown. It overstayed a bit. "Don't Tell Me" being one of her first radio singles to go is unsurprising, however, given how poorly it did on the charts. There were several much better single options on the album than that one was.

Well it totally bombed on radio and we didn't even get a music video out of it or anything so I don't think the risk was worth taking when there were several other options that would've probably given her a fourth top 20 hit off the record, lol. :/

Great start. I love Lee Ann Womack and wish she hadn't lost momentum so quickly. She really hasn't gotten worse, and her voice has actually gotten better with age.

Not really any surprises yet as I assumed “There Is a God” and “Good News, Bad News” would be out early and I should’ve guessed that “I Saw Your Light” would be out in the bottom 5 considering it’s an album track from one of her commercially weakest albums. There’s quite a few tracks I like from Something Worth Leaving Behind including “Talk to Me”, “You Should’ve Lied”, and the Bruce Robison-penned “Blame It on Me”. That said, I’m not sure any one of those songs would’ve done any better on radio and overall it just wasn’t a great follow-up from her previous records. And I agree with Kanenrá:ke I’m glad they released “Don’t Tell Me” as it’s long been one of her underrated songs.

"Chances Are" kicks off the Top 30! This was the 3rd and final single from Lee Ann's The Way I'm Livin' album. I've always liked the song but it has never been a favorite either so I think this is a good spot for it to leave.
up next an album leaves us...

and there goes Lee Ann's most recent single, which also means everything from her most recent album has left us.
This song just continues to grow on me. I didn't care for it when I first heard it and because of that I never really listened to the album until recently. Something about it didn't click for me but as I've listened to it for this rankdown I've grown to really love this one. I do think this is leaving us a little early but it is hard to top her output from her other albums and this album just doesn't succeed there so I'm not surprised to see this one go here. Still, the album is incredible and worth giving repeat listens to (cannot wait to get to the album rankdown for it because it is really great!).
the next two tracks share something in common with one another...

the last two songs were both album tracks. "Montgomery to Memphis" from her first album and "I Feel Like I'm Forgetting Something" is from her third album. Both songs trended at the bottom for the entire submission period. For me both of these songs were never a favorite when I first listened to those two albums but overtime they have grown on me a lot. I had considered "Make Memories With Me" or "Trouble's Here" instead of "Montgomery to Memphis" from the first album because those two were always my favorites of the non-singles on that album. As for the I Hope You Dance album, there really were way too many choices that I could have gone with and I had asked for help specifically for this album because I didn't know which one I should go with. Both albums are incredible and I look forward to revisiting them when we get to those album rankdowns as well!
Up next, the last reveal of the night, will see the next single from an album leave and it is from one of the two albums that have yet to lose a single song yet.

"Solitary Thinkin'" beating those 3 songs that went out before it is such a shame. I don't dislike the song, but it's definitely one of my least favorites and one of the single worst radio decisions in her career considering all the options they had on Call Me Crazy. "All the Trouble" getting shafted so early is a drag, but I didn't expect much better seeing how the other songs from the record were tanked early on. I'm gutted that "Montgomery to Memphis" and "I Feel Like I'm Forgetting Something" are out this early. Those are easily two of her best album cuts. The latter should've been a single from I Hope You Dance, too. "Ashes by Now" was a good follow-up choice to the title track, but I think "Forgetting Something" was the only other surefire hit on that record and I think it would've performed a bit better than "Why They Call It Falling" at radio.

^ Shouldn't this say 9 points not 11?
Also, "Everything but Quits" is probably my least favorite thing she's ever recorded. I think the melody and instrumentation on this are just ghastly. :X

Interested to hear what others think.
