I don't think this is bad, just really boring. Lindsay Ell sounds great but Brantley Gilbert I completely tuned out.

Not his best, not his worst. I could see this being a pretty big hit though

Really like Lindsay’s contribution, but I honestly couldn’t understand a single word of Brantley’s (especially in his verse). I could see this being huge.

I am assuming and hoping this isn't getting the iHeartMedia splashy debut?

I really like this. They sound great together and the melody is refreshing. Nothing groundbreaking but a nice change of pace from some of what is on the radio today.

I’m not usually a fan of Brantley Gilbert but I like this. It’s nice to see Lindsay have more than a guitar part on a song she’s featured on.
This is already #4 on iTunes, but it probably won’t go #1 because of Ariana’s new song. It’s a bit reminiscent of “You Make It Easy” in its sales performance so far.

I'm sure this is guaranteed to be at least a Top 20 hit at country radio being as its a Brantley Gilbert single, so that's a huge victory for Lindsay Ell. On first listen, I'd say it's a solid song, but I'm not a big fan of Brantley typically so I'm more interested in Lindsay being on this than anything, honestly.

Yup, this is about as boring as the small town I grew up in.

I can’t remember the last time I heard leading verses transition to a chorus so fast...

I like this, but I can see it becoming irritating very quickly.

It's already in the Mediabase top 50, so it must have received some pre-arranged airplay yesterday.

Judging from the audience numbers I would expect "What Happens In a Small Town" to debut just below the Top 30. Probably in the gap between Eli Young Band and Rodney Atkins/Chase Rice. With both of Eric Church and Blake Shelton going recurrent I think Brantley Gilbert & Lindsay Ell will land at #32.
I wonder if having the iHeartMedia debut is going to hurt this song. Feels like so many songs lately that have had these type of big deals have been subjected to underperform ("Summer Fever", "Bring It On Over", "Bucked Off"). I wouldn't be shocked if this followed suit.

I hope that leads to these fake debuts stopping.

The difference between this and other songs with a radio deal that failed is that this is making a big impact (unlike Brad) and isn’t coming off of a complete flop (unlike Little Big Town, Billly Currington).

I hope that leads to these fake debuts stopping. I think they are going to happen no matter what. But I don't really mind when it is say a Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, or Jason Aldean because those songs will be somewhat successful regardless. Artists like Brantley Gilbert, Billy Currington, that aren't too popular or see mixed results radio wise don't deserve the iHeartMedia debut.

This is really good. Their voices sound a lot better together than I was anticipating. Kind of reminds me of some of those late 80s Bon Jovi power ballads. Good stuff.

This is great! A little surprised to see it has left so many of you underwhelmed. I actually thought Brantley sounded really good in the first verse, and the melody is great. Really love the chorus and Lindsay's second verse! I do prefer her verse over Brantley's. Lindsay Ell has one of my favorite female voices and this song was a great fit for her. I think she and Brantley sound good together. I also really love the guitar and production on this. I don't find anything about this boring either. Excited for this to be a hit!

When I saw this my first thought was to be excited for Lindsay Ell, she will gain exposure being with a mainstream artist. I love Lindsay Ell, she shreds that telecaster for sure. I also like Brantley a lot, so this is hard for me. This just feels like Brantley is singing the same song over again just rearranged. Anyone else get that feeling?

Wow is this one growing on me. I can’t get the chorus out of my head. Lindsay sounds great as always, and I really like BG’s voice here too.

I saw that Country Aircheck isn’t reporting adds from this week to January 7th, so I’m wondering how the adds for this will be counted? Will they just tally up the total adds from now until then and report that number in the January 7th issue?

Ecstatic that this is actually a duet and not just Lindsay playing guitar and supplying some background vocals. I liked this on the first listen and I think it'll keep growing on me. To me this sounds like something that could have been on Brantley's Halfway to Heaven album and I am all for that.

This actually may move up the charts this Monday instead of of falling off the charts. It’s still getting play increases this week.
