So Country posters, may I ask, how does it feel to have this hog up the charts for months? Oh it fucking sucks, my dood. While they generally focus more on airplay than the songs chart, seeing "Marry Me", and "Tequila" blocked from #1 hurt. |

As horrible as the song is, what's even worse was when some people on the internet tried to sell this as "the best country song of the year" or "one of the biggest country hit of all time" like shut up, this ain't country lmao.

I don't know why but I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Kenny Chesney. Liked "Get Along", liked "American Girls" (yea yea I know), and I really liked "I Go Back". I think the reason is, he has these nice melodies that have never fully lost the country spirit to stray very far to pop, and he refuses to switch to pre-baked, synthetic instrumentals -- you know, with the clap/snap tracks and processed kick/bass and crap -- like practically all of his peers have.

Believe it or not, my #100 for "Freaky Friday" is not about glorifying Chris Brown, or the "controversial past" line, or even Kendall Jenner.
"Freaky Friday" is my #100 because very few things in music give me more agony than a joke song that isn't funny. I'm sure there are plenty of people who found that song funny, and if you did, more power to you. But it did not land for me, and when a joke song doesn't land, they are almost always insufferable.

87. Kenny Chesney - Get Along - 2751 points I would rank this song top 5 just for this picture tbh. All jokes & hard-ons aside, this isn't one of the better Kenny Chesney songs. Rooting for Luke Combs to have the top country song but even that song didn't make my top 40, proving once again that this was an above decent year end list. |

Tbh I don't really care about any of the country songs on this year end
Most of them are just ok, not bad but not really anything special
