We recently voted on the Jackson siblings. How about two of the biggest pop/R&B singers of the 80's and 90's?

Prince is the greatest musical mind of the 20th century. I love Michael Jackson, but it really is no competition. Prince was a better vocalist, song-writer, producer, musician and performer. He was also more prolific and has a far more varied and rewarding catalog than Michael.
So... Prince.

Yeahhhhhh I love Michael Jackson but Price truly was a musical genius. Prince's music throughout his career was eclectic and innovative and show-stopping and interesting in a way that MJ either never achieved or didn't sustain for more than maybe 10 years or so of his career. MJ obviously produced some incredible works as well but Prince takes the crown.

I agree with those that say Prince is a "musical genius" but I think I may love more songs by Michael Jackson than Prince.

I like Michael Jackson far, far better. So many killer songs, drenched in awesome melodies and hooks with clean, strong vocals on top.
Love Prince but his music had to grow on me; both his music (in general) and the voice itself are incredibly uncatchy.

Michael had four very strong albums. Prince has a far stronger overall discography (which includes his work for other artists). I give Michael the edge when it comes to dancing.. that's about it.

I grew up listening to Micheal Jackson more so Iβm a bit biased towards him.

Michael Jackson by a long shot. I don't argue Prince's mind-boggling talents but there is just a special something about Michael, his voice and energy, not to mention his skills as a performer.

Oh. This one is good matchup but I would say Prince right away.
I think Michael Jackson was more over produced. His eighties albums were Quincy Jones backings and the 90's Dangerous album was a Jimmy Jam backing.
I feel as if Prince had more of hand in writing his own music than Michael, plus Prince played guitars very well. I dont recall if Michael played with anything.
