Lol @ the prospect of this being a body song...I don't think so...at least I hope not. I know that was offered as a joke...
In reality, I'm thinking this will be about his daughters, in the perspective of being a gift to his wife. They'll be in the music video, right?

You sure used the word “pop” a lot. I think you just proved my point! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can describe Eric Church's last 10 singles and the word, "rock" would be used a lot. I guess that means all of his singles sound the same too. And I'll do the same for George Strait and see that the word, "country" is listed a lot. Guess all of George's singles sound the same too. If that’s what you think, then so be it. Who am I to tell you that you’re wrong? I, unlike the super fanboys on here (including you), can accept an OPINION that’s different from my own.

Just got a DM from matty005 with the title of the DM “You’re still dumb” and the body of the DM stating “That’s all.” Not sure what this is in reference to, but I’m assuming he doesn’t agree with me about my opinions regarding Thomas Rhett. Is this kid a 10 year old? Does the boy message everyone he doesn’t agree with? No way he can be a grown, mature adult. He’s either a teenager on his parents computer in their basement or a liberal, I’m not sure which.

Knowing Thomas Rhett’s songwriting, I’m gonna guess this is along of the lines of “look at her eyes, smile, beautiful parents and kids, etc etc.
While I’m not his biggest fan, I also like quite a bit of his stuff. Thomas is absolutely a good level above the bore/country artists for me.

I'm just hoping this is a little better than his last lead single, which was just a blatant pop trend ripoff that severly underutilized Maren Morris. Other than that, he had a pretty good era.

While I didn't always like his music *cough* Tangled Up, I at least respected his willingly to take risks and experiment with a whole bunch of different sounds. As for the single, could we get a "Beer With Jesus" kind of song?

Reading this thread has me like: But seriously, we haven't even heard the song yet. To derail a thread this soon is silly and pointless.

Thomas just posted a 25 second teaser of the song on his Facebook page if anyone wants to hear it.

A clip of the song sent to radio this morning (the chorus).
"Look what God gave her how perfect he made her she walks in the room, it's like he answered my prayers the way that she moves, how could anybody blame her I know she's got haters but it ain't her fault, no look what God gave her"
This is really catchy, wow. The production reminds me of "Craving You." It isn't very country (the beat is straight up pop) but it sounds exactly like the type of song you hear in the spring/summer.

Rhyming the word "her" with "her"is just as bad as Dustin Lynch rhyming "girl" with "girl"

I was legitimately expecting a heartfelt semi-toned-down ballad from the title. But man that teaser is just terrible. Sounds like a funk-pop over-produced dance song. I'm all for artists exploring other genres but it'd be nice if they explored country on a semi-regular basis lol.

I actually kind of like it, but I thought he was going more country and regulated more of his poppy stuff to deep cuts. This sounds like if "Smooth Like The Summer" were a single. I was legitimately expecting a heartfelt semi-toned-down ballad from the title. But man that teaser is just terrible. Sounds like a funk-pop over-produced dance song. I'm all for artists exploring other genres but it'd be nice if they explored country on a semi-regular basis lol. He does. Pretty much all of the singles from 'It Goes Like This' had a country flavor, as did "Die a Happy Man" and "Star of the Show" from 'Tangled Up', along with "Marry Me" and "Sixteen" from 'Life Changes'. It seems he's made a pattern though, having his lead single not be very country at all. Oh, here's the snippet so people don't have to search for it. I'll post it in the top post as well.

Obvious smash from that clip alone. I can’t wait for the full song.

Sounds good, but it doesn't sound as a lead single. This reminds me of a mix between Tangled Up and Life Changes (the albums). I like it, but I will wait for the whole thing before finally decide if I like it a lot or just a little lol

So I was thinking how often does a parent then their child both have a #1 hit single on the country charts? I mean Thomas' dad Rhett had a #1 with "Don't Get Me Started". Johnny Cash's daughter, Rosanne Cash had some #1 hits in the 80's ("My Baby Thinks He's A Train", "Seven Year Ache" and "Blue Moon With Heartache"). Carl Smith and June Carter's daughter, Carlene had a #1 hit in the early 90's ("I Fell In Love"). Of course you can't forget Hank Sr. and Jr. I'm sure there's others that I'm missing but these are a couple that come to mind but are they the only ones?

Carlene Carter had a trio of #3 peaking songs-no #1s: I Fell In Love (1990), Come On Back (1991), and Every Little Thing (1993).

I guess it's just the 3 then. Johnny & Rosanne, Rhett & Thomas and Hank & Hank.

SUPER excited for this! Thomas is one of my favorite artists out right now and Life Changes was an awesome album so I'm intrigued to see if he can top it. Holding off from listening to the clip, but the lyrics from the chorus don't stand out to me as good... hope the verses support it so the chorus makes more sense and hope that musically and melodically it's great. Can't wait to see him on SNL :)
