also it was like 15 minutes what the f**k. Black Eyed Peas (2011) - 13:00 Madonna (2012) - 12:50 Beyonce (2013) - 13:20 Bruno Mars (2014) - 13:10 Katy Perry (2015) - 12:30 Coldplay (2016) - 13:10 Lady Gaga (2017) - 13:50 Justin Timberlake (2018) - 13:50 Maroon 5 (2019) - 13:50 Whatever point you were trying to make here, you're wrong, sorry. If you're saying it's too long, it was almost exactly the same length as the last 2 year's shows and in line with the rest of the decade. Anyway, this conversation belongs in the 2/16/19 chart thread since that's what the Super Bowl will be affecting.

Guys, look at the group chats, ask your friends, go outside, whoever you f**king ask will say that the half time was bad because of Maroon 5. And it's true, not cause spongebob, it's because Maroon 5 f**king sucked on that show, also it was like 15 minutes what the f**k. For as many people that said it sucked, I know just as many that liked it or didn't care. 90% of the people ive seen upset, at least irl, were upset about spongebob so...

Y’all think GLY could be the top Hot 100 song of the decade? If GLY rebounds and stays in top 10 for 1-2 more weeks, it's projected to end up #5 on Billboard's decade-end ranking (with about 1,750,000 points passing WFL) because there's a huge gap between current #4 and #5 of the decade (Closer with 1,923,979 and WFL with about 1,710,000) but since I don't have comprehensive chart run and am more interested in song sales right now, so I didn't pick up on the whole calculation I don't know if Billboard will use 0.8 or 0.75 multiplier for 2019, but either way GLY has top 5 on lock. What a "surprise" huge hit!

Thus far, I believe the top ten Airplay songs of the Decade will be (in no particular order):
- We Found Love
- Shape Of You
- Uptown Funk
- Blurred Lines
- Love Yourself
- Girls Like You
- Hello
- Closer
- High Hopes
- Perfect/That’s What I Like
Rihanna will most likely have the Female Airplay song of the 2010’s alongside being the Airplay Artist of the Decade, whereas Bruno Mars/Mark Ronson will take it overall.

fhas Gary Is it even possible for any song to surpass “Uptown Funk” at this point, or the Hot 100 Decade-End top five at that? The Decade-End charts close on November 28th, and what helped “...Funk” was its longevity on the charts overall. A song would have to spend, possibly, 18 weeks at number one or more this year to even contest it. Nothing is impossible but yeah Uptown Funk probably has it Possible events that could overturn that: as you said a record stay at #1 or something (see 1997) - Princes Diana dies and Elton John's tribute record performed in front of a global audience sells a record amount of copies and also stays at #1 forever So...unlikely but not impossible

Scenario: If GLY can somehow scrapes at #9 or #10 for 10 more weeks, and then pulls a Perfect and lingers between #11 and #25 for 20-25 weeks, then according to my calculation it can pass Uptown Funk.

I'm pretty sure the hate towards this halftime show is mostly Maroon 5 themselves.

I mean, it's gonna eventually surpass WFL... I used to be really into Hot 100's decade-end chart, that's why I posted the real-point version of that in November. But my data is limited to calculate all the chart runs' points But from what I got currently using Billboard's point system GLY is just below Perfect for around top 15 of the decade, it's projected to hit exactly #5 of the decade, because the gap between Closer and WFL is so huge, it can fit an Adam Levine's entire vocal range in it

If that falls faster than normal from here on out then where does that leave it? It may Peak High in the top ten. It may not? Moreover, are “real points” the formula BB uses?

BB uses an inverse point system that only accounts for songs' chart runs, and it gives a lot of weights to the weeks spent in top 10... GLY got 33-34 weeks in top 10 pretty much locked at this point, and even if after superbowl it falls like Despacito after the its top-tier run, it's gonna be #5 of the decade. Its top 10 run is too strong

I was enjoying the half-time show until some rapper came out of a fireball to sing a song I don't know. But overall it was pretty lukewarm. It's your fault for not knowing one of the biggest songs of 2018/19. Let's not pretend it's some random song.

Maroon 5 Super Bowl Halftime Show Yields 434% Sales Gain in U.S.
2/4/2019 by Keith Caulfield
Also scoring big gains: Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode," OutKast's "The Way You Move" & SpongeBob anthem "Sweet Victory."
Maroon 5’s 2019 Super Bowl halftime show yielded big sales gains, according to initial reports to Nielsen Music.
In total, the songs performed during the halftime spectacular (including guest turns by Travis Scott and OutKast’s Big Boi) combined to sell 25,000 downloads on Sunday, Feb. 3, the day of the big game. That marked a 434 percent increase from their combined sales a day earlier: 5,000.
Maroon 5’s Six Songs Up 587 Percent: Focusing on just the six Maroon 5 songs the band played, the gains are even more pronounced. Combined sales of “Harder to Breathe,” “This Love,” “Girls Like You,” “She Will Be Loved,” “Sugar” and “Moves Like Jagger” rose by 587 percent (climbing from nearly 3,000 sold on Feb. 2 to 18,000 sold on Feb. 3).
Maroon 5’s Catalog Up 488 Percent: In total, Maroon 5’s entire catalog of songs -- not just the six tracks the act performed on the halftime show -- logged a 488 percent sales gain (up from 4,000 on Saturday to 24,000 on Sunday).
Scott and Big Boi Get a Boost: The sales gains were not isolated to Maroon 5 – as the group’s halftime guest stars, Travis Scott and OutKast’s Big Boi also saw large gains for the songs they performed.
Scott’s “Sicko Mode” jumped by 80 percent (rising from 2,000 to a little more than 3,000 downloads) and OutKast’s “The Way You Move” (performed by Big Boi) gained by a whopping 3,408 percent (vaulting from a negligible figure on Saturday to nearly 3,000 on Sunday).
Even a snippet of a track can push a sizable increase. As Big Boi was rolling to the halftime stage in a Cadillac convertible, a 15-second snippet of the 2005 track “Kryptonite” was heard, as performed by his own Purple Ribbon All-Stars ensemble. The song went from a negligible sales figure on Saturday to nearly 1,000 downloads (up 2,091 percent).
A ‘Victory’ for SpongeBob: And… even an animated interlude can pump a big increase. Scott’s performance was introduced by a on-screen snippet of the “Band Geeks” episode of the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. In the short clip, about eight seconds of fanfare from the song “Sweet Victory” was heard, performed by David Eisley and Bob Kulick. The track bolted 524 percent – up from a negligible figure on Saturday to almost 1,000 downloads. (The inclusion of “Sweet Victory” was likely sparked by a Change.org petition that called for the Super Bowl to honor SpongeBob’s creator, Stephen Hillenburg, who died last November.)
Streaming information about the tracks in the halftime show spotlight will likely be available early this week.

Bigger than grammys? Are you implying that Shallow would stay in top 10 of Digital Song Sales for the entire year? Make me wanna smash that CD.
