Missing You was the second worst B&D single of 1999. Bad year for them.

I thought "Little Bird" would've been one of the first female songs to go in this RD. It was the lowest one on my list, anyway (iirc).

The Anita Cochran song was easily my favorite discovery of this rankdown. Such an earworm, too bad it flopped.

"When I Said I Do" is a great song, and I have always really liked it. But for some reason didn't like it as much when listening for this rankdown as I always did in the past. Still, if you keep in mind that I love pretty much my entire top 100 or more, I still like this one enough to be slightly sad to see it leaving already!

I had almost all but forgotten about Anita’s “For Crying Out Loud” until I re-discovered it while researching for my 90’s Women of Country rankdown. I found that I kept wanting to come back and revisit the song and ended up liking it more than I thought. Not surprised to see it out already, though.
For as much as I followed country radio and the charts back in the day I have very little memory of “Little Bird” which is probably why it ended up falling to the bottom of my list. Even after a few listens for this rankdown the song never really grabbed my attention so I couldn’t see placing it any higher than I did.
I had no idea where “One Day Left to Live” was going to land but I guess I probably wasn’t expecting it to get any higher than it did. This has always been one of those songs that hits me in the gut every time I hear it and I’ve loved it from the first moment I heard it back in 1997 when Sammy’s Labor of Love album was released. By the way this song is a Dean Dillon co-write!
I wasn’t prepared to put “When I Said I Do” in my top 30 but low and behold that’s what I did lol. I wouldn’t argue with anyone for saying that this song is overplayed and maybe even a bit on the cheesy side, but there’s just something I like about how all parts of the song come together very well including the production around the chorus.

I LOVE "Little Bird"! I wish it had been a bigger hit for her back in the day but it was a horrible single choice.

"When I Said I Do" is a beautiful song. And Sherrie Austin's first album was one of the first I owned, so of course I love "Little Bird." Sad to see both of those go.

Been missing for a few weeks and still in catch up mode, overall I'm liking the results. Highest loss was #24 but the majority (all but 8) are sub-60 so I can't complain too much. I'm sure in rankdown closeness I'd be doing pretty good!
Biggest losses so far:
#24 - Julie Reeves - Trouble Is A Woman #30 - Clay Walker - She's Always Right #31 - Sherrie Austin - Little Bird #39 - Chalee Tennison - Someone Else's Turn To Cry #47 - The Wilkinsons - Boy Oh Boy
Of those only Clay surprises me for being out already, I thought he'd last till about now to lose one.
Chalee has better songs but I absolutely love her 3 albums and will one day host a rankdown of all 3! lol

"I'm Yours" was one of my favorite discoveries from any of these 90s rankdowns we've done thus far. I absolutely LOVED it. It reminded me so much of Faith-era Faith Hill. So good.

Well that certainly offset the big loss I just experienced from Linda. Yay! Lol.

I could never hear You Had Me From Hello and not picture Jerry Maguire. I remember a radio interview where Kenny talked about writing it after seeing the movie, and I never cared too much for it to begin with. (Even though in the movie it was "You Had Me At Hello"? 🤔)

I like some of Linda’s material with “Love Didn’t Do It” from 1994 being one of my favorites. That said, there’s really nothing about “I’m Yours” that makes me ever want to listen to it again and there were just so many better songs for me to put above this one that I don’t think I could’ve put this any higher.
“You Had Me From Hello” deserved way better and the amount of detractors Kenny has here on Pulse is head-scratching. Anyways for those that may not know this little tidbit but the song was actually inspired from Tom Cruise’s character in the movie Jerry Maguire.

Lol ClevelandRox you and I were typing out at the same time. Even though I know that “You Had Me From Hello” was inspired by Jerry Maguire I’ve always been able to separate the two in my mind and never ever think of the movie when I hear this song.

Fuck no. "You Had Me From Hello" is very close to being my favorite Kenny Chesney song. I have always loved it even when I hated his music. I am not pleased.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks Kenny Chesney is mostly garbage. His voice is so bad; I just tried re-listening to that "Hello" song again because I didn't remember anything about it and I couldn't last 15 seconds. His voice is tolerable enough for me to not change the station on only like 4 of his singles in his entire career.

HOW did "The Greatest" make it so far??? What a flaming pile of stinky poo!!!! And Kristofferson is a God-awful vocalist and artist. "Lady" is the only time I've ever had any time for him.
