Like that "the king" part in the thread lol The release date seems to be the date that the song is available for radio. When will its digital release date be? Could it be this Friday along with pre-order of album?

I see George Strait has realized that name-dropping George Strait is a popular trend! 😂 (2:33 in the live video above)

YES! When I first heard this on YouTube last December I immediately thought that this had to be the lead single and it’s such a catchy song that I’ve had stuck in my head ever since. Can’t wait to hear the studio version and hopefully this is something that even country radio is willing to spin.

I can't be the only one praying a tour is coming too, right??? Didn’t he retire from touring? As someone who’s never seen him live, I agree with you a tour would be amazing.

On a side note, 50 Number Ones, the double disc set from 2004 re-enters the top ten on the country albums chart at #10. Unbelievable!
P.S.: According to AllAccess Country Daily, over 50 stations are committed to playing Every Little Honky Tonk Bar.

I’ve been getting into George lately, really liking him so far. Some of the stuff is very Of it’s time but still enjoying it. Looking forward to this!

I would give almost anything for George to get played on the radio and make a run at a few more #1 songs. This has a decent chance of making some noise on the chart, although I still think he'll have a hard time even getting into the Top 40.

I would expect that various country powerhouses throughout TX and OK would undoubtedly play it, but getting the rest of the country to jump on board could be wishful thinking.

I can see a block like Cumulus or even Townsquare Media adding this into overnight spins, based off George's name recognition and it being the lead single to his new album. I'm also not expecting this to be a big hit for George but I can definitely see a peak, similar to "Cold Beer Conversation." The live audio sounds great -- can't wait to hear the studio version/

I see George Strait has realized that name-dropping George Strait is a popular trend! 😂 (2:33 in the live video above) I just heard this for the first time. It's not the first time an artist name dropped themselves. Waylon and Willie did it in Luckenbach, Texas Back To The Basics Of Love.

His single peaks at #2 behind Strait's Carried Away in 1996.

This is great. It's one of the best melodies I've heard from a George single in the past decade. It sounds like it would fit perfectly as one of the upbeat tracks on his albums from 20 years ago. It's production is slightly more contemporary but nowhere near the majority of singles these days. It was completely what I wanted it to be after hearing the live version.

I agree on being excited for how this sounds. Again, I'm not sure how modern radio could ever react to a single by a soon to be 67 year old artist, but I honestly think this has a shot at the top 40. Maybe I'll be surprised and radio really embraces it.
The real question is how hard MCA pushes it. I think they used all their good graces to get "Give it All We Got Tonight" to the top of Mediabase (60 at 60 campaign), but maybe 7 years is long enough for a lot of stations to forget.

This is great. On first listen I wasn't sure if I liked it quite as well as "Cold Beer Conversation" (which I loved), but after listening just 1 time, the melody has been stuck in my head for a solid 20 minutes, so I think that's a pretty good sign. Can't wait for the new album, and can't wait to finally see George in person when he comes to Columbus this summer.

This is by far the best song George & Bubba had a hand in writing.
