Solid top 20. I do feel that my lowest 4 remaining (47, 55, 68, and 76) are a bit overrated but they are still good songs. I'm really happy with the other 16 songs that made the top 20.
It's interesting that all of the songs that finished at #5, #6, #8, #9 and #10 have been revealed but 4 songs that finished at #7 made the top 20. One other thing that stood out to me was that the best performing song here from 1987 was Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" but it only reached #6 in its year-end rankdown.

I'm missing my top 2 now, but I also lost one of my two bottom 10s, so I'm not too disappointed with this set.

I expect it to choke before the Top 10 but I can hope for a Top 10 finish because THIS IS 80S. 7. Easily my pick to win this. I don't know anyone who would tank this. 10. Such an amazing song, so glad it's ducked and dodged and made it this far 12. Not surprised this is still in, I definitely see it hitting top ten. 16. My dark horse for a Top 10 finish. Oh my god keep going! 18. This is gonna choke on the next reveal but I'm happy it got this far 20. Odds are the fan favorite pick to win it all 26. Gonna make the Top 10 for sure 34. In a good way: HOW IS THIS STILL IN?!? 35. I overranked this and now I'm paying for it 48. Meh 51. Kinda burnt on it but it's a classic, deserves it's spot here 52. Used to HATE this song, now it's grown on me. I don't love it, but I can stand it 54. Meh. I see why others like it, but it's a meh song to me 56. Actually shocked this is still in 59. A little annoyed this is still in. I like it but such an overrated piece of their discography 69. I definitely understand why this is still in, and I appreciate it's place in music history, but as a song I usually skip it for better music 71. OH MY GOD. I never thought I'd be rooting for a song I ranked Bottom Half, but honest to god my inner music geek is so happy for this song 95. WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE THIS FUCKING SONG. IT IS NOT ICONIC, IT IS NOT CREATIVE, ITS A PIECE OF TRASH 98. Honestly, I never got this song. Not once. I like other songs from the discography this came from, but this song always bored me to tears

#25. Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) - Pink Floyd Easily my favorite Pink Floyd song. I can't even stomach any other of their other songs. Not my preferred vibe to get "high" to. "Run Like Hell" and "Money". Those two are also great, but that's it.
#24. Let's Go Crazy - Prince and the Revolution I guess the Prince songs are leaving in correct order? This one rocks.
#23. Every Breath You Take - The Police A Police classic that I thought would outlive the M.J. songs
#22. Here Comes The Rain Again - Eurythmics This is a good song, but I wouldn't put it this high.
#21. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' - Michael Jackson This is a song I ended up appreciating later in life. Good bop, but not in my best of the 80's list.

I'm so off on PULSE closeness I'm not even in the top 40, which means my list is an authentic Doc Indie Party Rock list.

Ignoring TAT (and I didn’t even think it would make the top 30 initially), this has been an amazing set.

Sucks that thriller went out, but it took 3 bottom halves so all good. There’s still 2 better MJ songs anyway.
6 of my top 10s remaining, hopefully I don’t get screwed tomorrow.

Took out my last remaining bottom half...also took out my biggest rooting interest.
Really, I've ranked every song here top ten before, and I'd genuinely say that I really like every song remaining about the same, so I don't really care about the potential winner now that The Cure are out.
(As an aside, I'm definitely not complaining, but how the hell is "Africa" still in? I would have thought it would have been tanked out of the top 25 altogether.)

“Every Breath You Take” having bottom-fives and missing the top 20 is just unacceptable. That would have probably been my #1. That being said, though, I don’t really have other complaints about this top 15. I recognize and really like most of the songs in it. I’d like for “Beat It”, “Billie Jean”, or “Africa” to win, though.

Africa & Smooth Criminal don’t belong with this elite list of songs...should be Love Song & either WEG or NYT instead

The big shock out of today is the departure of Need You Tonight, a strong mix of pop and rock.
Considering the last couple of days, I knew that there was a chance that a song like Thriller would depart.
West End Girls is a fine song. But their time was up.
I liked Lovesong and Time After Time to certain extents, but insert "This rankdown is stacked" gif here.
At least my bottom 40 is clear, even though I'm only down to 3 top 10s now...

Quick thoughts
Thank GOD West End Girls is gone. Now get rid of my 95 soon
I really do love LoveSong, but it wasn't gonna win. It made it as far as it did in my Discord tournament
Time After Time is an ok song. I feel the nostalgia and I sing it on Singstar but I often don't listen to it on its own
I'm SO happy Need You Tonight made it as far as it did. Yes I'm a lower half ranker, and I regret it 100 percent
Finally surprised and happy that Thriller missed. As a video it's amazing but as a song it's just a song
And for the person who says Smooth Criminal and Africa shouldn't be here....well I politely disagree with you

Pleasantly surprised that INXS didn't make top ten! Never Tear Us Apart >>>
Also FINALLY at West End Girls!
Only two bottom half songs, but one is making top 5 for sure

#20. West End Girls - Pet Shop Boys Strong song. I gonna start charting a new Pet Shop Boys song in the weeks to come.
#19. Lovesong - The Cure Man Cure have an impressive discography. I like this song, but did you know I like about 15 other songs of theirs' more than this one. Songs like "Love Cats" and "In Between Days"
#18. Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper This is here most Aesthetic Pop ballad. Beautiful melody with that "gonna make you tear up" vibe.
#17. Need You Tonight - INXS This is an alright song . A bit too simple in production, and I really disliked that music video version where they go on and on rhyming about nothing. I like songs like "Don't Change" and "Original Sin" ,and earlier INXS before you guys were even born.
#16. Thriller - Michael Jackson I forgot if I ranked this higher than "Beat It", but both are in my top 10 MJ favs ever. "Thriller" is what I like to call "Epic Pop". Not a big fan of 'Billie Jean", but "Smooth Criminal" is fierce.

It's always bored me to tears. See "Mint Car" if you want an undiscovered gem. And all their old stuff is incredible #17 - Overplay almost killed this song for me - but What You Need holds that honor. Everything on Shabooh Shabaah, The Swing and Listen Like Thieves (minus WYN) are so much higher on my list. Three incredible albums...

IMO this is the most overplayed song of the 80's. Relentlessly overplayed. I love their entire catalogue, but I'd prefer to hear Synchronicity II 100x over before EBYT. Radio can make a song, but they can also kill it too IMO.

If "Smooth Criminal" and "Africa" can both crawl in a hole and expire painfully before the top 10 that'd be fantastic
