a very unsurprising Top 10.
I have my 1,2,4,5,9,15,25, 58, 59, and 87 (Sweet Dreams) left. Sweet Dreams isn't a bad song, just terribly overplayed and there are so many more exciting Eurythmics songs out there.
Would be happy w/ any of these winning.

4, 9, 13, 18, 19, 28, 32, 41, 45, 66 I'm glad Africa's gone, but my 66 would've been a better song to leave before the top 10.

I was super confident that the entire 83 top 3 would make the top 10 :/
1, 4, 5, 8, 13, 23, 25, 38, 43, 50
Nothing would really anger me if they won but everything in my top quarter are all great so

Well, let's see what my top 10 consists of:
1, 2, 5 14, 15 25, 27 32 50, 57
The lowest song left is 4/5, so fine with whoever wins.
Although today's results could be a tad better (I could be down to having my lowest song be 32), no major losses. Some solid songs left, but what's left of my top 20 stays intact.

Africa & Smooth Criminal don’t belong with this elite list of songs...should be Love Song & either WEG or NYT instead If "Smooth Criminal" and "Africa" can both crawl in a hole and expire painfully before the top 10 that"d be fantastic #12
Smooth Criminal Michael Jackson

No complaints about any of these songs making the top 10. I'm most impressed with "Don't You (Forget About Me)"'s performance. I did not expect that song to make it this far. I'm not even that disappointed about "Africa" just missing out since I figured it would have been eliminated much earlier.

35. Kiss (52): I really like the music, vocals and production here. Quite funky, fun, and goos representation of Prince. I might've slightly under-ranked this a bit, In any case, this is not the Prince song that needed to go now. 34. Rock with You (45): My favorite pre-Thriller MJ song. A classic. I really like the disco influence and pop melody here. Wish it had stayed a bit longer... 33. 1999 (100): Freaking finally!! Not a bad song, but it's practically one of the most mono-melodic and simple songs in this RD. Not in my top 10 Prince songs; and just as in its annual RD, I'm surprised at how overrated this is around here lol 32. Hungry Like the Wolf (55): Well, good to see this in the top 50. A good DD song overall, just not in my top 5 of their 80s songs. 31. The Way You Make Me Feel (90): Another song that I was hoping to see out a long time ago. I've never been a big fan of this or thought it has the melodic, vocal, and production qualities of other MJ hits. Definitely overstayed. 30. I Stil Haven;t Found What I'm Looking For (69): As I said in my comments on WoWY, this is good but not as good as that one... 29. Fast Car (98): Nice, cut little track, but hell not a top 30 of the decade, especially when you have much stronger balladas like CW, WoWY, or LTT. 28. Edge of Seventeen (26): Yay! :) 27. I Wanna Dance With Somebody (28): Almost P-P-P-PERFECT Ranking! :) 26. I Ran (10): My #1 of that year. One of the best songs of its kind in terms of melody, production, vibe. An 80s classic! Good to see it this far, although sad to lose my 6th top 10

That top 10 looks hot.
* This comments will talk about the reasons why these next five songs are some of my favorite ones.
#15. Little Red Corvette - Prince As farr as I'm concerned The best American car ever built and best Prince song ever. The vocal delivery is sleek and sexy just like the Corvette. This song always ends up in my top 10 no matter what, and I always ,always rank the extended version. Everything after that last chorus is pure backseat sex music. cue tire scratching scream and “The ride is so smooth, you must be a limousine”
#14. Tainted Love - Soft Cell You know me and simple production songs, but this one nailed it hard. That clap/Clash effect is the same one you hear in "Let's Go" from The Cars and in Gary Numan "Cars" and "Bette Davis Eyes". Looking back on my retro charts songs with this effect always became my favorite songs.
#13. Call Me - Blondie Another monster hit. I also love songs with that drum roll intro. "Hot Girls In Love", Heartbreaker" etc..That drum intro gives hard rock a perfect entrance.
#12. Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson fast becoming one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs. He sings the lyrics perfectly to the melody of the bassline. I would have preferred this one in the top 10 over that other overplayed one, but hey #12 is a great number.
#11. Africa - Toto hmm. It's a great song. Classic Adult pop hit, that really brings on the exotic vibe alive with the instrument choices like The gongs, The flutes. Even the drums were lined with a certain material that gave the percussion the exotic vibe. Even tho this is a classic, I feel like #11 would be better suited for a Toto song like "Hold The Line".

25. Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) (12): A great song overall. My favorite from 1980. Should've made the top 20. 24. Let's Go Crazy (35): Good placement for a song with one of the best guitar solos in pop history. I find it a much more dynamic and interesting song than Corvette, though. Unhinged, double check my ranking of this one :) 23. Every Breath You Take (8): Too low for this classic of classics 22. Here Comes The Rain Again (53): I had a it of a hard time ranking this one below my top 50. I don't mind seeing it this high. 21. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (54): This is a good song but not in the same league as other 80s classics, including from MJ, IMO. 20. West End Girls (21): One of my favorite PSB songs ever --and I like a lot of them, as I've been a big fan for +30 years :) The music, vibe, lyrics, production, make it a unique song. That percussion, that sax, those background vocals. Exquisite song! 19. Lovesong (37): They have quite a strong catalog, and this is somewhere outside my top 5 but inside y top 10 of TC songs. I love their use of violins and guitar as well as the vocals. Good to see it this far. 18. Time After Time (17): This is one of my favorite 80s ballads. Cyndi was my favorite artist during the massive SSU era, with 6 personal chart toppers from GJWHF and TC. 17. Need You Tonight (68): YAY!!! One of my last 2 bottom 50s is finally GONE. I've always considered this one a bit too simple of a song especially for INXS. Back in the time, Original Sin was my jam, and this one was just at another level. I've grown to like it more with time, but it's clearly outside my top 5 INXS songs. 16. Thriller (34): As I removed the nostalgia factor a bit, I had to rank this one just outside my top third. It's a very strong song and great representative of the 1980s, but yeah not as strong as the other remaining 2 songs off this album.
