"My Sister" never stood a chance. :( I still hold it was the best single from the album but I know I'm very very much in the minority there lol "Love Revival" and "Sky Full Of Angels" don't really fit the album but I love SFOA's production and melody. Not so much for LR. Sean is 100% right, I'd love the title track if the production was turned down ever so slightly. It'd be like 4 or 5 spots higher on my list.

I'm very much in the minority on this rankdown. For the record though, I didn't really find a song I disliked.

Wait...this started already?! I wasn't expecting to see the title track out already as it really sounds like a song that would've fit right in with any one of her albums from the 90s. This song really deserved better.

I found the overall single selection for this one much different than I would have picked, but My Sister? I seriously canât believe they ever went with that one. The thing is itâs not even really a bad song (even though I ranked it #11) but there were just so many better choices on here! This is one of those songs that I probably would have liked better if it remained an album track and wasnât released as a single over much better options.

âMy Sisterâ always seemed like a song that yâall would tank. It was almost my #2. Btw I just found out it was a single. Good pick for country radio!

I loved âMy Sisterâ as a single selection. It should have been huge for Reba.

Question: what's so god-awful about "My Sister"? I personally didn't find anything wrong with it, but that's just me.

I don't hate My Sister, but in the context of this great album, it fell short for me.

You guys do not realize something, that I want you to realize. Sean literally sent me an album review instead of a rankdown list... So I think this could be kind of a fun thing for us to celebrate together! So I present to you, the first edition of Sean 's thoughts: 09. âLove Revivalâ: Great song, and I really enjoy the Gospel feeling to it (same how I felt with âSky Full of Angelsâ), but it doesnât necessarily wow me as some of the other songs do. I will admit that I love that she made her Love Revival album for Hallmark back in 2008 because that was a great collection of her songs and covers!!!Oh girl, I don't play around when it comes to my queen. You're getting a rankdown, an album review, a list of how I think the singles should have been, and so much more!!! Just wait for what is to come on the next rankdown!!! I'm glad I was brought back from the dead for this! So exciting to be back here on Pulse! ALSO HOW DID ROOM TO BREATHE GET SO LOW?!?!?! And I love "My Sister", but I just felt that it wasn't strong enough compared to so many other songs on this incredible album!

I didn't love this my first listen and had it ranked at #11, but it grew on me so much that by the second time I finished the album, I was wanting to hear it again. Sad it's out so early. :(

"If I Had Any Sense Left At All" barely limps up to #8 thanks to #2 ranks from myself and KanenrĂĄ:ke helping it to win the tie with the title track. This song was a top 5 contender for awhile in the beginning, and then very consistently in the 7-9 range for the rest of the submission process, but the most consistent spot was #8. This has always been one of my favorites on the album, but I had no idea how it would fare here. Ultimately it did about as well as I was expecting. This is a super unique song, with the crying steel guitar intertwining with Reba's signature twang on the chorus to make it all feel much more epic than any other vocalist probably could have made a song like this. Throw in those crunchy key changes that happen throughout the chorus, this becomes a very interesting song to listen to from a music theory standpoint. I'm not surprised to see it be polarizing, but I am thankful that it was at least able to make the cut for the eventual album tracks rankdown!

Sean's Thoughts: 11. âIf I Had Any Sense Left At Allâ: For me I feel like this sounds and acts like a typical Reba song from the 90âs. It could have been in almost any of her albums from the 90âs. I think thatâs the problem for me. Itâs too similar sounding and there are other songs on this album that shine brighter for me.
Thank you, Sean, for pointing out why this song is so great! It legit sounds like it fits in among Reba's classic greats from her most epic years! I'm sorry you interpreted that fact as a bad thing tho

Oh guess what, EVERY song from here on out has #1 ranks!!! That's got to be some kind of a rankdown record, to have a #1 rank for 7 different songs, and have them ALL make the top 7? Usually with rankdowns it feels like at least one person manages to rank a song at #1 that everyone else tanks, or else a song manages to sneak into the top 5 without any #1 ranks, beating out songs that do have #1s. Who's ready to be the first to lose theirs?!

It becomes a habit of the heart To be afraid to even start To try and love again. I want to give you myself to you, But I've been alone so long that I'm scared, Scared to move.

"Once You've Learned To Be Lonely" is STELLAR!! This album is full of hard-hitting lyrical moments, but this song is one of the hardest-hitting. The lyrics to this song are relatable to everybody to a certain extent. Not to mention that the portrayal of loneliness as something that people come to find comfort in after they have been hurt by a lover is downright brilliant.

Sean's Thoughts: 08. âOnce Youâve Learned to Be Lonelyâ: I donât remember this song that much when the album first came out, but let me tell you. Itâs been many years, but when I turned 22 I felt this song hard. Like damn did it get me through a rough time! I love the background vocals for this too! So good!

Coming in at #6, as the final song to miss the top 5, is going to be a bit of a devastating loss for some of us... It is the first song to have multiple #1 ranks, and is actually the first song to be a #1 contender for this rankdown!

And he said, "They tell me this is all that's left, Say this hell on Earth is best. I list all those reasons and I still don't understand." He cursed his body, old and weak. Tears of failure burned his cheek, And he said, "Oh, don't you know I prayed to die before this day?" Love is a hard, hard road.

I cannot even adequately or accurately describe my love for "Moving Oleta"... This song was THE only choice for me to put at #1. This is an example of an incredible story song hitting me right in the feels despite not being a song I can personally relate to. The lyrics are bone-chilling, heart-wrenching, and every other descriptor that sounds like it chews on your heart and spits it out like a wet rag.
I mean, just look at the zinger that Reba throws at us immediately after the climax of the song. "There's a shadow much darker than the Valley of Death when you fear the Reaper might not come today." The tiny snapshot you see of the man's anguish from that one line is literally enough to cause spine-tingling, chill-inducing, full-body shivers to start happening if you think about it long enough... I have never experienced so many emotions from a single line of text in my entire life.

Sean's Thoughts: 02. âMoving Oletaâ: I expect this to be high on many lists. I remember how huge this song was when the album first came out and I was so sad that it never became a single. What I love most about country music, and what I have always loved about Rebaâs songs, are the stories. The songs arenât just songs to dance and sing along to. They are stories full of so many emotions and this song is no exception. This song especially hits home really hard. It moves me every time I hear it. The vocals are on point (you hear sad in Rebaâs voice, you hear anger in her voice, you hear desperation). The production is exquisite, truly heartbreaking. And the lyrics are beyond beautiful. The lyric âHe said, âboy donât you know I prayed to die before this dayââ brings me to tears every time. âThereâs a shadow much darker than the valley of death, when you fear the reaper might not come todayâ, âThe TV keeps the quiet awayâ, âLove is a hard, hard roadââŚ.damn I canât stop crying!!! I also know this wouldnât have been a huge #1 song, but it reminds me of when fans practically made âShe Thinks His Name Was Johnâ a singleâŚthis could have been huge in that sense!
